That's hauntingly accurate. I've been exposed to _decades_ of christian religious material through my parents which I wouldn't otherwise have been, and I'm convinced that's the only qualifying factor. You don't need to be logical, you don't need to be accurate, just be dynamic and sound confident.
It's like choosing who to believe on a message board based on which font they use.
I’m sorry to hear that that’s what you retained if you don’t mind me asking what about it do you find illogical? I have spent my whole life in a Christian based home and I don’t quite see it that way, there’s a perfectly logical explanation to everything and have found science and math don’t disprove but strengthen the Bible.
my first thought was just seeing this hypothetical board covered in messages in Times New Roman, Arial, other regular fonts, but then there's just this one that's in *comic sans*
And you just know people will choose comic sans, defending it fervently. And who can blame them, what other font can elicit an emotional response.
I mean, if you have to code your fonts on the message board it's the same deal. If you put in the work to make your words look fancy you gotta know what you're doing!

i hate that religions are seen as money making or crowd controlling, but the core base of many religions has nothing to do with what modern day churches etc practice. Atheist should respect religious people as we respect you, most serious religous people do not follow modern day practices as they have been altered and adjusted.

I think the thing that made me stop believing in god was the fact that one of my youth group counselors made an argument that inadvertently stated that the only way achieve happiness was by believing in god. She sounded like this actually.

Rather cynical take on how religions form.
It's the writers of The Simpsons, they've taken cracks at religion since Season 1.
It's both a joke and story relevant.
The show is substantially more cynical about religion compared to the Simpsons (which varied episode to episode) and Futurama (which mostly treated it as just another set piece for comedy)
But a completely truthful one
