- Just a quick video on the Central Boiler CL6048 and lubricating the solenoid. A very easy thing to keep up with. Preventative maintenance is very important and will always keep you out of a "sticky" situation in the future! See what I did there!!

Just got this model Burner and hooked it up and when it opens it hums very loud. Haven’t lubed it yet but I’m hoping when I do it quiets down and functions properly. New one I saw is only $60. Thanks for the video

I’d definitely be interested in seeing the led damper light and counter you come up with. Our boiler faces away from our home and a 5648 central boiler.

I did do the LED indicator. It is really convenient since my boiler faces away from the house

I did not end up making a video. I bought a 120VAC LED indicator off of Amazon and then wired it into the same wire as the damper door solenoid. When the damper opens, the light comes on.
Do you fill your boiler with softened water or regular? How often till you drain and refill? I see there is much debate on soft water and the salt content. Alternative heating and supply recommends draining and refilling yearly with new chemicals.
I fill with regular well water. I have had the same water in my system for 6 years now. I monitor the levels monthly but don’t feel the need to flush and spend the money on chemicals again
I have a similar central boiler and it's not getting power to it and keeps tripping the inside breaker any ideas ? Much appreciated
Bad motor on circulating pump? Could be pulling excessive amperage
Currently have it plugged in with a extension cord and it's working just have to manual open it for air. It's like 6 degrees and the breaker keeps tripping inside
That is odd. So maybe it’s the solenoid on the door that is shorted and popping the breaker
Checked the fuse inside the door and replaced it and you think it might be the dampener door fuse ?
I’m not sure. It wouldn’t make sense that the fuse being blown would then trip the breaker. You’ve got a direct shirt or a high amperage draw to be tripping the breaker

Nice video man! I do the exact same thing each year. Literally same thing haha step for step! That is the easy part...getting the creosote off the inside walls and back section sucks!!! I have to gear and mask up for that!

I can't get my solenoid to stop buzzing really loud on my 4436 classic. The unit is used. The solenoid is brand new.
Did the old one buzz? Mine makes noise to some degree. I’ve found that sometimes the little cotter pins buzz with the vibration and I have to tighten them up
My 6048 does the same thing from time to time it's working fine but has no rhyme or reason to when it is going to buzz the draft door opens and shuts as needed no problems with creosote stove temperature is fine I keep a extra solenoid on hand just in case

anti seize is the best for the solenoid.
Yeah I could agree somewhat with that. Anti-seize often gets very thick and sticky with age and cold weather so I like to use a petroleum based silicone spray.
