"Criticism as a compliment..." Love it.
Reminds me similar sentiment I've heard in the past: Piss someone off = you're doing something right.
    Thanks for the reminder!

Sir thank you very very much. I was actually in really depressive state of mind because I have been tremendously criticized in my office in spite of performing a lot better than the others. After listening to your video, I am feeling so much positive now.

Thank god for this video. I've played in my football team a very long time now. And i'm confident that i must be the best player in the team overall. In fact, I can play outstanding in every position the coach gave me. Unfortunately, there are always ups and downs and i was heavily criticised after 2 bad games. I start losing my confidence but now i can understand everything well. I will make sure i do the right things to fullfill my dreams of becoming a pro footballer. Thank you

    Thank you Robin!
I just had an idea that could just help my organization. I tried to sell my idea to my fellow Management Trainees, but only got feedback that its too much for us to shoot for.
When I dug deeper, they were indeed full of fear on what is to happen,:that we might be overstepping boundaries or even present outputs that are worthless. You're point really addressed that. This video reinvigorated me to pursue it further.
Time to review on their points and do some revisions. I'll make this idea work!

CRITICS are necessary for your development. it is true that if you are developed your self and enhanced some qualities so some will criticize you. it indicates that you have developed your self. i have own experiences that you got promotion so your related people will jealous to you because you become little higher. critics are not realized your efforts and he is observing your negative points.so we must be follow our own path and critics are and will be there. so do not think over on them.

    this is excellent
constantly, while going to and at school, I'm faced with sharp reproach . . just because I attempt to rise above everyone else in pursuing my goals and standards, and especially so when I achieve them
my teachers always give me shit, in attempt to level me out, as they hate inequality; but really, the problem is that they hate themselves . . and their life
I try not to back down; I try to respect myself, but sometimes I just fall apart . . though, I won't give-in-totheircreed

It will help you grow faster if you listen to what those who critizise you actually have to say instead of ignoring the subject to focus on how they just try to "bring you down".
Focusing on ignoring critique is giving power to the ego.
Try understanding the essense of the critique instead of finding names for negative personality-traits of those who are kind enough to formulate words you can grow from.

Hey, I love Robin Sharma. But I have a couple of questions. 1. When should I go to sleep if I am going to wake up at 5 AM? 2. If I am going to do this constantly, do you have any suggestions for summer, because during the holidays I don't want to go to bed so early at 9pm..

  • @walkenfan
    @walkenfan Před 12 lety

In other words: Don't listen to anybody else. Focus on your goals and what is important for you and diss others' opinions/thoughts/feelings. He seems to suggest that any critisim stems from jealousy/envy. No mention of constructive criticism. Just push aside anything you don't want to hear and carry on. Be selfish. Wow. Can you imagine telling people to behave this way, say in a communication or interpersonal skills course, and expect to create a respectful, loving community/society? So wrong...

I think you've given a straw man argument. He was simply talking about
criticism in the social context of having the sole purpose of making someone feel bad, putting them down and not helping in any way. Like if you were practicing singing and someone said "you're dumb". That is not constructive and is best ignored. Also consider some are more sensitive, which is a good thing but they have to work harder not to internalize non constructive criticism. Questioning the source is a wise thing.
