Few years ago you can buy the manual variant for less than 2M pesos
Wah, even the Philippines get to choose the soft top version, here in Malaysia we only get the RF right now, if you want the soft top of the latest version of the MX-5, your only option is going the grey import route.
Screen needs to be foldable into the dash. Preferably with a push of your hand from top and likewise, pushing a button would slowly bring it up.
With the new screen lower and wider is much easier to see over or past it, I’ve turned the brightness down so it’s even less evasive. You can even turn it off completely.
These screens they are putting in cars now are the worst idea. They look aftermarket out of place, and Im in the they distract camp.
As for the new 24. It really does not make enough difference that I can tell a difference from my 2020. Good thing is though they left well enough alone rather than following the crowed and going hybrid
A massive thank you to Mazda for keeping this a true roadster. I don’t think we have anything to complain about, there’s no competition in the same price bracket. They have kept everything true to the original concept. We in Australia do not get the tan interior unless you get the fastback in the automatic version nore do we get the tan roof, so be careful what you say, u tube is international. I’ve got what we call the MX5 roadster GT RS , it’s amazing. good review by the way
Thanks for the kind words. This is just our first look. We plan to take one out for a spin once it becomes available for a test drive.
Great vid. What color is the soft top at 0:30? Looks like a gray color but can't tell.
Tan. There are two options--black soft top or tan soft top.
@@carguideph Here in Europe there is a new colour in Grey, called Machine Grey for the ND3/2024 version, but in Europe also, is only available the 1.5l engine with 132hp, but the car is perfect too, because his lightness and costs about 36 000 euros for the soft top and about 40 000 euros for the RF´s versions. Thank you for the review.
Great video
Thanks!
This infotainment should have been in the refreshed cx5 and cx9 like the US gets. Buying the turbo cx5 and any trim level of the cx9 with a Mazda connect from 2013 feels dated, it having android auto remedies it but it kinda felels getting scammed considering you're spending 2.5 million plus for a blurry camera due to the old infotainment's nature of being analog on the camera while the new one is way better.
That was a nice automatic convertible
That info screen thing on the dash needs to be integrated into the dash. This fad is soooo lame! it looks like it was an afterthought and glued on. Mazda needs to stop this Tesla inspired BS info screen on top of the dash. Mold into the dash!
I'm more of a "screen integrated into the dash" kinda guy too, but unfortunately this fad (which arguably isn't a fad anymore but rather a staple), is so prevalent in modern cars that it's become the norm.
Beyond the MX5, you have, all the other Mazda models, all Corolla models, Civic, CRV, The Supra, Audi A4, and many more. The A4 is the worst offender, with the screen looking so out of place from the dash.
It's a design choice that I hope goes away, but after multiple generations sporting it, looks like it's here to stay.. unfortunately.
It is a lot less evasive than it used to be. You can turn the brightness down or just have an analog clock or turn it off completely. When I’m driving mine I don’t even see it anymore.
@@cptndave1 Do you have an ND3? I really like the horizontal aspect to it, much improved over the more vertical one. Fits better onto the dash.
@@tjjavier yes. The funny thing is when I went to Mazda end of last year and asked for a ND3, they had no idea what I was talking about. I said the 2024 model, it’s actually just called the (Y) version. This whole nc1 , nc2, nd1, nd2 and nd3 is just what people say on the internet. Not according to Mazda. Anyway yes it’s the new one and it does fit a lot better than the ND (x) and before. Sorry for the long answer to your short question 😂😂😂😂
Look at the dash. Not sure if you can even fit a 2x1 inch screen even if you tried hard. This is not a regular sedan.
40k is not affordable.
Compered to what else. There’s no competition in this price bracket.
+1. This is especially true in the Philippines where the GR 86 costs around P 200K more.
The SNAKE LED FANG WAS SOOOOO SEXY . 😢
True...we'd miss that design detail.
28,500 $ in America
"Affordable" at 45k+ €...
It hilarious that mazda call it a tan interior when more than half remaims black. With the grey exterior it's a complete mess and an eyesore.
The tan interior/tan top only works on certain body colors. It certainly doesn't look that good with the new Aero Gray color.
Ugh... Manlet car. Wish i could fit but sadly only little boys can drive these 😂
I'm six foot two and I'm very comfortable in mine. Bad luck...
