The way John's voice fades softly, little by little, at the description of Numenor as it goes down into the sea, "...and its laughter and its mirth and its music; its wisdom and its lore...," lends an extra level of sorrow to the event; couldn't help but tear up a little.

I dont recommended falling to sleep listening about the downfall of anything too often. What you hear in your sleep has a tendency to linger in your subconscious mind amd may have aome unpleasant side effects. I would recommend falling asleep to anything optimistic, adventurous or mysterious, as long as its not a dark story about a powerful nation turning against God and God sending down his wrath and completely wiping that nation off the map. Especially when it involves human sacrifices, worshipping the devil/Morgoth and being misled and manipulated by a demon/Sauron/ Amazon Studios/Disney+/ Modern Hollywood lol
..... you're aware this is all fiction right? Including everything you just said???
