Helsingin Sompasaareen nousee uusi merellinen asuinalue noin 3 000:lle asukkaalle.
Tavoitteena on luoda ympäristö, jossa hyödynnetään rantojen mahdollisuuksia.
Alue on osa entistä Sörnäisten satama-aluetta ja sijaitsee Kalasataman eteläpuolella.
Sompasaari (ruots. Sumparn) onsaari Kruunuvuorenselällä Helsingissä ja Sörnäisten
kaupunginosan osa-alue. Sompasaaren keskelle rakennetun Nihdinkanavan eteläisellä puolella on Nihti, joka on myös entinen saari.
Saari yhdistettiin aikoinaan täyttömaalla mantereeseen ja se jäi Sörnäisten sataman alle.
Tämän johdosta Sörnäisten satamaa kokonaisuudessaan on kutsuttu myös Sompasaareksi. Satamaan johtavilla teillä käytettiin tienviitoissa yksinomaan nimeä Sompasaari varustettuna tavarasataman tunnuksella. Satamatoiminnot lakkasivat vuoden 2008 lopussa niiden siirryttyä uuteen Vuosaaren satamaan. Vuonna 2016 saari muutettiin asuinalueeksi ja se erotettiin Kalasatamasta kaivamalla osa-alueiden väliin Sompasaarenkanava. (Wikipedia)

Uusi Suomi - Finland - See the wonderful landscape aerial photography of the new residential area in the November morning sun.
A new seaside residential area for about 3,000 residents will be built in Sompasaari, Helsinki.
The goal is to create an environment where the possibilities of the beaches are utilized.
The area is part of the former Sörnäinen harbor area and is located south of Kalasatama.
Sompasaari (Swedish: Sumparn) is an island on Kruunuvuorenselka in Helsinki and a subdivision of the Sörnäinen district. On the south side of Nihdinkanava built in the middle of Sompasaari is Nihti, which is also a former island.
The island was once connected to the mainland by filling the land and it remained under the port of Sörnäinen. Because of this, Sörnäinen harbor as a whole has also been called Sompasaare. On the roads leading to the port, the road signs used exclusively the name Sompasaari with the logo of the cargo port. Port operations ceased at the end of 2008 after they moved to the new Vuosaari port. In 2016, the island was converted into a residential area and it was separated from Kalasatama by digging the Sompasaare Canal between the subdivisions. (Wikipedia)

Kun tuolla kävelee ja äimistelee, niin kyllä tykkään. (ensin hirvitti) Sompasaaressa ja Kalasatamassa on niin paljon kuitenkin kävelyteitä rantaviivassa ja luontokohteet lähellä.
