A HISTORY OF PERFORMANCE BACKED BY A CULTURE OF INNOVATION, DESIGN, AND OLD SCHOOL CRAFTSMANSHIP
Based in Livermore California, about an hour east of San Francisco, the MMI team headed by husband and wife Mike and Brianne Maier, is a testament to quality engineering, manufacturing, and speed.
This small shop has turned out SCCA championship-winning vehicles, movie-star cars, and some of the most wicked street rides in the nation (and across the world). A history of racing runs deep in both Mike and Brianne, so after teaming up in the relationship world, they decided to team up in business as well. A focus on early Mustangs and a wedding present called “Ol’ Blue” would prove to establish a foothold for the shop and give the team a niche market to create products.
So whether you’re looking for a modern ride in an old car, or looking to tear it up on the weekends at your local autocross, we have the proven, quality built parts you’re after. We’ll see you at the starting line.

Measuring for Wheel Fitment: The Ultimate Guide
Is there ANY way one of these will go into a Fairlane/Torino/Falcon body 70-71? 70-71 Torinos share a LOT of chassis parts with 71-73 Mustang.
Concerned because I love his videos, and listening to his knowledge has he been having health problems?!!
Does putting a large tire screw up how the car corers? Example: if I were to use your front suspension and setup but use a 295 or 315 tire will have the same grip as a 275?
Nobody likes a sloppy hole.😂
Great to see you here on CZcams Mike!! I remember I bought my Bilsteins from you when you were still in Hayward well years later and it’s time to upgrade! Be in touch soon!
Somehow I always thought this install would be more complicated but this looks very straight forward can't wait to tackle mine this weekend.
Been saving up for your mod 2!
Getting a little background on the MOD packages and finding out which one works best for you is largest nugget of fantastic info from this video. I also have that Boss 302 Chassis book, I want to add my name to the list of people that recommend this book for those looking to improve their Mustangs. :)
Thank you for letting me know these things. It different from me reading forcing imagination looking into magazines conpared to a real shop owner. Who actually understands what he did and why
Are they made for 62-65 Fairlane?
What do you have for a 1967 Sunbeam Tiger?
If I’m correct in remembering, the Tigers used a 260. I have a Ford 260 V8 I’ll be pulling soon… 2bbl, all stock. 116k miles.
Chachi... Bustin Balls.
I'm torn on trying to find a great upper control arm. I watched @Andy Kruse video and it seems like he loves these ones but if I'm going to spend $739 I want to be sure they last. Do you guys have an estimate on how many miles before maintenance is needed? I'm working on a 1966 Fairlane rebuild project.
Enjoy the morning Coffee. I agree. Just keep the car running. When I sitting in my car I am in a different world and get to meet new people. Thanks for all your help.! Allen
Just keeping the car running is the beat advice for any car no matter what platform
That last little nugget of advice for creating memories with the family is such an underrated reminder of what we need to do more of. Thanks Mike!! :)
Mike, I feel like I met you at a car show in Lakeport, last summer. A benefit for Operation Tango Mike. Any chance you were there with your fastback. I spoke with a guy who said that he made the really nice shock tower brace in his car, that looks just like yours.
Interesting insight - kudos to your professionalism and tenacity. just need a ‘66 Fastback to start ending money your way. :)
While I have some frustrations with delivery from MMI, I can appreciate the fact that you tell the truth. I work for a MFR in another industry and dealing with changes due to unforeseen circumstances, such as mergers and acquisitions usually leads to challenges in quality. That being said, I can appreciate the desire to make it right for the customers you serve. Looking forward to receiving my front end suspension kit! Keep up the good work!
Brianne Maier Inc 😂😂
These are the best! Whenever you can get inside access or just a straight conversation with someone like Mike it's priceless.
Great explanation Mike, thanks and look forward to seeing more of the same
Thanks, look forward to following these videos. Would love to see some videos of cars that were done by Mike and his team. Car testimonies done right can be cool. I hope to share mine soon.
Mike, I admire how you keep your cool with all the frustrations you and your crew encounter and not just with ball joints! We car guys all have our mountains to climb but yours are like the size of Mt Everest! Thanks for caring about all of your customers, wanting to deliver the best quality product and for sharing your knowledge.
Thanks Mike! I always learn something from you and appreciate the education!
Most people will never understand how hard it is to make something, whether it's something done on a mill, or furniture, or cut/bent/welded. At any point something can be off and the time and material is lost forever, or a substandard product is left and needs to be discounted. I felt every word Mike was saying here. Getting screwed by a poorly made replacement part is a relatively new thing these days, so much so that I am very reluctant to change anything older that still works. The older part is usually heavier, thicker, with sharper machining, and in spec. Inhousing is a solution but not a great one: labor is expensive- you almost can't charge what it's worth and need to make it up somewhere else, and a shop's bandwidth is limited. Whatever you're doing ties you up from not doing 10 other things that might be more valuable. I feel you Mike. You make great stuff!
This is a great way for Mike to share his vast knowledge on this hobby and the parts he makes. Looking forward to more episodes. :)
Great episode guys. Mike, I'm looking forward to visiting you at your shop again. This time I'll bring my 68 coupe. Chuck.
The firm that runs the mergers & acquisitions for Holley are buying everything up. It sucks because they are NOT car people. Mike. I hope you never hit a point where they put too much cash in front of you, that you can't say no. LOL If you need more capital. I am sure there's enough local guys that would be willing to help keep MMI from being bought. 👍 I will be by there to order a rear brake kit next month.
Long time customer. I’ve noticed the axle on my 68 is slightly to the right. It is also about a 1/2 higher on the right. I wonder if I can use this to correct it? 1/2” on the driver side and 1” on the passenger side?
Doing this on my 71 Camaro. One rotation of the spacer equals 0.049 inch. 0.087 inch rotation equals 0.001 inch.
Hello there Mike, I wanted to thank you, again, for reaching out to me personally, to help me with my Panhard bar kit installation questions. My install worked out perfectly, after I realized my my reconstructed car,(new rear torque boxes and full rear frame rails) had frame rail spacing differences specifically to my old car.. I drilled a new bolt hole, for the stationary upper support bar, to accommodate my narrower than normal frame rails. The rest of install went just as your video says. To those that like to "drive" their cars, you are going to love this setup... Keep at it brother.... God bless...
Damn, I need one. Add it to the cart!
This is a great how-to by the one of the best parts designer and driver in our industry! For those still on the fence about the benefits of a Panhard Bar, I promise this addition is worth all the buzz!
Difference between Mod and Mod 1 versions?
i think its the removable center section of the bracket
Our MOD 1 setup includes a rear sway bar.
For those, that stumble on to this segment, I ordered one of these Panhard kits. After a little longer wait, than anticipated, I did receive my order.. The product is very well made, that said, I did have a fittament issue during my install. I contacted MMI with my problem, and to my surprise, Mike Maier himself, called me to discuss my issue. My 65 Fastback, had the frame rails, rear torque boxes and rear floor replaced, over many years, two different brands of torque boxes used and by different guys doing the work. All of this, meant I had a slightly narrower distance between my frame rails where the kit was to mount up. Mike listened to my problem, and quickly explained, I could redrill the holes for the cross support bar, to accommodate my slightly out of spec project car . He was off, and at a road race event when he took the time, to call me personally.. I could not be happier with the whole experience. I strongly recommend MMi for vintage Mustang suspension parts. Point being, old cars, with lots of work done on them, over many years, will almost always need some additional fabrication to install these types of parts. If it was easy, everybody would do it !!!.. God bless....
What tire diameter do you suggest ?
Rubber bushings and panhard bar. Hmmm. Interesting video
Great video. Learned a ton and cant wait to install these.
Great video and great products. Quick question about the geometry you chose for your kit. Why did you choose to mount the lower connection of the coilover to UCA? Seems like it could be closer to 1:1 if it were connected to the LCA closer to the centerpoint of the wheel. I'm an uneducated novice, so just going by my own common sense.
What is the tire size you recommend then to optimise tire loading.
👉 'Promo sm'
Just got mine and it’s a sweet little piece lots of thought put into the design!
What’s the max you would recommend for the rear tire then?
So you are going to win a Cam T event with 255 front tires?
Bigger cylinder more "pressure", so stiffer pedal... smaller cylinder less "pressure", so softer pedal... hydraulics 101 Brody! 😉
What's your suggestion for bringing the front tire and wheel inboard if not with a drop spindle you can get the wheel hub over the ball joint? I don't need or want a 315 in the front but I'd love to have a better stance and offset in why wheel / tire package. Standard spindles and a 7" wheel with 245s has me right at the fender lip.
Most 18 inch wheels will help get the rim inside/over the ball joint.
Can you bring me one of those caps to OUSCI Mike?
Love the intro! Bad a$$!
Thank you I'm building my own suspension good info
