I usually only fix people who appreciate audio in their MacBook Pros. A really fun repair is removing a broken headphone jack that is inside the female port.

I rarely use my speakers, yet it's damaged anyway, it's been 6 years now though. I intend to sell it so I wanna replace the damaged speakers and still get a good money for it.

Was worried this would be a tough fix! Thank you, eBay sells the speaker for $15 and ill be giving this a try soon. Thank you! But I'll maybe wait until my school semester is over incase I fudge it up.

I went from a 2012 15" retina to a 2019 15", and the quality of the 2019 sound blows the doors off the 2012. You mention the 2015 models have good speakers. When I search for 2015 speakers, the date range is listed as 2012-2015. 2012 sound is not horrible, but 2019 is so much better. Seems to be a discrepancy, or maybe I haven't searched for the right speakers? I'm going to use Macbook speakers in an external enclosure, looking for the ideal ones at the right price.

Thanks, I used my heat gun at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for a couple of minutes and taped the sides of the keyboard with Kapton tape. I think you could definitely get away with more heat but I really didn’t want to damage the keyboard. I believe that Wagner heat gun on low is 750 degrees Fahrenheit. That’s pushing it for accidentally damaging the plastic on the keyboard keys.

How much do you charge to replace the speakers.

One speaker went skitz after i was using it in the cold. must have ripped the cone or membrane or some part unglued itself. found replacements, a pair for just over 12 euros. I was watching a video with a guy talking about high definition sound from digital and analogue and it just became instantly unusable,

hey boss, I have the same macbook pro 2017 A1707, I did a right speaker replacement.. the part I bought was an original authentic apple speaker, upon looks it seems authentic indeed. but the right speaker sounds tinnier (worse) than the left speaker, that I left untouched.. any reason why this is like that ? the left speaker sounds much bassier and richer.

I think it could have two reasons.
First, It may be that the adhesive strip between the speaker and the case (body) does not seal properly. If this does not seal completely, the resonance suffers extremely.
Second, the MacBook don’t gives a Signal to the midrange speaker/woofer, only to the tweeter. Take a look to the speaker connector. You have two pins for the tweeter and two pins for the midrange speaker/woofer. Check if you have output on both.
