Jay Peered into the Abyss so hard, he saw Breya and Tithe there... and he blinked.
What a game! I didn’t expect that ending, tithe with Breya was so sweet!
Welp, Jay definitely peered into the abyss huh?
I was really looking forward to seeing karn ult 😢
So, Karona is playable becaude its 5c even id the commander does nothing and Kozilek cant really hang. Not surprising but the game was fin to watch!
Love the consistent entertaining content you all put out, you've all earned your success and deserve even more
How did Kyle pitch march of swirling mist to force of negation, then again on force of will? Not trying to be mean or nitpicking but just something off I noticed!
He put down swirling mist, but it looks like he actually exiled a different card instead. His exile pile updates if you want to take a look, no cheating. Just seems to have changed his mind about what to send
you can see that he pitched mental misstep for his force of negation instead
Oh wow
Nice! Seeing Breya and Kozilek at a table is def cool
These lesser played/off meta commander games are so interesting!
We will keep trying it out!
Love the new commanders. Feels fresh
I HOWLED at the end. Great content 😂😂
Thanks!
Was literally brewing a Karona controlled chaos deck. Basically, it's a 5c Slicer deck. I haven't watched yet but I wonder if it is a staxy mid range Punisher deck
Am I crazy or did Kevin only tap for 6 to cast Karn?
I think the intention was to sac crystal vein for 2 instead of just tapping it for one. Sac for two gives him them 7 mana.
This so great, what a game
What do the dot-stickers on the cards accomplish?
i cant tell what was a bigger fuck up
getting rid of karn
or casting Peer into the Abyss
Why was getting rid of Karn a mistake?
Considering Karn was in ult range, I wonder why anyone would ever consider removing it a mistake.
Felt like some pretty questionable choices there, should probably not peer into a tithe with breya on the board. There must have been a better line than that.
An absolute misplay for sure. Like there's literally no way you're not dead on board after doing that...
More Kozak please. I feel like we almost saw greatness
It was close!
What a game !
I was pretty excited to see some new commanders, but then it was just the same thoracle combo.
I was a little sad we didn't see as much Kozilek play here. But overall this was an interesting episode.
This game was sooo nice. I love Breya 🤍💙🖤❤️
Thanks!
I think liberator is probably a better choice of commander than Kozilek these days!
Also what the heck was Kevin doing in this game lol. Playing with power has great editing and narration, but the plays and decks are lacking
Yeah, I tried telling them we should all 4 just play tymna Thrassios, and that will fix the "There's better decks you could of played" argument. 😂
I personally think Kozilek is better, but I think colorless plays better as a prison deck that uses the commander to reload
@Dracomandriuthus That may be true. But prison decks in a competitive pod on camera. Isn't want a majority of cedh players want to see.
I disagree. Card draw and countering in the command zone is too good.
Anyone care to explain the colored dots on the sleeves?
It is so you know which cards go to which deck. If you want to play with real cards and not proxies it is a cool way to have your collection organized. You have to have all the cards in the same sleeves but if you are playing cedh with real cards I doubt that 50 to 100 dollars in sleeves are going to stop you.
You assign a color to each of your decks, then put the corresponding color sticker on the inner sleeve. so if you wanted to rebuild kozilek you would pull out the 100 black stickered cards then you have kozilek. If you do the same for every other deck you are giving yourself the ability to have fast artifacts/dual lands/tutors in every deck. the only thing is to make doing this easier you tend to run the same sleeves for every deck.
Kyle pitched march to both force of will and force of negation? 😅
The card of the game should be Peer into the abyss 😂
this was a very sad showcase of cedh lol. these decks flopped and poor plays were very apparent
How did Kevin cast Karn Liberated without sacrificing Crystal Vein?
Also, Jay should absolutely have cast Chain of Vapor in response to the Smothering Tithe triggers and copied it to bounce Breya so he wouldn't get shot.
this felt very missplayed :P
What are Kevins stickers for?
Using the cards across multiple decks, the stickers probably reference what deck each belongs in so he only needs to have 1 copy
Greed lost Kyle and Jay the game... drawing 25 cards woth necropotence without blockers and with a pinging commander ... then getting pinged down by all the treasures that were given by peer... but i think Jay had no answer to the incomming Underwolrd Breach / Oracle anyway huh
Definitely a misplay to cast PITA with a Tithe on the field looking for answers against the colorless deck...... !!!!!
Powerful... but cmooonnnnnn
#BanTheOracle
Id love to play in these pods. No one pays for anything ever, then get stopped because someone has 15 cards in hand. Damian prob would have won on his first thassa attempt if he used some of his many treasures to pay for Rhystic Study. Also PiTa with a Smothering Tithe on the field? Game was a bit memey for my liking.
I doubt Damian wins on the first attempt. Kyle had already Necro'd so he almost certainly had countermagic regardless of whether Damian pays for Rhystic. At first I thought Damian going for the win there was a mistake, but after seeing the rest of the game I'm guessing he already had Breach, and maybe Sevinne's, in hand and was just trying to draw out some interaction from Kyle.
I do think that at 8:38 the first Breya activation only sacs one artifact instead of two, but he has the artifacts to sac and it has no real impact on the game. Peer into Tithe+Breya was a mistake but people do make mistakes.
Why does nobody respond to the smothering tithe triggers blows my mind…
I feel like there were a lot of misplays this game
PitA has to be the dumbest misplay I have seen recently. Seriously did he completely forget there was a Breya and a Tithe in play?
Most likely. Misplays happen!
But why Karona? I like her but arent there a million better 5 color options?
Because you people are upset when the best decks are played. When we play fringe decks, you people still get upset. 😂
All colorless decks are too slow for cedh.
If I'm not misremembering, Liberator has literally won a cEDH tournament and has at least top-16'd a couple others. It's definitely a deck building challenge, but it's not impossible and will only improve from here. A new colorless commander deck is getting printed this year, too, so we'll see.
No
8:42 Why didn’t he do his Chain of Vapor and other game winning shenanigans after killing Kyle…
Let's play a CEDH game with unusual commanders and end it exactly the same way almost every CEDH game wins by getting Thoracle in play...
Sure, the end was the same. But that's also ignoring how two players at the table were killed with noncombat damage from a non infinite combo by a fringe commander
Must be new to cedh?
So many misplays... Smh
Yay...Thoracle for the win.. 🙄😒
nah this was more on recklessly resolving peer in front of tithe lol
Makes sense. Because no one ever printed a card that counters activated abilities, stops instant wins, or forces target player to draw cards... meta always feels hopeless when there is no answer to combos...
Oh wait...
> Complaining about Thoracle on a cEDH channel
I, uh, think you're in the wrong place...
Ugh, can’t stand Cedh for the exact reason that all four commanders didn’t even get cast, and there was like 43 counter spells from 2 of the 4 players… 😒
If you are going to play Kozilek at a cEDH table, why not actually play the good one? My old list is a bit outdated as I haven't had much time to play the game but on TappedOut my list is called "Colored Mana is For the Weak" and I would argue is at least a full order of magnitude more competitive than any list using The Great Distortion. Take this from someone that has played a few hundred games with it.
What makes Butcher of Truth better than Great Distortion?
this comment is psychotic
@@neebogreebo2052 I go into a lot of detail in the primer on TappedOut but the short version is that Butcher will always draw you 4 cards which allows you to win with infinite mana and a sacrifice outlet whereas Distortion draws you a number between 0 and 7, which on top of not always even working in the first place if you hand is full of dead cards, also results in you having to run discard outlets if you want to win with infinite mana. Also quite frankly, annihilator 4 is way better than a janky, albeit sometimes relevant, counterspell for 10 mana. Considering that I typically can attack with Kozilek by turn 4 at the latest, a single attack usually just shuts down that opponent.
I have played literally hundreds of games with both commanders. Distortion is what I would play at really low power level tables whereas Butcher brought me many wins at cEDH tables.
@@draconocor1309 ...how? Genuine inquiry. I am passionate about my all time favorite commander that I have been piloting for close to a decade and have hundreds of games of experience and I was curious as to why in cEDH, one would run the strictly worse version. If you want to play a casual game that is fine, but cEDH is supposed to be about optimizing to actually win.
@@galacticscalepenguins6092 That sounds really cool! I don't play a lot of cEDH so I'd love to read the primer if you'd be willing to link to it.
another wasted game due to thassa's oracle and 2 players were fighting for it too, boring as fuck.
