I’ve been really digging your videos. Thanks for doing these. I had a pair of jeans custom made for me by a small company outside of Olympia called TinDuck Denim Co. It’s a one-man operation and the guy has been a sail maker for 16 years who specializes in tin cloth jackets and pants for local loggers. After having a pair of custom jeans made to my measurements, I don’t know if I can ever go back! Of course, they’re a bit more pricey at $160 but he hit the nail on the head perfectly and did every little thing I asked. Gusset in the crotch, doubled knees, heavy canvas lined pockets, 10oz canvas pocket bags. These things have worn like iron, are made in the US and are local to me. Can’t beat that.
Good stuff. Thanks for the comparisons...it helps.
Great videos! Like clothes which made in USA
Try Origin Maine. Their denim is also made in the US
BRAVE STAR!!!
I bought the Raw James from Kimes Ranch and I love those jeans! And I also have Iron Hearts...so go Brave Star!!!
Hmm.. glad I saw this, was about to go with kimes but probably find something else. Always liked kuhl jeans maybe just stick with those.
Than you for the review! I’m just trying to find what’s closest to the 1990’s 501’s. Those were the jeans which most all Big Outfit Buckaroo Cowboys used to run. They’re probably even partially responsible for keeping Levi’s in business around that time when they were struggling with overwhelming amounts of competition due to style & also Sears closings. Anyway, 501’s are simply NOT built anywhere near to the standards that they once were & if Levi’s can’t get it right, then I hope somebody has. The search continues… 😂
I have heard lots of complaints about kimes regarding the fit and how well they hold up as far as work jeans.
Fit was an issue for me, had to go through several styles. From a durability perspective, I would say Filson is the winner, much heavier fabric. Kimes is the winner on comfort. I would consider them medium duty.
@@northwestfarmdad5891 thank you very much. I really appreciate your speedy response. I didn’t wanna blow money on a pair pants that would fall apart.
The t-shirts are long for tucking in, is what I understand
Makes sense. I’m just not used to tucking in a printed t-shirt.
I have purchased several pair of Dearborn Denims. Hit and miss for fit. Used to like the convenience and quick shipping but the company has grown to the extent that they simply don’t deliver the goods and their comms on this last order (still not received after three weeks) have been non existent…. Looks like I’ll be looking for a new source.
Did the Schaefer jeans shrink on you at all?
The jeans did not, the canvas did in the waist by about 1/2 inch; but they stretched back out after wearing them for an hour.
@@northwestfarmdad5891 thank you
Just wish they looked better and were more affordable. Just can't justify $80+ for a pair of jeans I'm going to work in.
Do you say the same for workboots?
J.Bean Jeans are best,
many styles and fits
available,,Filson is not
what it use to be,,very
expensive,,!
March 2023, Dearborn Denim, don't do it, run away. I owned three pairs. After five months washing and wearing, the blue dye is not set correctly in the denim. The blue indigo still rubs off all over the sofa, leather car seats, carpet, even my kitchen counter. $200 in the donation bag.
