In The Studio with Ravelle Pillay

The Johannesburg-based painter's practice mines the haunting reverberations of history, extracted from archival photography and inherited memories.
Produced on the occasion of 'Idyll' - Ravelle Pillay’s first large-scale solo exhibition, and first presentation in the UK - this short film goes behind the scenes at the painter's temporary studio at Chisenhale Gallery.
The exhibition comprises new works created in 2022 during a residency at Gasworks, London.
