    • @laughingstalk1343

The main advantage of the V6 engine is packaging. The V6 engine is basically shaped like a cube, which makes it easy to fit under a car hood longitudinally or transversely, as car hoods get shorter for aerodynamic purposes. It's shorter in length than an inline-4 or inline-6.
It's not as smooth as an inline-6, however, and needs a separate balance shaft to smooth out vibrations.

    • @monkmoto1887
      @monkmoto1887 Před 3 lety

@@calvinnyala9580 no it wouldn't, that 250 is already pushing what it can do. You'd have to trade compression for boost. And your heat and metallurgical ceiling are really low. And a supercharger takes power from the engine to run. So you're trading power to run the supercharger to make maybe 5 extra wheel horsepower, which was maybe 15 hp but you lost 10 of those running the supercharger, on a 50 horsepower engine. Its literally a bad idea and that's why kawasaki or any motorcycle company won't supercharge a bike under 1000cc, and on the side they probably won't turbo anything smaller than a 600/650 because it has to provide more benefit than cost. Which it won't on a 300cc motor.

In my area if I wanted an Mt07 I have to pay a 500 dollar deposit and wait half a year to get it and that’s without ever having the opportunity to sit on it. So my decision to go with the z650 was in part due to convenience. My local kawi dealer had it in stock and would let me sit on it and it was cheap for the value (2021 model). I agree with you Yammie, about how plain the Z650 is. I still own a 2019 Kawasaki Z650 that I bought in April 2019 and love it. The only thing that I don't like about my Z650 are the short gearing; at 36 mph, the manual recommends that you should be on 6th gear. I don't see Kawasaki having a problem dishing out money to develop a new engine though, lets not forget that Kawasaki is a conglomerate that have their hands on aerospace, building/structure, luxury cruise ships, and other engineering related fields; an example is the Kawasaki ZH2 which is claimed to be an all-in-house development and manufacturing with the assistance of their aerospace department (reference: Kawasaki USA CZcams Channel of their recent video press release of their 2021 model lineup that was release on 11/22/2020).

The design is very neutral. Versatile.
    Let me explain.
I have the Givi 3 piece luggage on this bike, it is my main mode of transportation.
75% city use, 25 % highway use. The parallel twin has smooth and adequate torque right where I need it. Each engine configuration has its pros and cons, the parallel twin suits my needs the best.
It is light and very nimble with excellent brakes, which I love since I started learning moto gymkhana last year.
Yes, the stock springs are light, I put heavier ones.
Yes, it sounds like a lawnmower, but I don't care.
As my riding skills have improved ( I have spent a lot of time practicing ), it is as I have gotten a new and improved bike. I have learned to extract more from the bike by such as proper gear changes, this is what I mean by a very neutral design. This bike improves more than the other bikes you mentioned if you concentrate on improving your skills.
In my opinion this bike is a very thought out design. It is not a boring bike in my opinion, it is a bike that the rider has to extract the character. Maybe a blank page is the best analogy.
    Just my opinion.
    Thanks.

I'm 46 at 245 pounds (I know .. daddy bid) 5'9" ... and I had motocross and such while younger but then just car and pickup truck ... I want a bike that would be not too nervous and can do long ride (3 to 4 hrs road highway and such to go see family) and otherwise maybe some commute and around town ... I would like something not too wheelie nervous as I am not planning to do wheelies and something safe enough to corner easy (not at high speed) at my age I like power but a safe one ... so Z650 or MT-07 ? still trying to be decent on insurance also .. and I am scared that I would regret a z400... thanks

Its not the Dodge Hellcat of motorcycles for sure. Most of the favorable reports on the kawasakis with the 650 motor come out of Europe the UK or California where there are things like mountains or coast lines to ride. I think I'll be a try hard on this one.
Because of the others dealers reputation and location, I had to go on a dealer that made kawasaki and suzuki for my first motorcycle. but instead of the SV, I'll go for the Z. Mostly because of the look (I'll make some custom stuff, but far less than with a SV). I know it's not a fun bike like the others, but you know, i'm 40 so ... throw me tomatoes, I'll catch them and make a sauce.

To Yammie, everything that isn't a Yamaha is boring and YOU SHOULD NOT BUY THIS BIKE 😅🤣

When we hear that 180-degree parallel twin sound, we think, "Ninja 250/300/400," the bike many of us learned to ride on. It just sounds "entry'level."

      @@laughingstalk1343 I think the ninja use a 360 crankshaft, the R3 has a 180

@@grumpybraincells6612 the Kawasaki W800 uses a 360-degree crankshaft, as does the old BMW F800R and Benelli Leoncino. They emit a distinctive sound, different from the 180-degree Ninjas. Kawasaki chooses the 180-degree crank for fuel economy, high revving, and relative smoothness in their beginner bikes.
