Do you have any questions about using timecode in your workflow?
Had some trouble manually jamming the TC-1's from another mixers bag this week using the auto setting, would love a primer on integration with other systems if it's not already made. Love the slate (just got mine today) and TC-1 boxes!
@@Triumphist what mixer and what cable were you using?
@@DeityMicrophones using a bnc to 3.5mm jamming from an SD 833. It was odd because I jamms fine from my bags (Zoom f8n and SD 633). I assumed it was user error 🤣, but still want to figure it out, because I honestly think your boxes are superior to many of the alternatives.
Also can you sync up the other boxes you have to the box you jam, or do all TC-1's need to be jammed from the same source?
How would I use the slate with other timecode devices like the Tentacle sync and track E?
Have I just invested in the wrong Sound system or can I get the slate at timesync it with the other systems?
I just bought it. I've been waiting for a Smart Slate like this one for years. Cheaper, USBC, replaceable battery, menu screen. You even have a Bluetooth connection.
@crystalballoonstudio any thoughts on the deity slate after using for a while?
Just got mine ! I’m excited!
What an excellent product
So many features!
Superb product !!!!!!!
Lovely!
This is just what I need! Are you currently shipping to Argentina?! Thanks in advance!
Ok, I gotta say it... that is a damn fine lookin' slate. 🤩
Lol
Wow!
Music videos… want to get MUSIC TRACK’s timecode into the slate! What is the simplest route to get there?
If i were to get the TC-SL1, can that be used in itself as a way to push TC to something like the Blackmagic Cameras and or the Zoom products? Or do we need the little TC boxes also. Cheers
Ideally you'd also want boxes on each device like camera and audio. But it would work in your case as long as you re-jammed each device every few hours to prevent drift.
Is the slate itself backlit? I hate having to shine a light on it in dark conditions.
I think that need wait full OLED Slate ( like some iPad apps ) and use it without markers.
Hi there, you mentioned being able to do everything on smart slate and not needing app but I checked everywhere and cannot find how to set Time of Day on slate (out to TCs) without using the app. Can it be done? If so, direct me to the how to. Thanks!!
You could just generate time of day timecode on your audio recorder and slave the slate to that, I would think. I always use my audio recorder as the master timecode.
i have been emailing but getting no response. regarding representation in Malta.
When can I get this in south korea??
Do you guys have a distributor for korea?
CHeck out AVX Korea
Can you set the SL1 so the time code is reset to the initial time code every time after each clap. Next clap gets back and starts on time zero. I need to have all my takes aligned to the same start time code for easy editing in post. Not consecutively.
Why do I need a digital slate?
It’s not necessary, but if you’re a professional audio guy that works with different clients, it’s always nice to work the way they are used to working. The more you ask your clients to accommodate you, the less likely you are to get called back. Plus, it just makes a really good impression. But make it the last thing you buy, definitely not a high priority item.
@@mariomanti-gualtiero1228 what I mean is, why do you need Timecode on a slate?
@@tolltolga It’s helpful in post for sync purposes. When the camera sees the slate, you’re essentially burning the timecode into the picture. That can help the editor easily find a sync point if for some reason there was a bad timecode connection on the camera. It’s not a necessity, but I’ve been on some productions where the timecode slate has already been part of their workflow. If I’m walking into a new situation, I don’t want to make the editor change the way they work.
A timecode slate is extremely helpful for the post folks if you're shooting film. Also helpful for post if they cannot read the timecode on video files in their NLE.
Piece of junk, terrible customer service. After two months the small screen on the back stopped working. Unable to change settings so it's useless. I emailed support which took forever for them to get back to me, and now I've been waiting for nearly a month as to when they will ship replacement. I keep on getting the runaround and excuses like supply chain issues, etc, meanwhile everyone has this slate in stock, including distributors. People need to know that if they buy this and it stops working, they will not get professional customer service. You're just gambling $1000. I feel as if I will never get my replacement slate. They won't give an clear answer as to when. Everything is up in the air. Sucks. I'm bummed.
Identical story here in Vancouver.
I paid nearly $1500.00 for this piece of trash with ZERO support!
Shame on you Diety.
