Doctors should be held accountable for their role in the opioid crisis in this country. Instead of refusing to proliferate highly addictive & deadly controlled substances they accepted the bribes from pharmaceutical salespeople in order to prop up the image & lifestyle expected of a medical professional.
The pharmaceutical companies knew there was a price to pay at some point but 3-5 billion in profits compared to a 1-2 billion lawsuit is a win-win.

Psychedelics saved me from years of uncontrollable depression, anxiety, smoking, and illicit pills addiction. A big part of being an attorney is working with the judge and prosecution to open up as many options as possible for you client.

People must not realize how much violence comes along with selling that amount of drugs. When a lot of these guys are running organizations who push that much weight, people always get murdered. What? You clearly don't appreciate how destructive these people are. These people don't have morals. They don't have friends. Family is conditional only, dropped at the first sign of deception. These people only understand money, fear, weakness, and opportunity. They cannot be reasoned with. They only cause death and suffering. They have no sense of law and order. The fact that they received a trial is extension of the benevolence of the US government.
A lot of high end criminals have excellent skills, but they can't even get a job washing dishes due to their record, much less start a real career. Many find something on the legal fringes like diet supplements, but it is terrible that they can't get a second chance at something legitimate after getting out of prison the first time.

I remembered an old guy in my neighbourhood. He used to go from house to house selling wine gums. A lot of kids got hooked on them.
I saw a lot of good kids go down the wrong path because of him. My friend Josh was one of them. By age 12, he'd lost 9 teeth because of the high sugar content in the wine gums.
Sadly, the cops never caught him and he continued to deal until his death at age 87. I think the cops were too afraid to even try to catch him.
