Master Kuhnau has found a reference ensemble here. Excellent music-making and a very likeable performance. Many thanks

Was für eine wundervolle Interpretation. Ich bin ganz hin und weg. Herzlichsten Dank dafür. Und das Clare mit dem Fuß tippst ist ein ganz besonderes Schmankerl für mich. (the last part contains a Bavarian word, don't know if the translator can get that right)

Such joyful music, performed with obvious relish by SK! One wonders whether the regular attendees at St Thomas’s Leipzig found the guy who succeeded Kuhnau as Cantor found him rather straitlaced by comparison? Whatever happened to him?😊

Fun, but surely the guitar was a bedroom or drawing-room toy, not a serious continuo instrument … any proof of its use in serious music at this time…. kudos especially to the trumpets!

That is not a guitar. It is a theorbo.

There’s a theorbo in SINGET, but he strums a guitar in FROHLOCKET!

I stand corrected. But one must wonder about the use of a Spanish instrument by a group that is ostensibly trying to use the type of instruments that an early 18th century composer in central Saxony would have used.@@AlasPoorEngland
