      Our SRT's have Drag settings and wider rear tires stock and Hellcat brakes in the front. That's really the only difference. All Hemi's have Street Racing Technology but if it ain't the full SRT package then they technically don't consider Scats and RT's a SRT. I went to the dealership to look at Scats and I saw what appeared to be a Scat but the prices were different and I asked what was the difference and they didn't even know.
      I got the SRT 392. There's literally no difference unless you drag race which I never have.

      @@SRT_DREyou're mostly right but Scats always had launch control like the SRT 392 and 275s and 6 pistons became available in late 17 for Scats under dynamics..your dampers (before 19) was the main exclusive thing at that point (not the only but to me the biggest)

    • @JustinPennito
      @JustinPennito Před 3 lety +6

      Scat's have always been labeled as an R/T, but Scatpack's were never just a base R/T. The modern Scatpack & SRT 392, essential in different ways, replaced the Superbee, which in itself, was listed as an SRT (SRT8 to be exact). They even use similar bee on wheels icons, they just kind of split the name so-to-speak, so there's no SRT Scatpack like there was a SRT Superbee, as the SRT portion was used for the 392 trim. Superbee was also a trim from way back in the day too, before SRT ever existed, but Dodge still called it an SRT when they brought the moniker back, so I don't think it has a lot to do with the fact that, Scatpack was a trim from back then, when SRT didn't exist.

Permium Seats full leather or Alcantara, Flat bottom steering wheel, Six piston Brembos, 9.5 rims all the way around, 275's all the way around, Billstein suspension, driving modes,and just the swagger.. I have leather, flat bottom steering wheel, 6 piston brimbo’s in the front and 4 piston in the back, 305’s all the way around. So tell me what am I missing from the SRT?? I know that no one’s wants the Scat to be a SRT but mine says it on the engine. Why would it say SRT if it wasn’t?? I don’t think that would be legal for Dodge to do? I don’t care what people think because it’s a BEAST. Funny I get the guys in the Civic’s that want to race. It’s hilarious. In the beginning it would piss me off but I got used to it.

    The SCAT PACK was made to be a “RT” with the 392 motor that’s why when scats were first made the were putting the rt badges on them y. The SRT 392 was made to be just like the hellcat but without the motor. The scats out grew the srt 392 because you could get the same exact engine for significantly less. But now you can even get every option on the scats as you could in a srt 392 which they stopped selling back 2017. I personally feel the 392 is better buy and holds more value. Apart from that yes the srt’s have bigger brakes, wheels, performance pages, and flat bottom steering wheel. They also have the adjustable bilstein suspension from factory and a different/more aggressive rear end ratio than the scats. Minor details include the full halogen headlights and foglights. There were also some minor options that were offered only in the 392’s. Idk if it’s worth the extra money for one since I’ve never driven a scat, but I can tell you I love my 392 to death.

      4 door sedan isn’t how insurance works, (common misconception though) it’s based on what others are doing with the same vehicle. When I was 21 and I bought my 2013 brz my insurance quote was $20 more than a 18 (at that time brand new) C7Z. Now if you know anything about cars it’s a big difference between those vehicles but corvettes are cheap to insure because the majority of those owners are old men who don’t wreck their car (aka no accidents) therefore leading to lowering the cost to insure one for all of us irresponsible vette buyers :)

If you want the flat bottom steering wheel you need the dynamics package, that gives you the 6 piston brembos as well, they are all the same shit same motor just different editions.

    The SRT has the magna ride suspension, which does not come with the standard scatpack, only on the wide body in the scatpack line. Brakes can be upgraded on the scatpack with the dynamics package. Also, the srt comes with the ZF90 transmission, which is in the hellcat also. All scatpacks come with the ZF70, which is not rated for as much hp and track mode performance is slightly increased with the ZF90 supposedly.

  • @kaiichinose9590
    @kaiichinose9590 Před rokem

    So this video stumbled into my feed as I am a car enthusiast of ALL vehicles.
    First thing is that the insurance reason is not why the name was changed. Insurance companies know exactly what your vehicle is the moment you give them your VIN.
    FCA came up with the SRT name as a catch-all for planned performance car names that were originally Plymouths, such as SRT Barracuda. They actually listed the Viper as an SRT branded vehicle for a short time. When the plans for the Barracuda fell through they decided a separate performance brand name wasn’t necessary. This was going to follow the course laid out when they renamed the trucks from Dodge to Ram, so sister dealers like Jeep and Chrysler could carry them in the showroom without the Dodge moniker.
    I have a love for Dodge and I think that the 345 and 397 are some amazing engines. The only downfall is the power to weight ratio. the 392 in the charger has a 0-60 of 4.3 and qtr mile of 12.4 which is okay for 485 crank hp. Power to weight ratio, gear ratio, tires, chassis all play a great deal in how a vehicle performs. The car suffers from its weight. Its a great cruiser/bruiser but with the right modifications can be pretty quick. I have had a lot of modded performance vehicles from bmw, chevy, acura, and a built 2013 evo gsr. I can appreciate everything for what they are and what can be done do them and each has their own driving dynamic. my bmw m340 with 385 crank hp does 0-60 in 3.8 and a qtr mile of 12.1 with x drive. I love imports to include germans, japanese, korean etc.
    I think that its poor judgement in your videos that you degrade others because you feel that your 392 is some superior legendary vehicle that dominates everything on the road when truth is its a regular line production vehicle with an L chassis from very early 2000s. You dis chevy and ford by saying they dont want that smoke but in reality you'd be the one getting smoked. A camaro ss 1le or mustang gt with performance package both with auto will eat a 392's lunch. For the love of cars please be more respectful of other vehicles on the road and what others drive and be greatful for the nice car you have. Apparently you came from a v6 branded "muscle" car to your first v8 so inherently it will feel and sound fast but in reality there is much more to be learned in your future in the automotive industry. I have auto x and dragged for over 10 years and have a lot of time behind the wheel of many different vehicles. I am a subscriber and generally a huge car enthusiast who enjoys your content and your enthusiasm but remember everyone likes their cars and what they buy for them and to disrespect others for what they drive is no bueno. Stay humble be safe and happy you came out unscathed from your accident.

    Every model made from the SXT to the Demon or Red eye are modeled correctly. A Scat pack is a Trim level with it's own options. The SRT is a different equipped car. Has nothing to do with insurance. Sounds like people making things up. What you need to do is take a 392 SRT and a Scat pack build, they are not the same. Yes same 392 engine but there are many things that are different. Today you can not get a SRT model that's not a Hellcat. SRT designed cars are only Hellcats now and thats how it is. If you want a SRT , buy a SRT. Don't complain about owning a Scat pack and it's not a SRT, you didn't buy a SRT you got a Scat pack. I don't see the issue here. I do see all these cars are awesome. Obviously the Scat has a 6.4 392 which you would think it’s a SRT but it’s not, it’s a RT. It’s a RT because of the trim level. The SRTs come with a higher level of options like hellcats. Like the scat only get 4 piston brembos and the SRT gets 6 piston brembos. The 392 gets adaptive suspension and the scat gets bilstein sport suspension.the srts get 275s on all 4 corners and scat gets 245s. Lots of other bells and whistles but the motor is the same!...

    As well as the differences as others have mentioned before, before they discontinued the SRT 392 you could not get the dynamic damping suspension with the 3 ride modes in a scat pack. Also the SRT came with 6 piston Brembo brake calipers and the scat pack with 4 piston Brembo calipers. The SRT came with a premium interior and sound system and all the bells and whistles. After they discontinued the SRT 392 all those became options on the scat pack. To get a scat pack specked out like the SRT 392 your gonna pay the same price or more than what the SRT 392 cost.

      @@Knockout360 The scat pack is older than SRT. The scat pack name was first used in 1970. The SRT name was first used in I think the 80's. It technically is an SRT, but they want to keep it true to it's heritage, so they still call it an RT. I'd rather have a scat pack than an SRT 392. Who the hell just wants a car called 392? It's either scat pack or hellcat. I think it's funny how all the SRT 392 guys hate the scat pack because it's "not an SRT", but the scat pack is faster because it's lighter. Idiots are mad because they could've got a hellcat for the same price😂.

    This is the difference from what I’ve read scat packs are R/T’s with the SRT engine they are built in the Windsor assembly plant in Canada along with all the other FCA vehicles. SRT’s are built in Detroit at the Street Racing Technology plant a completely different assembly line where the chassis are strengthened and built with Street Racing Technologies components. Scat packs have SRT motors and power but they are far from a SRT. SRT’s have special vin numbers as well which is why the insurance is more don’t get me wrong SP’s are the best bang for your buck but they are not a Street Racing and Technology vehicle it’s more than just the engine and brakes it’s the suspension chassis and components etc they are built in two different plants I hope this explains it

    As far as insurance is concerned, it's not necessarily that they get accidents or tickets more. It's quite literally because of parts, exactly equivalent to an AMG, S audi, M BMW, V Cadillac, zl1 Chevy, the parts on a hellcat are expensive. A srt 392 and a scat pack will have the same differences. For instance my hellcat front rotors cost 1k a piece, 550 for the pads, that's just parts. The srt 392 doesn't have the same size in the front, I believe they are a brembo 4 piston big brake kit, whereas the hellcat is the six piston. And just goes on from there, 275 tires obviously cost more than 245 tires. The parts for a srt car literally cost more, so they charge more. On top of them costing more, they aren't parts that are used industry wide, meaning there aren't cheaper aftermarket alternatives, all the srt parts come from one place FCA, and they are notoriously bad as a parts supplier. For instance, I had a bearing going out on my supercharger pulley, no big deal, except FCA does not sell any part of the supercharger assembly, including the gasket, as a separate part. Meaning ANYTHING from the gasket up means replacing everything. 7k, my new supercharger assembly had a bad secondary fuel relay, guess what, 7k another brand new entire assembly. These are the reasons a srt car cost more to insure.

    I judge whether a car is an SRT or not based on the performance. If the car has an SRT engineered engine, then it’s an SRT. After all, SRT stands for street racing technology. So it would make sense that if the engine, transmission, and performance is engineered by SRT, then it’s an SRT. The reason dodge calls scatpacks RTs is cause in the 70s the old scatpacks were originally SRT’s. And since dodge was reviving the scatpack with the same looks and whatnot it used to have, they might as well stick to the same heritage by calling it an RT. That’s just my take on it 🤷‍♂️
