Railfanning with the Bednars Volume 16

DVD summary below:
In volume 16 of Railfanning with the Bednars, we go back in time a bit to found footage again from the Bednar collection from December 1986 to June of 1987.
We’ll see more of Conrail removing the Lehigh Valley mainline, as well as a birthday trip for Jimmy Hulsman on the Blue Mountain & Reading’s Budd cars, and the rapidly increasing traffic for Conrail.
Unfortunately, as seen in previous volumes, the D&H was in a spiraling downturn of business due to the poor management of Guilford and dwindling traffic. The end was near for the Delaware and Hudson.
During this time, Pop had employed the use of two cameras and would switch cameras when one needed repair, creating a staggered numbering of tapes and an out of sequence timeline. As we review the collection, there may be more tapes with scenes out of sequence in future volumes.
As usual, Big Mike provides the commentary.

These are some of the best videos I have seen. Big Mike knows all when it comes to railroading in northeastern PA. I especially find it hilarious how he rips on Ardmore!! I don't know if it is deserved or not but it's still hilarious!!

I got that local in question. There's technically 2. H66 comes out of Ham and meets with H67 at Lehighton from Hazlton if I recall correctly, they swap their trains, work for a bit, then go their seperate ways. Sadly yes both come into the Lehighton area at 2am while Sunday's the only daylight. It sucks since I have Church on Sundays too. The last routine daylight trains were 36T and 37T both abolished by early 2019. Did the Bednars ever railfan in spots down the Lower Harrisburg line such as Valley Forge, Pottytown, etc? If so that'd be cool to see my territory in better times. Not as dense in traffic even today but it has some VERY sweet sights

See railroads these days aren't amazing as it was the Ole days because most trains now are mostly intermodel don't get me wrong I love railroading but the Ole days seem awsome cause of the wonderful people and interesting variety of trains

Agree but I think conrail should of been temporary because they should of help the north east railroads to either grow or fix their problems.

You do understand that we are a production company. Uploading previews and selling programs on DVD is how we pay our bills. We have expenses just like everyone else. You wouldn't go to work for free, would you?
