Babymetal (Japanese: ベビーメタル, Hepburn: Bebīmetaru) (stylized in all caps) is a Japanese kawaii metal band consisting of Suzuka Nakamoto as "Su-metal" and Moa Kikuchi as "Moametal". The band is produced by Kobametal from the Amuse talent agency. Their vocals are backed by heavy metal instrumentation, performed by a group of session musicians known as the "Kami Band" at performances.
The band was formed in 2010, with the original lineup of Su-metal (vocal and dance), Moametal (scream and dance), and Yui Mizuno as "Yuimetal" (scream and dance), with the concept of creating a fusion of the heavy metal and Japanese idol genres. Originally a sub-unit of the Japanese idol group Sakura Gakuin, Babymetal became an independent act in 2013, following Nakamoto's departure from Sakura Gakuin. Babymetal released their eponymous debut album in February 2014. Their second album Metal Resistance was released worldwide in April 2016. Babymetal has also embarked on several tours, with a majority of their tour dates taking place outside of Asia. The group released their third album Metal Galaxy in October 2019.
On October 19, 2018, Babymetal announced that Yui Mizuno had decided to leave the band due to poor health, following her absence from live performances since December 2017. Since her departure, the band has performed with backup dancers at live performances. In 2019, the band introduced three backup dancers called "Avengers" who performed in rotation at each live show to form a trio with Moametal and Su-metal.

Also, can confirm that this song is a roof blower and meant to be played live.
The whole stadium went insane when they busted this out, it's a call and response type track and some girls next to us started crying and screaming as they danced.
The last album was meant to be a more serious concept album. So songs are not of the this type, no crowd hype songs like Metali.
That doesn't mean they can't still do that ! And I think they've proven that really well 🙂

It's been a while man. Pump that heart beat display up coz this song is totally bonker and will drain your soul jumping mad at live concerts.
They already live premiere this a couple of days ago at Apocrypha exclusive live concert for fans (2nd day) and everyone were having a blast and even starting with a Kami Band intro, of course we're waiting for more next festival such Summer Sonic, Aftershock, Louder Than Life and every other live concert.
It's their first song released with this new BM reborn and formation, MomoMetal is showing here why she deserves to be in this group and having her own spotlight.🍑❤️
Just so you know "wasshoi" is another shout used in Japanese festival when carry the shrines, similar to sore and soya you heard in Megitsune.
I can totally see why they pick Tom Morello on this, the groove, the catchiness, the super energetic jump and those typical 90's vibes at funk or alternative metal live concerts.
If you wanna share the official MV songs of the new album i don't think you'll get any blocked issues coz no one is having it. There are already live clips taken from the WOWOW stream and DVD/BD already out of recent live concerts at Makuhari Messe 2023 and PIA Arena MM 2023, you gotta be careful with those putting some logo and filters, NLMetal got some with logo and the clean version in the description for you to enjoy.

All the songs on the other one album were from 5 years ago when they were recording for the metal Galaxy album this is the first new song featuring all three members of the new Babymetal with momoko
To drop this while on tour was a bold move here. Completely out of left field and am absolutely loving it. Su-Metals vocals were completely f**** next level even for her. The Kubuki theatre theme actually really is kind of brilliant here.
Momoko actually used to perform this on stage in the past. She is very familiar with it so it made me stoked Babymetal is embracing her unique talents. Great reaction as well BTW!! 🤘🦊🎸🔥

Whatever venue allows this song live, had better have very good roof insurance, because the audience is going to tear the roof off. The song is a genius call-and-response song, because anywhere in the world the audience can say, "so-re", "dokkoisho", and wasshoi". Very high energy and fun. If BabyMetal really wants to murder their audience, in addition to having Tom Morello play his bits live, they should have Beni Ninagawa from the Wagakki Band shred the Shamisen parts. The audience would die, but they would die happy. Also, I'm really loving the Kabuki elements in this video. It looks like Momoko has some training in the Kabuki theater, because she did her bit brilliantly.

It feels like THE OTHER ONE was an introduction to a new era for BABYMETAL. It was awesome and introduced a more mature sound yet kept the contrasts that made them so groundbreaking. Now here we are full into the new era and are getting the hype songs.

This wasn't on the Other One album because that was a concept album, not meant to have to same sound as the previous albums. That's why this song has that typical kawaii metal sound to it. Metali will be on their next album, which Kobametal will deem as BM's official 4th album. Probably next year.

The Other ONE is my favorite album overall. It's definitely more serious than this one which is pure craziness... and I love it.

@@shizzyreactsHere’s some interesting trivia. “The Other One” is supposed to be a “spinoff”(quote from Su herself during an interview). Notice how the album artwork had the Babymetal logo scratched out with “The Other One” replacing it. Fun fact, in Babymetal lore, “The One” is what they refer to as their fans and the fans are considered a part of Babymetal, as evidenced how their music requires a lot of audience participation. So The Other One is literally referring to an alternate universe version of Babymetal where they are very serious in their tone and less audience dance interaction. But to step away from the fictional stuff. I think the more practical reason they released that album was to not only provide some new material after returning from their hiatus but to also express the sentiment to the metalhead community that they are more than just a “kawaii metal” band which I think their third album was attempting to deviate from anyway.

This song was MADE for crowd participation and flash mobs lol. Sooooo much energy. I can see the girls having the best time of their lives performing this. Smiling every second of it too. I can't wait to see this LIVE. I got a taste of it from a leaked video and it was wild. Momometal even added a growl after the spoken parts. And it was confirmed by Flugelhornoldman who was THERE, that is was Momometal growling the words "Are you ready?!" 🤘🦊🤘 And I am going to keep copy pasting this to piss off Hymnodic who thinks he knows better than the fans who were actually there.

Yeah, except for Monochrome, I've reheard this more than any song on the album. The main criticism I had for the album is it lacked heaviness. Well, they can still bring it.

You're the first reviewer I've seen who's mentioned the Shanti Shanti similarities. I listen a lot to Indian pop and, yes, this one borrows heavily from Indian bangla music.
This is essentially a party song -- much as I love The Other One there wasn't all that much *fun* tracks on it. This one is.
And yeah, that Momo moment was a first - her doing kabuki narration. Awesome to see her get a bit of spotlight on her own.

If you listen to the song Gaddaar from Bloodywood, there are a lot of similarities. Especially the beginning. It's almost exactly the same.
True I like it a lot better than all the stuff on the last album. But I also didn't like Metal Galaxy much except maybe 3 songs.
This is at least more guitar focused and has some dynamics.

I think this is too upbeat for The Other One. That album was more sombre and this song is an outright party. Even Su’s voice sounds different to me. Awesome stuff.
