Your welcome. I just switched to a push to start directly on the starter. No key necessary just a kill switch. I was left stranded this winter in a snow storm from a short.
@dadassery8506 I haven’t seen my bike I let Harley do it as it was in the winter when I dropped it off. Now it’s taken forever to get the things I need to get it done
From what it looks like in the video if you are using this same Amazon switch the colors he hooked up go as Red/Black to Red, Red/White-Blue, Red-Green. I will be installing this switch on my 2000 Sportster as soon as I get a new battery and will update if colors change in my switch.
Well it has worked for 2years and now I’m deleting all controls on the handlebars plus speedo and replacement ignition. However heated grips have been installed so that will be the only switch on the bars.
It would be nice to know the after market wiring. Blue and green. Reds hot. I can figure myself but not really a video of learning. Sounds like an Amazon commercial
I bought it off Amazon and installed it. I considered lowbrow customs after market switch and jp cycles switch. The deciding factor was I’m a prime member so next day service and free returns was the deal maker for me. I still have a ignition coil relocate and clutch spring plate that I haven’t returned to jp cycles or lowbrow simply because the cost of shipping makes the return not worth it. Also my videos are not for video learning but for sharing my experiences of owning and riding MC so thanks for the rebuff and not spreading positivity within the riding community.
@@richarddickinson1966 I was confused too. On the bike it was red, red/blk, red/grey, on the switch red, blue, green. Why are doing this to us 3rd party parts co?
Is the battery connected durning the whole process? When you put the 3 wires together the lights came right on and started up. I lost my keys last night and just ordered an after market ignition.
I think at some point in the video there is a clear shot of what wires went where. It’s been a minute since I did that can’t recall what colors went where.
I lost keys to My 2020 Harley Davidson Sportster 883 the original ignition is a plug and play with only to prongs. My new ignition switch has three wires red blue and green.i don't know how to connect them properly any ideas??
Dang I never got this notification. Newer bikes need the new ignition. I was standing in the service department when a guys 2023 Sportster was stolen have to order from them the ignition as your bike has some new technology on it.
I went to go install my aftermarket ignition just like yours and my dumb ass never unhooked the battery and shorted out one of the ignition wires to the head now nothing.. Threw in all new 15A fuses, what else could it be other than battery is shot main fuse?
Aww man sorry to hear that. Just to be clear your fuses were definitely blown? You can put a voltmeter on the wires to check for continuity. If a wire does not have it. You have another short somewhere. It’s really hard to say 🤷🏽♂️
Thanks dude, you saved me a bunch of troubleshooting

@@awesomeandre1757 how do you like it? I was thinking of doing something similar but I’m afraid of theft. Lots bike/auto theft in my city.

Thanks for the video, I lost my only and installed the same ignition switch 🤙🏾
Your welcome… I was hoping it would help someone. It’s a real pain not being able to start your bike…lol
@@awesomeandre1757 I’ll be installing a bypass switch soon… lol

I actually just removed the ignition switch and switched to a push to start directly on the starter and installed a hidden Killswitch.
Thanks man! Saved the day
NEVER guess with wiring!!!! 😂. Find out what wire connects to what wire !!!! (And BTW, it isn’t a choke !!)

@dadassery8506 I just ordered a push to start button to be wired directly to starter eliminating the confusion and the key/ignition.
@@awesomeandre1757 gotcha. Part of me wants to make an overly complicated furiousa style primer sequence.

Yes I left the battery hooked up. However it is a good idea to disconnect as I know some people to have shorted their bikes.
did you get the remote for the Harley ? good video it really help me about the 3 wires
Thanks for sharing. That year of bike doesn’t have the remote or alarm system.
Great trouble shooting. I’m debating getting a new ignition or a push button switch. Also, what fairing is that?
National Cycle Spartan Quick-Release Windshield (16-1/4") Compatible with 09-14 Harley XL883N a.co/d/4Ah9iLe
This not the one for my 03 but is still the same make and size.
So the 3 wires dont matter which wire they go to? Also do you have a link to the ignition?
The do matter as the lights for the bike will be effected just test before you make it final.
Can you share what wires you hooked up to which
What colors did you hook all to I have the same after market switch

can you make more videos about raw dogging
If a man needs to be taught such things via video instruction. Is he really a man?
