Thoughts:
I know a lot of parents want to know how easy it is to build a bike for their kids. Personally I wouldn't recommend trying to build one of these without the proper tools and knowledge. It only takes one loose bolt or over tightened bolt to cause serious injuries to your child. Like most Cannondale bikes this one had quality control issues (no surprise there). The brake pads were not set up correctly and they were rubbing out of the box. Also the headset was over tightened to the point that the steering was indexed. With all that said if you do decide to build the bike at home I have listed the tools I used in this video.

I bought my daughter the same one. I think some of the wheel spokes are too tight. The wheel wobbles. Do you know the specific specs. Maybe I’ll buy a tool.
Another question, do you think this bike could be an ok beginner tri bike for my 11yr old with a few adjustments. I already put toe clips, carbon fiber side bars, longer seat post.
