@Maou Yuu That's his biggest flaw, his inators are made to self destruct which is a good thing but the self destruct button is on the inator, and given how often he is thrown on them, bumps into them, or accidentally throws something at them he should do what his "better" dimension self did and have the button on a remote or better yet in a safe/case that can be opened easily in case of emergencies but is safe from physical trauma.

Vanessa not giving up the doll her father gave her to another child who wants it isn't villainy by any means. It's not even morally wrong. The doll is really important to Vanessa because her father spent 10 years searching for it and never stopped looking. It's a symbol of how much he loves her. To the little girl, it's just another toy. Vanessa has sentimental value attached to that doll and the little girl needs to learn that sometimes you don't get the things you want and someone else has a right to their own stuff, even if you want it. The girl would probably give the doll away or forget about it in a box when she got to Vanessa's age. Vanessa is going to have that doll for the rest of her life because it's a testament to how dedicated her father is. When he passes away, it'll be a memento of him. It's wrong to expect Vanessa to give something like that up because it means so much to her.
I really like the representation of divorcement between doofenshmirtz and his ex wife. Its kind of a trope to make divorce families break up over a fight about something. Has anybody noticed that the supposed "crazy" or "evil" dads in cartoons tend to be really good parents. Ice King is only well Ice King because he had to wear the crown to protect a sick young Marceline. Also he lost Betty but didn't show his grief to Marceline as he knew she doesn't need that. Those two are relatively harmless cause in the episodes they capture the heroes, they don't exactly kill them. Doof often talking to Perry causally and occasionally asking for help and Ice King reading a fan fic story to them while they were in ice (might have done other things, it's been forever since I've seen it)

Doof is probably one of the most healthiest examples of a divorced father in tv. Him being evil isn’t a result of the divorce, but rather bad child hood and he doesn’t enforce that on Vanessa. Despite being divorced, he still is shown to have a great relationship with his ex wife and treats Vanessa the same way. Most shows would have him be evil because he divorced or have him be a deadbeat but he is still friendly with his ex and even goes to great lengths to help Vanessa

Hell even Perry is a good friend to him, Doofenshmirtz asked him on the beach that if he’s a good villain, to which Perry replied with a thumbs up and Doofenshmirtz thanked him for that. And let’s not forget that he too in the end became an OWCA agent since he was raised by Ocelots during a small part of his childhood.
I feel like Doofensmirtz is a good-hearted person and an awesome guy who literally wants to be a villain but fails because of how good hearted he is.

Doofenshmirtz became the father that his own father could never be. He easily could have let his childhood turn him into someone who mistreats his own child but he didn’t. And on top of all that he still tries to be a loving dad despite the fact that he’s “evil”. What a legend.

Me: you don't need to convince anyone, everyone already knows
The fact he throws huge birthday parties for Vanessa since his parents couldn’t care less :(
Bro it hurts
It's like zuko and his children. Aang , katara, and toph weren't exactly good parents. Zuko was traumatized by his father, hence wants to be a good dad himself
I really want someone to talk about how mediocre her mother would’ve been as a role model, every time his daughter stays with her mother it seems almost always she’s never paying attention to her.
I do my best for her
I literally feel so sorry for him
In Ferb's words, "A hero is a hero. But everybody loves a great villain."
Indeed cirno.
Correct
Cartoo episode where candice is made a villain

A good hero to go with the villain is just as good
Like in fairy tail the villain zeref was related to the "hero" (he's more complex than a hero tho) natsu and both their motives made sense. HE WAS ALSO RELATED TO THE WHOLE OF FAIRY TAIL BESIDES NATSU...that level of complexity is non existent in any media
Zeref is a really complex and well written villain
Dr. Doofenshmirtz ain’t just #1 dad but also one of the best characters nobody can change my mind 😭✨

Nah, I love Doof, he ain't a sociopath, just misguided. He has good morals, he just wants to be the best villain because he realized how much he had a passion for science. And evil scientists do unorthodox things so it would make sense that he would want to make inventions that are big and loud to get people's attention. Especially with his history with the rest of the evil scientists lmao, bunch of jerks
Plus, one of the reasons he wanted to take over the tri state area was because he wanted to make his mom proud and beat his brother for once

Just like Megamind. There was no malice in their actions, they are not even planning on killing people for the most part but for them it's all about thinking they were made evil by destiny or fate.
Hugh Neutron was a good dad too, he was dumb but literally supported his son in every aspect.
There was an episode where Jimmy went berserk and hulked out on the town with some technology
And hugh was like, giving him lifting advice lmao
Facts
Doof really got my respect when I grew up. Turns out he is not the most evil person.
I always saw Doof’s backstories as a funny extra clip when I was a kid, now that I’m older I see the depressing side...
Same and in a weird way they feel relatable. I am also pretty sure that Doof is suffering both from a quite severe depression and PTSD that he never really dealt with propperly in his adult life.

XD Damn it, now I'm hearing Daddy Doof
What I like about doofenschmirtz is how his suffering as a child led him to be a more empathetic person towards his kid, and even those around him. On the flip side, the AU doofenschmirtz led a picture perfect life, however he was spoiled all throughout his childhood and grew up to be a controlling psycho. Often times, the most unstable adults are those who were spoiled throughout childhood because they didn't learn how to handle hardship and failure and disappointment for themselves.
Silco (arcane) straight up gave up his dream of his free nation of Zaun and died for his daughter; and Silco was a HARD villain. In the end though Doof was here first, spent more time with his daughter, and comes from a more fun show, so he still wins out.
Silco is an amazing character and dad (last part is a bit controversial, but, honestly, I like him more than my dad so-), but I wouldn’t call his relationship with Jinx healthy… in their case, his trauma really affected their relationship and he projected too much… so, I would say, he is a really loving dad (enough for me), but I wouldn’t call him a good/great dad… not bad though
I still love their relationship and it’s totally fine if you don’t agree with me.
Just because you love your child doesn’t automatically makes you a good parent. Most common example would be helicopter moms. Do they love their kids? Yes immensely so. Is it healthy? No ofc not. Same with silco. He loved jinx but he never tried to resolve her trauma or help her in any way, he just pointed that trauma and aggression in the direction he wanted. So no silco isn’t a good dad
@Danzan Sandeev His attempt to help Jinx was by allowing her free agency and the space she needed to explore her interests. He also attempted to help her cope with her trauma the only way he knew how, by telling her to leave the difficult past behind her and to instead focus on herself and her skills in attempt to create Zhan. He also made Jinx an internal part of his empire in attempt to teach her about responsibility and accountability. What else could a flawed fucked up man like Silco do to help her? It's not like the Undercity had clinical psychiatrists and access to modern medical treatments. He did what all poor people do in 3rd world countries do, teach his child to harden herself and to overcome the terrible hand they have been dealt.

This was deep. They completed each other's insecurities.
He's such a great dad he let his daughter date one of the owners of his nemisis parry the platypus
That's not Perry the Platypus, that's just a regular platypus who happens to be named Perry.
The fact his parents weren't there when he was born is hilarious and depressing at the same time.

Ooh, don't forget Donald biologically he is the boys uncle but as far as the law concern he's their dad. (He adopted them)
Disney makes better fathers than real life at this point
@@Fisinocean Not to mention, In the new reboot of Ducktales they explain how Donald started going to anger management once he heard he was adopting the boys becuase he didn't want to take his anger out on them, and he instead wanted to channel all the rage he had to protect the boys whenever they were in danger. Imo best character arc I've seen in years 👌
And that's just for Max, who was most likely the product of an early one-night-stand Goofy had with the dancer/actress Zenobia. There's a good chance Max was quietly bounced back and forth between the two of them in his early years, but that she left Max with Goof for good in 1992 when she leaves to move to Paris and help manage a hotel.
Goofy used to have another son, named George Jr., with a wife who left the picture a while ago. Jr. had brown hair like his mother, not black hair like Goofy and Max.
Part of the reason I think Goofy breaks his back so hard to get Max's love is because he's scared of losing another son. He tries to be silly, even if it can annoy Max, because he lost his other family when he was being an "Average working man". He used to be more simple and light-hearted when he started out, but when he "matured" in his first marriage, it ended up only pushing his wife and son away. So, he's retuned to a more goofy Goofy, since that's the personality he had when he fell in as Micky's friend, and probably when he attracted his wife in the first place.
People bring up Glory-Bee as another potential mother for Max, but given her genetics and how she felt about Goofy when she was courting him, I don't think she'd leave the picture willingly. There /is/ a chance she could be Max's mother, but it would have been a birth towards the end of her relationship with Goofy. I worry that the harassment she received while chasing Goofy's affections resulted in some nasty mental health issues, compounded by a sudden, unplanned pregnancy. Maybe that's why she disappears? To handle the pregnancy on her own, without wanting to hinder Goofy with it since he had moved on to Zenobia by that time.
Dude, I dunno. Goofy's a hell of a ladies man, tho.
Kathryn S Holy hell. Is any of that actually canon?
He’s even a good dad to his son without even knowing he was his son
Every time him and phineas interact he’s nice and supportive
Doof is literally my top 5 favorite character in Phineas and Ferb. He’s depicted as a villain, yet has an appealing backstory that makes everyone feel bad for him, has a sense of humor, and he’s creative af
The fact that he has a daughter looking like Vanessa, proved that he must've had the best genes to mix with the mom too.
