Hi Megan. Loved all your stitching per usual:) But, that sweater is gorgeous and holy cow did you knit that body up fast!!! Your knitting is just stunning! I also used to love to watch Melissa from Honeybee knits and really miss her videos. I believe she also was a yarn dyer at one point. On your failed start…yes change the colors. Lol. It gives me very 80’s vibes and I grew up in the 80’s. Haha! New or old stitcher, we are all learning. I’ve been stitching for 20+ years and I’m still learning. Keep up the great work.

Yes! Switch the colors on that Brenda Keyes pattern. It will look amazing. I’ve considered stitching that one myself before.

I love Brenda Keyes also, I did her Red House Sampler last year. I kitted up the same
one you did (Carnation House or Sampler) I have a different book than that one you

You are so talented. I love your stitching and was able to get that fall cross stitch from the magazine through my library for free through Libby the online service. I love the sweaters and am so jealous. I want to knit a sweater but have been doing socks and scrappy blankies

You should totally knit a sweater! It’s easier than you think of you haven’t done it before. I always recommend tin can knits Flax sweater. Really really good instructions.
ALL my projects are in the Amazon mesh bags. Dog hair does not stick to them, and they are waterproof.
They are SO good! I am for sure obsessed with them after the save from all that coffee spilling on them and none of my projects getting ruined. 💓 totally saved the day.
OH How I missed your drop in sessions this last week or two…..to find out you are working daily now…..good for you….if it is good for your family…….your Norwegian knitting skills are amazing…as I can’t wait to view the progress of your work…I have a very old variation of your brown and beige….but sadly it slow deteriorating…..take care….pace yourself…..and Blessings to You and Yours…..

I am hoping knitting mine with a really rustic wool it will last a good amount of time. I also knit it in an XL so that it would fit many people over the next generations. Hopefully they even want my sweaters. I decided to destash a couple I don’t wear though. So hard to part with hand knits but I know I don’t wear them and I only really plan to keep the colorwork ones. Hope you’re having a great weekend!

At the end… I think that’s smart, order ahead and pick up then because you don’t really want to be at keepsakes too long, is usually packed and you might not find your fancy floss if you go for example on a Friday instead of a day ahead. You are going to love stitch con, I am kinda upset I am not going this year, but I will next year. And BTW you will end up shopping 🛍 it’s inevitable 😅😂😂😂❤

In terms of Ode to Autumn, many libraries have Libby and subscribtions to magazines for free. PressReader is a paid option (but lower end) that gives access to many magazines and past publications. My library also has that as an option. Crossstitcher themselves sells digital back issues. Finally their exclusivity contracts are about a year I believe so Cheryl McKinnon/Tiny Modernist will be releasing it herself soon. I would be careful about buying PDFS of magazine patterns from Etsy as it is often an illegal/poor reproduction.
I love your colour conversions! I think it really freshens up an older sampler style and makes the project uniquely yours. That pink on blush fabric will look great as well. I’ve been in a variegated floss/monochromatic pattern kick myself. Easier to travel with and can really get in a groove without needing to switch colours or count

I am going to be traveling to Seattle in June for vacation! Any suggestions on any local cross stitching/yarn stores??
Cross stitching I would recommend thread needle street. It’s a drive but so worth it. The town is also beautiful. Yarn stores, fiber etc in Tacoma is good and they are by a lot of food places in Tacoma too. Or Seattle yarn if you are planning to stay in the city. Hope you have a blast on your trip! 💓💓

So for me it a lot of it depends on the yarn I’m using. I tend to pick yarns that are very rustic and so therefore it makes them easier to cut stitches rather than a merino or a super wash yarn where I would definitely want to secure with a machine stitch. If you are worried about your stitches, kind of losing hold and falling apart, I would recommend machine switching it just for the sense of security honestly. Good luck and thank you!
