I’ve been watching for at least 4 years now and all I can say is I hope you never stop creating baits. It’s inspiring and I love watching every video and it’s been awesome seeing you become a dad. I watched you during one of the toughest times in my life and you’ve always inspired me with fishing and baits. Never stop making videos!
That is the most realistic craw action iv seen from any reaction bait. dang man that's seriously good.
This might be the most painful lure loss I've seen here yet. I can only imagine how it would be for the creator. My condolences.
Also, I fully support and look forward to a resin version.
It was so satisfying and so painful at the end...
the music is cool , I picture a medieval group of minstrels dancing and cavorting about playing flutes, lutes, and drums there in your garage while you make baits !
Can you make a salmon with a skeleton head pls ❤
zombie salmon is a great contender for the gnarly series
Or a skeleton with a salmon head. Artist choice
That’d be pretty cool
@@johndixon5323 that would also be pretty cool.
Been waiting for this for a long time.
Another marling masterpiece.
Sorry for your loss. It was beautiful.
The test tank was the best thing you have made to date. Just wish the sides were acrylic/plexiglass to see a side profile
My brother in bait making
You need to make a side series of "finally catching my first musky"
It's been years
Without the claws: Long frog.
With the claws: Masterpiece.
That’s close enough to a sand crab ❤😂
I'd be diving in after that lure. Heck, I've done it for a rattle trap, I swam into a swollen river just to retrieve it. I was rewarded with trebles in my hand but I got it back...lol
Dang that bait was just too good to let you keep it, like a unicorn in a myth
That is definitely worth some extra Chip hugs for that one. As you say “On to the bait”….
Literally the perfect color scheme and the best action, talk about a master bait maker
Sitting down at the Renaissance festival watching Marling do magic tricks. Music matched the witchcraft
Master Yoda with some more bait making gold 🥇
I'm seriously thinking about moving to Iowa so I can follow Mr. Marling around with my SCUBA gear and retrieve all the lures he breaks off! 😂😂
this might be the most heartbreaking lost lure...that action was epic, the stance of the craw on the suspend was amazing...as always great video
17:39 the second you see an entire electrical strip loosely poised above the test tank... the hairs on the back of my neck will NOT forgive you for that! GG my guy!
scrolled down waaaaay too far to find this. definitely needs to be moved. been watching since the beginning and would hate for the vids to stop...
i cant unsee a frog face and he kinda looks like a seabear from spongebob
the overlay music has an Irish feel to it. I like it.
A seriously beast of a crawdad.
My dog let out a nasty fart when you were talking about how bad that wood smells. I have never been more immersed in a video.
That intro music was a very pleasant change. Keep up the epic work!
I love the recap at the end of your videos of all the funny things you say. It's great 😅
I dig the whimsical tavern music at the intro
Was not expecting that action but man was it beautiful
I think Gillian Welch and Davd Rawlings need to record a song for the Marling Baits intro theme❤. I love hearing them in the back of your videos.
Go in the water after it. I've Dove down 8ft to get a lure back that was store bought. I would deal with diving in 40 degree water for a handmade lure such as the more than several I've cringed at you losing. Especially when a lure like this one had such AWESOME action that I did not expect
This is the summer for the top water Pirate Ship! I can feel it!
Just watched the video where you mentioned making one of these in a "future" video. And here we are.
I'm so happy that you put on the red accents, I am in love with it. However, it pails in comparison to that perfect action.
Digging the Gillian Welch and Sturgill playing in the background 🤟
It's ok to cry. I lost one of my good soup bowls today. it's ok to mourn the loss of the little things as well as the big things.
I’m fixing to binge all these videos
almost bed-time here in germany. thanks for the bait-time-story 😂❤
That thing had a freaking amazing swimming action! Go get that dang thing back!!!
Always impressed, today more than usual.
DUDE I can't believe how well that turned out! The action is soooo good!
The irish st Patricks day music is just toooo much lol
That was one might be my new favorite you've made.. I wish I lived within a days drive of wherever that is I swear I would dive butt naked into that frigidness just for a chance to own it. 😂
That is one chonky Craw lol. Very cool
Great job! Always happy to see one of your videos available.
Another amazing lure in the books!
That poop wood has ALL the natural defenses!
Someone will have to go dive for it >.> that was a nice action on that lure. I would be so afraid to use baits after spending so much time on them...
That crawdad picture made me laugh my ass off btw. Thank you for that
Sorry for your loss, Nate. On to the next bait!
You should look into a respirator or a vacuum collection system at least when working with woods that you aren't familiar with. There are some woods out there that are toxic and can present health problems if inhaled. There are some good books that can help you identify woods and list any dangers associated with their use. Just 2 cents from an older guy that wishes he knew more and took more precautions in his youth. Love the channel and content!
Love that I was driving home listening to Matt Heckler wondering if you had a new video out only to find you have, and lots of Matt in the background.
For a moment there, it totally resembled a dinner roll 🤤🥐. . . now I’m hungry 😂
Very cool it looks like a crawdad , swims perfect
So glad you did this!! Been waiting for this one!!
Carving Wood. Cool paint scheme. Figuring stuff out. Trying new stuff. Playing the guessing game. "LEADS HOT"!!!!
This is why I subscribe!
*Ready for some "One-Days"
Please make a Darter Minnow! They are beautiful.....
Rainbow Darter. Gulf Darter.
Ouch 😬 I’d be so pissed, I’m glad you know that per trial there is potential sacrificing. Keep up the great work!!
That was so sad to watch... beautiful work though. I'm crying right with you brother.
RIP in chat.
Bro!!! You are awesome! What an amazing build! Looks Fantastic and works GREAT!!!
That thing is perfect!! If you got a lotto in Iowa, you better by a ticket 😂😂👍👍
I love the action of that thing. Another awesome bait! Gonna have to make another...
Like the time lapse music 🎶 great addition
Man, i love me some crawdiddies!
I will find that lure and return it through the mail Mr. Marling.
First, I don’t know how you aren’t out of ideas! Awesome bait
Chip looking like an old boy these days!
I like the music it reminds of this old woodworking tv show I remember watching on PBS when I was a kid . I think it was the woodrites shop I believe.
You never cease to amaze me with your non typical lure making, great work! 👍
Some Irish themed St Patty's Day music. Nice touch
Crayfish as a whole need more love than they get so im glad you could spotlight them even if it is in the form of a bait. I work as a lab tech with mussels and crayfish and there is a severe lack of scientific data on these things so if you are reading this and want to become a research minded biologist and like crayfish please please please go out and get it done. They have so much diversity ranging from species that only burrow and are like 30 meters deep, to species that only live in caves and dont have eyes.
Heartbreaker of a lure
Boom. Video to watch at work tonight.
You need to make another one of those and maybe a master. Such a sick bait
Another super cool wild marling bait, now time for the jointed weight transfer corky lure
I like your Saint Paddy’s day special lol 🎵
This bait almost makes me forget about a floppy pink human swim bait in 2023! Almost! Let's make it O-FISH-AL!
Straight into it, I love it!!
man oh man, I'd buy one of these! Great work!!
Really really like the dulcimer music in this intro. That is fun shit
I had a lot of faith in that lure but thank God for Dr. Chip to console in I know his feedback helped you feelings tremendously. Make that lure again it will work great.
this gives me the old marling baits vibe, luv the vid
Thats some world class performance you pulled from that lure. Talking like creek deer or creek rain shower: magical
Yes!! Another upload!
Much respect for your craftsmanship and your passion. Your videos are simultaneously relaxing and inspiring.
-cheers
Very cool bait! I love the tank. It makes it so much easier to see how it works.
Man I’ve lost a bait I made and it felt real bad. I can’t imagine losing such an epic lure.
Thanks for the spoiler 😒

If you check the comment section before finishing the video it’s your own fault 🤷🏻♂️
The $ check from the video helps.
@@slothandturtle8036 this is true
Been waiting a long time for this
Another marling masterpiece
2 things - super dope lure my man, losing art that you create hurts - as a writer I've been there.
Second thing - my strategy for a lure retriever is a little different than others I've seen. Grab a pack of 2oz triangle sinkers at Walmart is like 2 bucks for 7 of them or something (with your 80# set up you could probably go heavier). Attach a solid strength snap to the narrow end and clip it to you line. Then launch it by bringing your rod tip down and flipping it up. Then drop the tip back down. This will launch the sinker up over the water and, depending in how far away the lure is stuck, will create a pull force opposite the direction you were reeling behind the lure- increasing the likelihood of freeing your snag. If it doesn't free it on landing, a couple pops up and down should do the trick.
I'm a fan man, hopefully I described that clearly - it's saved my multiple trebles in the dark of night.
Love you from Finland❤
That was an amazing bait!!!!! you should make it again - that thing was sick!
Probably one of my favorite lures you’ve ever made. Fantastic action on the retrieve
A tear shed for sure on that loss....
I think the slow sink is very realistic
Yet again a top tier bait and great vid, been watching you for years and it's amazing the level you've gotten to in terms of bait quality and yourself as a presenter, keep it up man
Love from down under!
Love the song choice at around 14:28. From there, great places to fish! Love your work and videos, always creative and entertaining.
love the music in the start very nice choice
Amazing bait, I wish you could have made it official man. Beautiful work.
Got us just waiting for Florida footage, and then spring this on us. Lol. I’m cool with it though.
You have got to invest in some lure retrieval gear. Heck, I have a spinner bait I've snagged a dozen times, I've always swam out and down to retrieve it. There is no way in hell I'd not go home without the lures you snap off. Tie a bobber to the line and cut it and post where it's snagged, I'll go swim down and get it lol
Dude, it looks so amazing holy crap well done
Awe man. That was such a cool bait.
I've been in bed sick all day listening to your videos because they're so relaxing.
Dude...I know this is gonna be awesome
Excellent as usual! You continue to amaze me with your talent!
