  • If your suspension is squeaking a lot when you’re going over bumps or driving it down the road give this try it might fix the problem for you.
If you’re still experiencing issues after adding grease contact tesla service for a replacement/diagnostic evaluation.

Used a grease needle to inject fresh grease into the rubber housing on the ball joint, then used a lot of silicone lubricant on the control arm joints where they connect to the vehicle body (looked a bit rusty). Still squeaking the next day, but drove about 100 miles and all squeaking/creaking is now gone! I removed the tire to get a little more room for the spray can, but i don't think it was necessary.

Well done! The first time I did it on mine I wasn’t sure if I put enough grease into it. It started to squeak a few months later so I added a lot more.

I removed the bolt, separated the ball joint and then removed the ring clip that holds the boot. There was a thumbnail of lithium grease inside not nearly enough. I added more grease, worked the joint till I could with my pinky then filled the boot up and reinstalled everything. That was at 18k miles 3 years ago now 85k miles and no issues. I occasionally manage the boot to move the grease around when rotating my tires.

@@att2976 it was pretty straight forward, the ring clip is a pain to get back on and i removed the bolt and lifted the ball joint out so I could articulate it and work grease into the joint. I caught it right when I heard the noise so I was confident it was not damaged. I have not done the lower joints but Its still on my list.

Pretty much. Are you thinking the heat and dry air caused the issues?

I used a silicone (safe for bushings) lubricant. Please let me know if it helps. I make these videos to try to help out other owners. It’s good to know if it was helpful or not.

The boot could be better designed that’s for sure. Or put a port on the top so it can be greased.
