hello there! it’s me again. sorry for the lapse in posting for awhile, i’ve had a kinda dwindling morale recently and i’ve not been able to record much. but i’m back now!

I love Achilles Come Down and to hear it in his voice would be heart-stopping, so I don’t personally have any opinion on mashups with it, as long as I can hear Achilles Come Down in his voice! I was introduced to you today. You've got yourself a playlist of just the amazing music you put together. The dedication you have to making your music contain so much emotion, and how you adjust the pieces to fit together in a musically satisfying way. Just inspiring, words don't properly articulate music like that. And let's not even get into the originals, the amount of brainpower it must take to fit music for all the parts, and constructing such articulate and convincing lyrics. Also, how do you think through your phrasing, it's soooo good? I'd love to try seeing how to take some of that into finding my style because there's so much to learn from and you aren't just copying.
i’m so thankful for your comments !!! i’m glad you’re enjoying these. unfortunately i never have a concrete plan for phrasing / building of harmonies in these songs - i just start and see where i end up, trying to fill the shape of the song without overwhelming it (though, who knows how accurately i achieve that). genuinely can’t tell you how much this comment means to me !

Two of my favourite bands in one.
this reminds me of a person and their younger self arguing about how they failed to become what they'd always wanted to be so they both feel they've failed and the older version feels as if the younger version is blaming them for what they already feel guilty for their failure. But the younger version of themself is just wondering where it all went wrong and what they can do to change the outcome together.
1:01 them appearing and seeing each other face to face and both starting to tear up because the older one is standing in front of their more innocent/naive counterpart and they look disappointed. The younger one because they're angry at the way things turned out. "The truth is hiding in your eyes.." is the older one talking about how they can see the disappointment hiding in their younger self's eyes all while the younger one is wondering what happened and reviewing their actions up to this point and trying to figure out where it went wrong.
1:24 "How did we get here? when I used to know you so well?" Is their younger self to their older self. "All I wanted was you. All I wanted was you." Is their older self to their younger self. Both of them wondering how exactly they went wrong for different reasons, The younger self in a more naive, who did this to you? way. And the older self in a more cynical, I'm the one who fucked up everything, type of way.
1:39 Again with the "How did we get here?" But this time their younger self thinks that they might understand the situation better, "I think I know." As the older self is still saying "All I wanted was you. All I wanted was you." and the "Never coming home, never coming home." Is the older self's thoughts basically telling them in their younger self's voice that they're never gonna get that innocence and naivety back even though they want it so badly.
2:10 is the older self lashing out on the younger self in self loathing and anger because they still believe that their younger self is disappointed in them. "Do you see what we've done?! We've gone and made such fools of ourselves!" Causing their younger self to start tearing up more. When their older self sees this they get more upset with their actions and repeat, "Do you see what we've done?! We've gone and made such fools of ourselves!" This time aimed more at themself for being the problem
2:39 Is the younger self getting angry at the older self for lashing out at them and lashing out in return. "At the end of the world, or the last thing I see! You are never coming home, never coming home!" Effectively reiterating that the older self will never get their innocence or naivety back but this time their actually saying it to their older self instead of their older self thinking it. But in their younger self's mind they're thinking, "Could I? Oh Should I?" Basically wondering if they should've said that or if they went to far.
2:65 is their older self asking their younger self the same question they asked themselves earlier, "How did we get here? When I used to know you so well?" Asking the younger self what are we doing fighting like this, why did we both lash out at each other? But their younger self is now actually starting to be disappointed in their older self, "All I wanted was you." Their younger self is saying, All I wanted was for us to become successful and you let me down. "My thoughts you can't decode!" Is their older self telling their younger self that their reasoning for their failure wouldn't be understood by their younger self.
3:05 when both of them say, "All I wanted was you!" Their younger self is now saying it out of disappointment and their older self is still saying it in a, I fucked everything up and I wish I could get their innocence and naivety back. But they both disappear without another word when the music ends. Signifying that they couldn't come together to change their outcome.
