Great space! ~ Nicely set up!!! ... A home based shop is always the best! Over a 34 years span of time, I only had a shop twice outside/or away from home ... it was expensive & not very convenient to boot! Lessons learned :) ... Happily back at home with a similar set up as yours. Only, missing approx 1/3 of space in comparison to your shop ... missing the equivalent of your "office area". My office consists of my lap top of a roll around cart combo w/specialty tools on it ... a little cramped! I am currently looking into the metal tool cabinets to house all the specialty tools etc. The one thing that I am nervous of changing ... Is my main workbench; I'v used the same workbench for my whole career! ... I have 3 benches in total for different tasks. With the metal cabinets in an "L" shape; I am combining Tool Storage, a refined Setting Desk w/Microscope & finally a Drafting Desk. I figure once I have completed that "new setting desk" combo area; I will then make a decision about my main bench ... see what I will still be needing in my shop! :) Wishing you a profitable Holiday season! Cheers!!!
Thanks! With family having it at my house really helps make use of my time which I never seem to have enough of! Sounds like you have your set up while smaller organized and running efficiently. I promised my husband a reading chair for when I'm not working come in and enjoy the space and read his books so that's why office space is a little bigger, plus I still run a coaching business for endurance athletes so I do that in here as well. I hear you on main bench after using it for so many years it plays into how efficient you can be getting work done. I went back and forth on the bench on whether purchase one or have one built I ended up building one as it was less expensive. Still tweaking it the more I work in here though. At some point I need invest in microscope for setting as well. I like the metal cabinets that I have under my bench which I think you will find will work well for your tool storage. Look around the husky and kobalt ones didn't break the bank and seem be pretty sturdy. Here's to a profitable holiday season to you as well!
Credible room.I amnjustbstartingbout. Obviously shed and all the equipment costs an arm and a leg. Mybquestion to you is how long have you been working with silver or gold smithing and does your income from your work cover the overheads. I dont want to over invest. I am going to get all the main tools and equipment but doing it in 3 monthly stages . Your answer will help a lot as I am single and 63
Love your she shed studio!! Where are you in CT? I’m in Norwalk and have an in-home studio, but have a shed out front I had thought of using the same way as you. Would love to chat. Can we connect somehow?
Thanks! I’m in the United States east coast. The shed has mini split unit that does heat and air conditioning and water line goes below freezing with heat tape from shed to about 3 feet down. And shed insulated. I don’t do much casting more hand fabrication, anodizing and stone setting as well.
@@josephanthony1655 I've just started some work with the titanium so don't have ton of experience yet. It is more stiff more like nickel, finishing can be a little work, anodizing is easy but need keep in mind when designing if it's piece that gets a lot use like bracelet or ring the anodizing needs to be recessed not to get scratched. Stick with grade 1 or 2 as well. Reactive metals has some good equipment, tools and sheet and wire.

What kind of sheet metal do you use ??
Titanium grade 1-2, niobium, brass, copper, sterling silver and gold 14 or 18kt
@@kellijewelry What's a good source to purchase these materials ?
Reactive metals for the titanium and niobium, Stuller, Halstead Jewelry Supply, and Rio Grande for the others
@@kellijewelry Any tips when working with titanium??
