I invited my best friend to join me for service on Sunday and one day he accepted the invitation and he was watching Stephen preach on stage and he turned to me and was like, "What's this pastors name" and I answered him by saying, "Stephen Christian" he's like "Bro, that's the lead singer of Anberlin" It was funny because I knew he looked familiar and he talked about how he was in a band and thought he was cool. You know so humbly that I thought he meant he was just like part of a garage band that never made it big. He's a really genuinely good guy with a big heart.
I wish nothing but the best for Stephen and, and hope he’s back before long. I’ve been listening since Cities, so I won’t lie, this is a little a scary for me, but I’m positive Matty will fill the shoes left for him. I’m here for Anberlin, no matter what happens!
So Matty is only covering for Stephen on the tours, which means Stephen will still be the recording voice. I get it. I think it would be neat if you would do a live album with Matty on it.
Both really bummed and happy for Stephen, will miss his presence and singing but sounds like he is making the wisest choice for all the right reasons. Wasn't sure how I was gonna respond but when they said Matty Mullins, I felt a sense of relief and instantly thought, I can dig that, lets go! Fin will go down as my all-time favorite song and no one can replace Stephen on the songs in my favorites.

Now in my mid 30's I've had a good chance to think about which band REALLY is my favourite band ever. About 6 months ago I realised it was you guys. You do everything right. From heavy, to soft, and everything in between. Every album is it's own perfect experience. I then felt the need to decide on my favourite track. Paperthin Hymn took the lead just slightly over The Haunting. I hope Stephen figures out everything he can while on hiatus and can return again once again. And as a fan of MMF, this is incredible exciting to hear what comes of it and how it sounds. Hope you guys can make it over the the UK, I'll be buying a ticket quicker than any other show available
As a father who works ALOT to support my family, I see exactly what Stephen is doing. It makes me reflect on my situation and is all the time away from my family to support them more important thank actual time with them. All the best to the guys of anberlin and their families. ❤✌🏾🤞🏾
Just saw the show in Detroit with Matty and he was absolutely incredible ... what a voice, and such a fun and energetic presence. Awesome show by everyone, the band was tight and powerful. Great job selecting him, Anberlin lives on and is better than ever!
Matty is such a great choice, honestly hope you take him on as full singer for albums too, Stephen is a big part of Anberlin but so are you guys. Can't wait for the next chap of Anberlin. Thank you.
