Maybe after sounding out the PD phrase word by word, say it the way you'd say it naturally. Also, I'd say "Bisch'de faddig?" instead of "Bischt du reddi?" Awwer des Video iss wunnerbar!

@Doug, i did a little bit of light reading on the etymologie of "gleichen" meaning to like something. It appears that this could be a "false friend" that became a word? from adopting the english "like" which can mean to like as well as meaning alike. gleich only means alike in german and dutch and all the way back to proto germanic. maybe someone just translated "to like" as "gleichen" and it was adopted? anyway, i really would like to know the actual etymology if you know it.

@@PADutch101 does the german word also exist in PA Dutch? for example moegen? Sorry US keyboard has no umlauts
Where I'm from in Germany there is usually a degree to which people speak the local dialect. Usually the older or more rural population has a heavier dialect but usually everyone is on a spectrum between Standard German and local dialect. Is it the same for PA Dutch or is it more that either people speak it or they just don't?
Sadly, there are very few younger people that can still speak the dialect here. So most people will speak English, unless they are with someone who does speak the dialect. Of course, among the Amish, all ages speak the dialect.
