    Been using a Gazelle pop up tent now for the past three years. It weighs about 30 lbs. 4 man tent.
    I can put a cot inside it with a 4" inflatable mattress. Weight savings of about 100 lbs. And you can set it up and drive away from it.. You can set it up in less than 5 minutes when you figer it out. And they make a big, oversize, waterproof stuff bag to cram it back into. Whole 9 Yards for around $400 With good zippers....

    I have this tent, after every trip when I am cleaning up, I clean and lube the zippers, I have not had any issues with the zippers.

    Yo, I agree some of the details that hold the thing together suck. Even at 1200.00 you shouldn't have to change out zippers, nuts, and bolts. I think you're going to find if you use it alot it's going to frustrate you often. At the same time I really hope it works out.

    I completely agree with everything you said bro....I'm also looking to replace my mattress with an air mattress so I can deflated and keep most of the blankets and pillows in there...gonna try anyway lol.

      Air mattress suck for camping. If your talking about your average walmart air mattress. They have no R value what so ever. It's camping. Your sleeping in the woods or the wilderness. If you can't go without your creature comforts then don't go camping.

      @@66Duffman I had there gen 1 tent loved it just hated that 3 inch mattress but good old Amazon has some cheap foam mats that I though on top and definitely made sleeping in that thing a lot better!

    Add some old man emu heavy springs works great !

  • @minutemanoutdoors7730

    honestly jsut used it for a 48hr airsoft event and decent wind wile i was on the field came back and aluminum brackets for the XL were ripped off and almost broke my window lol no recommenced. you cant lock the ladder into place during windy situations. also the cover for the tent ripped after some decent use needs to be reinforced better

  • @AustinH7
    @AustinH7 Před 2 lety

    A 100 dollar tent is all you need. You save 1-3 mpg and you aren’t adding so much weight to your vehicle. A ground tent isn’t any more difficult to set up than a roof top tent, plus you can set up your tent claim a spot and keep exploring in your vehicle. To easily put away a tent into the original packaging roll the tent using the folded up tent poles making sure it’s the same width as the poles, slides right into the bag

  • @dundeeecroc
    @dundeeecroc Před 2 lety +1

    IMO is to leave the tent/camp where you're settled for a bit. and use the truck to drive around. I don't care for the rooftop type of tents.

      I have the Gen ll XL and it performed extremely well under the added stress of the extracurricular activities and with little or no room left on the bumpstops the Jeep didn’t rock or squeak at all.
      Four out five stars because the mattress is a bit thin.
