    I'm British and over here you either get postcrete or normal cement, you don't get this high strength concrete. Postcrete is in short demand due to Brexit so I can only get concrete.
    I really aren't sure what I should do. Would getting normal cement and adding fiberglass to strengthen it be enough? Or would I need to add sand to the cement mix? I don't want to add rocks/gravel to it to strengthen it as it would make the plates too lumpy.
    I've been looking all over the internet and I can't find an answer.

    • @Bensux
      @Bensux Před rokem +1

      I know this is a year late, but for anyone else that's looking for an answer:
      Concrete is what you call the mixture of _cement,_ _sand,_ plus an agregate like _gravel_
      If that's what you can get your hands on, then that's all you need, just add water.
      If you can only get pure cement (just the powder), then you would need to also get some _river sand_ (fine river sand) to mix in with your cement, the additional aggregate (gravel) is optional. There's different ratios you can use when mixing the sand and cement (1 part cement to 2 parts sand, etc).

Maybe high strength concrete in the US is what postcrete is here but I really don't know, that's what I'm struggling with. Sand and shit is what makes cement strong and into concrete you see. I wouldn't want to use cement with fiberglass in and for it to be rubbish or whatever.

    Anyone know what these breakdown to cost per pound? Just curious about the money saved with DIY vs just buying plates.
    Thanks.

      The 80 lbs bag of concrete that I bought was $6.47 so it would be roughly ¢.08/pound

    Save fucking about buying a mold for $45 just buy a 73 litre bucket for $10 and does the same job. Also you don’t need reinforcement wire or bars if you are using high strength concrete, but make sure you leave the plate to cure for at least 7 days as it will then have 70% strength. 1 month would be 100% strength I’d say.
