    Glad to be there when young Kalle become world champion again. He reminds me of a young Loeb in his mentality and approach to the rallies. Hope to see him again on the top podium next year.

    Hyundai will never catch up unless it improves it's reliability which includes riding off Neuville

    • @Franko384
      @Franko384 Před 7 měsíci +2

      Why would Hyunday want to get rid of Neuville? He's a rally winning driver! Also, improving reliability is up to the engineers. Not the drivers.

    • @tominatorxx
      @tominatorxx Před 7 měsíci +2

      I didn't know Neuville designed and built the Hyundai suspensions... That's interesting to know...
      3 mechanical failures vs 1 for Kalle. 1 driver mistake (Croatia) vs 1 from Kalle (Finland).
      Look at the whole championship:
      3 wins for Kalle vs 2 for Thierry
      3 2nd places for Kalle vs 4 for Thierry
      1 3rd place for Kalle vs 2 for Thierry
      4 4th places for Kalle vs 0 for Thierry
      0 5th places for Kalle vs 1 for Thierry
      Other results of them didn't earn them any points.
      Say whatever you want, but Neuville has been extremely consistent throughout the whole season. More so than Kalle, actually. (8 podium finishes vs 7 for Kalle). Hyundai's suspension was already a huge issue last year, and it still is (2 of those mechanical failures of Thierry's car were the suspension). As well-earned as it is (because of course he drove really well), Kalle won this year's title thanks to the reliability of the Toyota. Because truthfully, he wasn't necessarily faster than Neuville, as those podium finishes show.

      @@tominatorxx To be fair. There is a lot of gravel rallies and Kalles been cleaning the road for everybody. If he would have started every rally from 2-4th position. I think hes wins and podiums would look very different. In some rallies you give 1 minute in first day, only hope is there would be rain. Impossible to drive it back in Saturday and Sunday. Not to mention Ogier starting from back and winning some rallies and "stealing" victories and point.

    While Kelle has been the best full time driver the last two years, nobody is going to look back in 20 years, and say that these last two seasons had great battles, with great driving. These Rally1 cars are very difficult to get setup, and drive well, and the last two seasons every driver has struggled at times with these cars, including Kelle. Kelle has only 3 wins this year, Ogier, a part time driver also has 3 wins, Thierry, and Ott both have 2 wins, and they haven't had a good year. Kelle has won again this season with a very mediocre performance. Hopefully next year we'll have a proper battle for the driver's championship.

      With this many gravel rallies Kalle is giving a very big handicap with cleaning the road every time. Ogier sometimes driving for fun and taking victories with good starting position from the back. Example in Finland, even 30s is too much to come back in saturday and sunday, grid is very competitive

      The two greatest rally drivers, Loeb, and Ogier, consistently won while sweeping the road. Kelle has always struggled when first on the road, this is just one of the many reasons why he isn't at the same level as Loeb, and Ogier, and it's so stupid for people to compare him to those guys.

      @@neoone75 Yes tires have huge difference but I think even bigger one is that sweeping the road has much higher impact the more powerful the cars are because the ones coming later for the stages can use much more power without just spinning tires than the lead car.
      Also there used to be more tarmac rallies back then where the roles are reversed like we saw in this rally.
