Other shapes would be really cool to. Like a pyramid or or even like a U-shape. I was actully looking at buying one of these but they are hundreds of dollars. Now that you built a badass looking one im convinced i can make an ugly half ass one. Awsome video man
@@StrangeGarage was actually wondering a ballpark cost of the glass you were able to find, I'm waiting for a mirror Pane film that I'm hoping will have a lot better luck than the foggy two way mirror films that have since polluted the market with this diy trend in an upkick, but my first build is a quick shot prototype anyways. Love your build and love the metal frame, my final version I'm planning on using aluminum frame for a dodecahedron and I'm kind of sweating on that one 😅
@@loganabelsalter I have a background in industrial glass, so my price was much different than what others would pay, unfortunately. I paid zero, I honestly don't know, I bet you could get it for approx $50. Glass is not cheap. Aluminum is good material, but not ideal for new fabricators. Whatever you are comfortable with though. I'm sure someone did something similar that could help you out a lot.

It's the chicago 165, got it used for $200 and it was worth every penny. It's fine for steel, but i need AC/DC for aluminum. Otherwise I'm completely happy with it. I wouldn't pay full price for one though.

Getting a bunch of 18g wires into 5/16" tubing would have taken more time than I had. I built another one and used Cat5 wire instead, that fit much better.

Aluminum is good material, but not ideal for new fabricators. Whatever you are comfortable with though. I'm sure someone did something similar that could help you out a lot.

you should use the same glass (acrylic) for all sides so it looks the same

I think I would have concealed the wires

That's cutting oil that I hadn't cleaned off yet. They use it when cutting glass.
