    as a jewish person and a hebrew speaker, i would like to say 2 things:
    1) kind of funny that you didn't mention that lilith's name literally translates to "of the night [fem]" which is the source for much of the reasoning that she is a creature of the night, likely a type of owl.
    2) i cannot overstate how little lilith matters to most jews. she is very elevated in her status by kabbalists, beforehand demonology in judaism was very minor and niche. lilth is obviously very interesting because she is shrouded in so much mystery, but much of this mystery is straight up jewish disinterest. to be clear, while most gentiles hear a lot about the kabbalah, it is a small subsection in judaism, that very few dwell in.

      Unfortunately Eve doesn’t win in neither version. Sexist men blame Eve for being the woman to bring evil into the world. Those who believe in the Lilith version think Eve was made to be submissive to Adam. Though she didn’t become submissive until she ate the apple and that was one of her punishments. Is it feminist to uplift one woman to drag another? I think God wanted us to be equal but humans do anything to justify their actions.

    Lilith is also mentioned later with Cain after he's been banished to Nod. She takes him under her wing, I think that is in a literal sense, and looks after him. Cain can only drink of the blood of the land, thus this making him the first Biblical vampire, as the blood of the land refereed to the blood of people and animals, and this changed to Lilith being the mother of monsters as she acted as a mother to Cain

    One of my writing projects I have on the back burner is a fantasy story about an elven witch who runs a potion shop. In that world's mythology, the first humans were Adam and Eve and the first elves were Asriel and Lilith. The focal character of my story is named after that world's biblical Lilith. I always thought the idea of Lilith being booted for demanding equality made for a good source story to tweak.

    • @solidonseraindogthetenth1679
      @solidonseraindogthetenth1679 Před 9 měsíci +8

      Man and woman were already equal, so Lilith did not need to demand equality. I think the reason why she was booted is because she was not being nice which was introducing sin to the world too early.

      It's funny to call it Biblical literature because that's basically what it is, the "9 types of Angels" are pure Bible headcanon that does not correspond with anything stated in early CE when it was written.
      Angels, or Mal'achs, are creatures that nothing had to do with the Seraphs and the Cherubs, much less the wheels that might not even be living creatures.

Considering the rather misogynistic "retellings" it's entirely possible Lilith was used as a title, like Nyx, once she realized Adam was, like every man of that Era *COUGH ZUES COUGH COUGH* she went off on her own. Come on let's be honest we'd do the exact same thing in her position
