  • This is a video tutorial on how to draft a basic bodice pattern with shoulder darts. This basic bodice fits the body perfectly without any gaping. The method for drafting the basic bodice is inspired by Dennic Chunman Lo.
The drafting method is simple enough even for beginners in pattern drafting.
    Enjoy :):)

thank you for this!! i love your sunny demeanor as well as your clear instructions. i have a question... how does the waist dart on this video differ from this one in this video? czcams.com/video/C46hjU2M76g/video.htmlsi=asxLQkZGM5ZBNsJC
i've been seeing these two different shapes of the waist darts and as a beginner it's pretty confusing. is there a difference and if so, what is the difference?

      Thank you for your comment.
I would say the two are both waist darts with the aim of reducing the excess fabric around the waist to endure the bodice hugs your waist snugly.
However in my case, I tried to explain in more detail how you get the centimeters that you are supposed to reduce at the waist. I used my own measurements, however you can replace them with yours to archive more or less the same results.
