Aside from being interesting to watch, it isn't clear what the purpose is if any. Is the data storage physically destroyed along with all internal circuit boards? That is the main reason I would destroy a computer device.

If the software was running on an old chipset then ya I would destroy it for shits and giggles I have a phone like that and it runs android 13 and the CPU it uses to run is a mediatek mt870aw and iv seen some big fps drops with the benchmark tests.
