      Thanks, Wes - it's interesting for me to see myself looking at it, not really suspecting it was in my future. It has to make you wonder what future watches you've crossed paths with yet haven't even realized it.

    Thanks Austin for showing us the Rolex AD scenario and prices on the grey market😉. Really appreciate it. The AD’s are pretty much empty 🤷‍♂️. Not a surprise.
    Personally I’d buy a pre ceramic GMT Master 2 (16710 ). The one you have is great 👍🏻. I have the new BLRO 126710 and aesthetically I think the pre ceramic “Pepsi “ with the aluminium insert looks way better👌🏻. Speaking of the new Pepsi, I didn’t see a single GMT MASTER 2 (126710 ) BLRO at the shops? Or did I miss it?!
    Once again thanks for showing us around buddy! Thoroughly enjoyed the Video👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

    Oh man, I love the red accents on that meteorite Daytona. I think they look really nice against that dial. The Iconaut doesn't look too bad overall, but I think the bezel is too wide and the numerals on it look a bit clownish. Anyway, it was nice getting that little tour of Fukuoka watch shops again. Have you considered the brand Panerai? What's your thought on their watches? I've always been a Rolex person and owns the BLNR and the white ceramic Daytona. Recently picked up a Panerai Luminor 1950 during a vacation and it changed my perspective of Panerai. Used to think that it's too big and obnoxious. Now I'm loving it. Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks

    You've got some useful information here. I'm not a worshiper of Rolex but I have to admit there is consistent strength and value to the brand. It was a shocker to see that Omega trails them so badly. In the U.S., a lot of people think of of Rolex and Omega in the same breath. I guess they're not, eh? Do I gather that Grand Seiko is just an afterthought in Japan - not a big deal? It saddens me if that's true. I think people (the world over) should support the home team.

    The polished center links make the watch for sure! Brushed is boring and at the end of the day, I think its more about one's appreciation for the mechanics (far from complicated) or the combination of the look with the mechanics of the watch. I want mine to shine and look like a million bucks, not have ppl thinking "is that real or a bad refufurb job?"

My pick of the day... hmm the bronze Tudor black bay next to the GMT for new, the full root beer ( early in the 1st vid ) for 2nd hand and prob that white dial Daytona for grey market, but on an oysterflex strap. Interesting thoughts about the date-just and remaining steel pieces in the AD's. This would make some of those beautiful blue dial ones a very good investment going forward...

    • @watchsymposium
      @watchsymposium  Před 4 lety +1

      The SS Rolex Daytona is probably the hottest watch in the world at the moment, so that's just the going price. It's crazy to some people that the 2 tone is going for less, but that's just the way it is. If you could find a SS Daytona at an AD, it would be cheaper - much much cheaper. And that's why you can't. They take about 1 minute to sell, because most people know they can flip them the same day for thousands more than they paid.
