Wow! Thank you! That is the best advice. The part about whatever you cut off will be doubled. I only wanted to do a two inch drop, I would have wound up with four (too much)!
MIke..HELP. replacing my springs after a Shelby drop. Bought Eibach progressive rate with "supposedly" 1" drop. Okay, stock spring is 15 1/8 " tall, new spring is 12"...WHAT !!! I was almost able to put it in without a spring compressor. That CANNOT be right ...can you tell me what stock spring height is ? Now I have to fight eibach/summit on a return because I bought them several months ago in prep..UGgg..but theu say for 1966 V8 mustang drop 1"....advice? (PS - I pulled it out ...I wont trust that its safe that loose)
This is true for American vehicles, but when trimming springs for Japanese vehicles, measuring a half inch while rotating the spring method won’t work, and will usually have the person wanting more low. I’ve done 1/4 coil cuts at a time until desired height just, it’ll lower ever so slightly it’s usually never an issue to over cut, when trimming 1/4 coil at a time
Yes.mike Maier racing is owned by the guy doing the video.he has his own line of products. Maier racing is ran by his older brother Charles he makes the fiberglass body parts and different Suspension parts. I think they had a falling out.
Best spring tutorial I've seen and heard. Thank you

so does cutting a linear rate coils increase the spring rate?
yes.
Dig it!

or on some it's the other way. gotta calculate the spring ratio.
Is there a difference between Maier racing and MMI?

Does this change the spring rate of a linear spring? Would the spring rate go up or down?
Yo Dude you avertise 1 pair of coil springs on you website they are listed as "500lb coil" you might want to fix that.
