Videos like this help me so much. I have recently graduated and finding a job has been difficult and it has impact my confidence. Sometimes it’s good to hear someone breakdown steps I can take to help myself rather than getting in my own way. Thank you 😊

As an employer I think this is excellent, practical advice for anyone starting out. Although I’ve never actually been in a position to recruit at graduate level myself, I’m currently working with a number of recent graduates within the Civil Service and agree that their enthusiasm is infectious!
One question which comes to my mind though is: as an interviewer it’s easy to focus on the outgoing and enthusiastic candidates. But not everyone is like that (and some people will gain more confidence as they get older). So if someone is naturally quiet and introverted AND doesn’t have much experience, I wonder how they can be noticed.

Yes, good point. Something that I will think about too.

This is my biggest issue and as an introvert im having to really bring out extraverted qualities just to have a chance at something. Right now the labour market is tight and most companies choose to hire internally which adds to the challenge of finding a role after university

Haha so frustrating to find the most aesthetic youtube set up, can totally relate!
These were some really good tips, I hope the right people find it and benefit from it.

Hey Jac, I thought I'd write here since its your latest video and better chance of you seeing it :) I watched your MoJ behaviour videos a week before my interviews (several times) and I planned my answers thoroughly based on your advice. Luckily! I only got say 2 behaviour questions out of the 10 questions they asked me. Buttt I'm so glad i was so prepared for it anyway, and i just want to say thank you! The interview went amazingly - they offered me the job! And if it wasnt for your help, I wouldn't have been so prepared and therefore felt more comfortable.
I know you must get a lot of thank yous? But honestly, I am so grateful for your help - I graduated University in 2021, started a job soon after in HR for 4 months and now I've landed this job. I was feeling a bit disheartened when all the jobs I was applying to rejected me.. that post grad life failure feeling really hit.
So THANK YOU AGAIN SO MUCH!
I wish you the best and all the success in your career! You're an amazing person!

As an recent graduate, this is perhaps one of the best job advise I've ever seen as it's really practical and helps me to gain some confidence in my job hunting and it's always nice to have someone break it down for me when I was struggling to pass the interview recently.
    Thank you Jac

Jac I hope you've recovered from covid! Excited to watch this video! I meant to add, idk if this is as big a thing in the UK but in Ireland, college clubs / societies are often used as examples for people in grad jobs in interviews. For my first civil service job, just from naturally talking I mentioned how I was the president of my unis Japanese society... and as you say, interpersonal skills, leadership. The interviewers were very interested! I started giving an example about ordering tea and arranging a tea morning and the interviewer saying "you'll fit right into the civil service as you drink so much tea!" Hahhah! I 100% agree on attitude too, and not thinking certain tasks are beneath you!

Do you have advice for me?! Here is my situation! My mom is homeless and lives out of her van and I don’t have other family so I put myself through school with federal loans and working full time. I just graduated and I just got my student loan bill for the first payment. They want me to pay 630$ a month 🥲 on top of rent and my other bills and the debt I have from my credit card I would have to give up my apartment and live in my car to make those payments or get a job that I would be making atleast 3000 a month right now I’m working a job making about 2300 with benefits but it’s just retail. I’m panicking inside and considering joining the military.

Hi, recently i was impressed by one of my interview question. Would you mind help me with this? Describe a time when you have communicated with someone from a different background or culture. How did you approach the situation?
