Hey Alexandria!! I messaged you on Instagram but it's notorious for not letting people know when messages go to the request folder. ❤ I'm a social media manager for a large photography studio in Portland Oregon and would love to chat with you on how I can help with your editing issues!!
I loved this! I wonder what kind of stuff you would get if you said "parisian" rather than "french" as that gives a more modern/chic vibe
Hi Alexandria...I absolutely love all your videos. I quite frequently binge on them starting with your first video😊
I love vintage stuff so keep them coming...my husband however has had to get use to it as we have only been married 10 months lol. Many blessings on you, yours and your subscribers 😊
Yes!!! Do the box from your store!!! Please!
Hello, Alexandria! You look beautiful in your bright pink shirt, btw.
YES, PLEASE, more vintage unboxings!! I LOVE what you received in your boxes!!
Vintage is totally MY thing as well!! [I had hoped to visit your store(s) last week while I was in KY, but didn't make it. 😥]
It was fun to see you getting so excited about the items in your boxes, too!! Can't wait to see how you place them in your new home!!
Love you, honey!! Take care of yourself! ❤
Continuing to pray for you always!🥰
Please keep the Whimsy Barn boxes. I would be stoked if you made them a staple on the channel. Your genuine enjoyment of the box made my day! :)
I couldn't agree more!! So fun to watch.
Definitely!! I loved this unboxing and I loved the style for this curator. Everything was just so beautiful and I loved that Alexandria was so excited about everything. I'm a lover of vintage myself and I found many of the pieces that Alexandria loved, I also loved. I have vintage crockery and silver and other bits and pieces like knitting and crotchet patterns that belonged to my great grandmother\grandmothers dating back to the early 1900s. I definitely want to see more vintage unboxing.
Best video ever! Your happiness and excitement is wonderful to see! ❤
Whimsy barn was my favorite too
loveddddd them
Alexandria: "I don't have to keep anything alive!"
Ren & Tater: 👁👄👁
I'm not gonna lie, I get tired of the constant beauty boxes. I love when you do home décor unboxings, Advant calendar unboxings, and just life updates. This type of unboxing is definitely up my speed, and would love to watch more videos like this from you.
Make a leg for your box with CLAY (air dry or oven bake) and then just paint it to match the others. Unless you are really good at whittling.
GREAT idea!!!!!!
Or Sugru!
Omgosh! That cloak pattern is the one my mom used to sew my amazing floor length black cape with red satin liner! I still have that cape from 1969-1970! I love that thing! How fun to see that pattern!
Yay! I’m not the only one with cloaks. I have several full length cloaks, all homemade. I had my own as I grew and inherited my great nana’s as well as my nana’s cloaks. I wear them often. I kept all my small cloaks for when I had children and even made cloaks for our daughters throughout their childhood for functions. They have saved their wee ones for when they have children. 🍀🍀🍀
@@Sorchia56 I love that! That’s awesome! I felt so fancy with my cape since I didn’t have any other extremely cool things in high school. My late mom was extremely amazing at sewing and loved to do it (a talent that skipped a generation with me lol). We couldn’t afford to pay $100 for a long cape so she made me one 100% nicer than the expensive store bought ones. I was a proud and thankful daughter for sure! It’s still a treasured item to this day ❤️
My gram used to have so many of those packages!! She made all of my clothes (until 4th grade, when a boy said he’s be my bf if I wore pants sometimes😂😂so my gram went to the thrift shop and for me a pair of wind pants to wear to school the next day😂) I miss her!! She made dresses, she made my Halloween costumes, blankets, quilts, pillow cases, anything she could see, she did…she made me a Belle(beauty and the beast) dress for Halloween one year(in a very bubblegum pink)satin (even tho she struggled with the fabric) and it was gorgeous. I wish my mother held onto those things😭😭
PLEASE DO YOUR OWN ANTIQUE SUBSCRIPTION BOX! When you do, please add a place for photos in the subscription form! That way you understand the vibes we are going for in the decor and clothing.
@MADEbySOUL It would be so awesome if she could do that but I love your idea of being able to add your own pictures of the vibe you’re trying to go for! Great 😊 idea!
I'd definitely order it!
I’d order 🩵
Agreed!! 💯🙂
Yes please! I would absolutely order an AR Antique sub box!
The second box was 100x better than the first box. Ditch the first box but do another one from the second shop. I love how happy it made you! ❤
Same. The 1st box wasn't great.
2nd box was incredible.
The first box was more just like random stuff from grandma's attic, which is fine, I love vintage stuff, but when charging money and then the star of the box, the music box, is broken, it isn't such a good deal. I can't remember ever seeing you as excited as you were opening the second boxes, they nailed it, everything was good and useful to you. I'd personally love to see more unboxings from them, mostly because of how happy they make you but also because I want to see what else they will send. Good luck on the packing, we moved 3 years ago and I still have nightmares about the packing, unpacking and the absolutely unprofessional owner of the moving company we used. I still have boxes in our basement that I will probably never unpack 😂😂 Thanks for sharing, this video was a much needed spot of joy in my day. You, of course, look as gorgeous as always.
Exactly! It was random like no theme.
Some things were good but most wasn't. I would be upset if I got this. It isn't cheap.
Also if your selling something than atleast clean or repair the things. The broken music box or the dirty plastic tray was very underwhelming.
Also the recipes and dress patterns was confusing in a decor box.
Like put it in a vintage cooking or sewing box.
It's a pity if your not into cooking or sewing.
By putting it in a specific box it could go to someone who would use it.
The second box was amazing 😍
It’s so cool to Alexandria describing the decor pieces and Her excitement. I can totally see why Alexandria has a Vintage Store! 💙
Please do this again! Even though I’m personally not into vintage goods, just watching how excited and happy this made you put a huge smile on my face. It’s a nice change from the makeup and beauty boxes as well!
“These are, my people” almost made me cry
Whimsy Barn Box needs to stay!! I’m not even a vintage girlie and I really enjoyed that box
I ordered an 80s themed Etsy box and it was just ok. I lived in the 80s so don’t play me 🤨
Love the 80’s!
That would have made me sad. As a Gen X hag, I would love an 80’s box.
I’m an 80’s baby so I love everything 80’s.
As a historian, I can guarantee that the decades you lived are very different from the way we encapsulate a decade as a social-historic construct. Whatever we 80s kids think about 80s aesthetic, remember that reality & vintage nostalgia are always dramatically different. There was an 80s craze a decade ago and it was almost entirely neon net skirts & chunky accessories, my authentic outfit was deemed "not 80s" by some little twits
@@montananerd8244 so true. When I look at my pictures from the 80s, it doesn't look like what the 80s are portrayed as.
I would happily watch these vintage unboxing any and every time you post them! Please do more!!!
My answer to more vintage/antique videos is always yes.
We used to have a wall of wood slats in a den. When my folks remodeled in the late '80s the wall panel slats came down and mom used them for *decades* in her work as an artist. All the wood had grooves similar to that decoupaged burpee seed art wood panel. So it could have started life as a wall that someone has repurposed as art panels. Its usually nice wood because it's already mostly prepped (sanded smooth and stained).
This is EVERYTHING!!! I love the style of both boxes!! It would be so cool to do a thrifted/vintage box swap with people! Kind of like a secret Santa where are you set a price limit and each person provides what their personal style is.
I know @thrifterjunkervintagehunter would be a good choice as Misty from that channel is a vintage reseller and also runs an on-line vintage reseller website. I would love to see a swap between Misty and Alexandria.
That would be fabulous!
love this idea 😮
We do this in one of my vintage Pyrex groups. It is really fun seeing what everyone else gets too
Please do more vintage boxes! Your enthusiasm is contagious. Plus you’re teaching us about antique/vintage items!
This was SO fun to watch!!! Alexandria being all giggly and so into what she's opening is a blast!!
Wow, Whimsy Barn Vintage is amazing! Would also love to see Alexandria's shop version of these types of boxes. A deco box that includes her candles would be divine!
Your excitement is exactly how I get at antique stores. I love it! And I love teaching others about peices and makers marks and all that jazz
You can fill the little Avon bottle with glitter. It will be adorable, and you can put a pinch in letters to your enemies. Both cute and chaotic to encounter when you open a letter.
Oh my gosh! So my youngest (9yo) surprised me with a little breakfast this morning (I've been sick in bed, so it was a sweet surprise.) Soooo I sat down to enjoy my sliced banana with chocolate sauce and sprinkles, and she comes running over "wait, there's one more thing!!! " and she's got this video queued up on her tablet. I love that her little brain knew that a combination of sugar and Alexandria makes everything better. 😁
Oh my goodness!! That’s the sweetest thing🥰🥰
I prefer this type of unboxing. I don’t wear much make-up, so this style is right up my alley.
For SURE keep doing boxes like this (especially the Whimsy Barn…what kind of magic was that?!?), and PLEASE make your own and take us along for the ride!! It would be SO fun!
Fun story about hand making beeswax candles: I was about 16when this happened. so my local art gallery had some holiday workshops including candlemaking. It sounded fun so I signed up. Somewhere along the lines I had missed that this workshop was for kids under 12. So i turn up and the room is full of kids from around 9-12. The organisers were really sweet and said I was welcome to stay and join in if I wished. I have always gotten along well with younger kids so I said why not. I really wanted to try out candle making and I was already there. I honestly had a good time and got to help out the younger kids as well. But now always check for age groups for any workshops.
I don't comment often, but it begs to be said that this is your best video. I'd love to see more. I'd love to see you branch out of your comfort zone, order boxes with more of a 70's hippy vibe or Italian fresco. I dunno, discover things you didn't know you'd like in other genres. This is a hit!
I was a vintage reseller when I lived in Florida. The old people that move there send a ton of cool stuff to thrift stores.
I don't wear makeup, I just enjoy your personality, that's why I've been subscribed all these years.
I love the Whimsy barn box ,I'd love to see more from them.
That cape/cloak pattern was identical to the one my Mom used to make cloaks for my Sister and I in the 60's. My Dad's mother used to add a satin or fur lining inside for as she was truly gifted artistically and could sew anything. She was an artist by profession and she taught art and sewing in the 50's and 60's. Almost all of my artwork in my place was something painted by her. She had an art studio in Ogunquit Beach, ME. She did mostly oil painting but I do have an exquisite watercolour of lilies that she painted; she's probably rolling over in her grave knowing that the only grandchild she didn't like has so many of her art pieces 😂
I have vintage postcards somewhere (I used to collect them) and hopefully they weren't in a box that was left behind when I moved. If I can find them, I'm sending them to you. Some have really tender messages written on them 🥹
You look so happy and excited. Because of that, I vote you should do more of these. Alexandria, I would be one of the first in line to buy a box curated by you.
Idea for the vlog channel… just film yourself doing crafting and your other hobbies. Like a series with one a week where you do whatever the current crafting obsession is. This would be soooo fun!!!!
More vintage box unboxing?? YES PLEASE!!!
I love vintage, there were stuff that I would want.... Old books, academia, etc....
I also have that same scarf, I got it from my grandmother. She got it from her mother when she was a child.
Please always always always do these types of boxes!! I love them, but even more than that, I LOVE your excitement and joy with each item you opened!!
WOW, I just got teary...when you pulled out the Sewing Pattern. My Mom who is now gone (18yrs) used to sew all the time. She'd make my Halloween Costumes. She even made my Aunts Wedding Dress and bridesmaid dresses. She worked at a store called SoFo Fabrics. Love these boxes! Need to check them out!
And those Coasters...my Step Dad used to cross stitch! He is the most impatient man alive but when he would Cross Stitch or build Models, he had all the patience in the World!
That pattern is from the 70s. My mom had it in her sewing room
I have a cloak in velvet my mom made me from that pattern. Love it!
I made a very similar cloak out of gray polar fleece type fabric many years ago. It's SO warm!
(I had found some GORGEOUS buttons, and just HAD to find a use for them! 😅)
You can unbox anything, I think I'll love it. This is wonderful. Please do more!
Dare I say it? I think this was my favorite unboxing yet! Love to see your excitement and get to see what style you're looking to bring into the new home!
If you DONT do more of these i will riot and my puppy will be sad. I found him in the trash 3 years ago, in november of 2022 he lost his 18 years old brother (my soulpup), so please dont make him sad! (for legal reasons nothing will actually happen to him, he was just watching the video with me and all excited with how hyped you were about the adorable things you got)
Antiques and vintage items are my jam as well Alexandria!!!! I love to peruse a good antique shop or flea market all day long!! Would love to see this become a series on your channel!!!
My grama used to make those jello salads for every family dinner. No one had the heart to tell her we didn't like it 😋
My aunt would make lemon lime gelatin mixed with sherbet, my mom said its good, but i don't remember if ive tried it.
I have trauma from eating jello salad with tuna. I think it was supposed to be regular gelatin and not flavoured Jello; my great aunt must've messed up every year and I'd be required to eat some. Mom stopped that when she realized I was literally ill every Christmas from it. We also asked her to do a fruit one with orange Jello instead and that was really good.
Fun fact: Jelly molds were actually seen as a status symbol because you could essentially afford the refrigeration. They were also popular in the 50s with bits of meat since they had just finished rationing. (I did a full deep dive after watching Safiya Nygaard's attempt at a jelly mold and part of that was from what I went to school for - lots of histories were involved.)
From a painter....please try a dark, moody room in the new house! Your decor style would look stunning with a beautiful, dark green. You may be surprised 😊
I like these unboxings but was not impressed with the dirty tray and broken music box. You paid enough, you’d think they could at least clean up the tray and possibly fix the box.
Right? That tray looks like someone's old paraphernalia with the little "burn marks" in the corners.
I love this and want to see more! I'm a vintage junkie and love all time periods, but live in a 1952 time capsule home so obviously keep myself in that era. ✨ I'm all about lots of color around me, yet I completely understand the allure of muted, earthy tones. They were both fun in their own way but the second one knocked it out of the park! There are pieces in the first one that could add fun pops of color and little surprises amongst the more subdued pieces.
The whimsy barn boxes were so good! You should definitely do more of these unboxings.❤
I love antiques not just because of the history they represent, but their own history. Like how did the Russian orthodox icon ended up in American antique shop and so on. The hand-written stuff is precious too! Please feel free to do more of this, this stuff is fascinating!
I have never identified with a video more in my life! I also collect hobbies but they are the same ones you mentioned. I started sewing 2 years ago. I collect fabric, vinyl crafts, sublimation, loom knitting hats and last week, started hand stamping jewelry. Wish you lived closer because I also am rescuing vintage sewing machines, fixing them and giving them to people wanting to learn to sew. I have a 1960s singer swing machine waiting for a home in my kitchen lol. You rock
The second box was so pretty and well done. The time and effort of wrapping and curating is perfect. I, too, am a craft person. While watching your video, I was crocheting. Lol
I love vintage also. My daughter, who is 22, collects vintage radios and telephones. If you made boxes like this, we would buy.
I have several books from late 1800s/early 1900s, and every time I look at them I always think about all of the life and historical events they've survived and wondered about the people who owned them. So cool!
this is such a cool concept… and at the same time i’m sitting here thinking about how cleaning granny’s house out could easily become a surprise vintage/ antique box business 😏
Hi! I don’t know if anyone commented to tell you this yet, but the plaque from 4:15 in your video is an icon. They’re very common in the Greek Orthodox religion. They’re basically paintings of religious figures, usually saints. From first glance, it looks like Mary (the larger figure) is holding St. Isaac of Syria (based on the description you read on the back). The back also mentions the Theotokos, which is the Greek term for Mary (the mother of Jesus). I grew up around many an icon, so this is very familiar to me. Just some quick trivia! 😊
My mother used to make all of my clothes back in the 70's and 80's so I definitely remember her laying the pattern out on the bed Wooow that just took me back to good times ❤
You....making a box.....with vintage......and handmade items.........YES! A MILLION TIMES YES!!!!!😁
Girrrrrl! If we lived many states closer, we would be BFF crafting buddies😂
I love hearing you use your knowledge about antiques to describe the items!! This was so fun and edu-taining. Would love to see more content about vintage items and you sharing what you know
You can buy knobs for your cabinets or drawers that would for your treasure box leg
please keep that second box - while it's really fun to see you rage over crappy boxes, I love to see you genuinely excited for the things you get
Yes, definitely do more of these!
I cannot get over the value for money from what you got from the second store!
Plus, the fact that they just seemed to get your style right, also the little zipped bag with your name on it?! Holy crap!
I don’t think anyone could ever ask for more from a mystery box from a stranger!
I love all kinds of mystery boxes, and I think this is a good way to keep your channel fresh.
I definitely would love to see more from this Etsy store, but mystery boxes from anywhere and of any kind at all will definitely keep me interested and coming back for more!
I would be coming back for more anyway! Like I have been for a couple of years now, but you know what I mean! ☺️🙏🏼🌸💜
I am rolling...'put diet Dr. Peppper in this and just mist it in my mouth' 😂
Such great boxes. Yes more of this mixed in with your other videos
100% I would watch tonnes more videos like this!! I not only loved the box but the sheer joy coming from you is precious! Love it, more!!!! 🤗
I loved watching you unbox vintage and craft made items! Maybe you could tape at your shops and let us watch you “unbox” items that you buy or sell at your stores? That would be fabulous! More of this please!!
Yes to these boxes especially Whimsy Barn! Honestly its refreshing to take a break from the same ol sub boxes. This was alot of fun to watch!
The Avon jar might make a great ink holder with an antique nib pen.✒
Yay! You're back! I missed your unboxings. 😂 The word you're looking for is ephemera! I would love to see more of this type of content.
Best unboxing I've watched on your channel. You're enthusiasm was so infectious. Please make this a regular unboxing 🙂
I loved this. It was not just the items. I love your reaction. Vintage books are amazing. My grandpa gave me a machinist handbook from the 1930s and a guide to being a proper lady from the 1920s. I treasure them
I would love to subscribe to your vintage box!! Please keep these coming. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE your subscription box video but I would love to see this kind also. I could watch you every day and plz stop apologizing about how long they are running. The longer the better, I think.
These are excellent. I need to remember these shops
Edit- yes interested in a vintage box from you
I did the same thing when we took turns reading out loud in class!! The worst… when you’d counted it all out and practiced your paragraph, only to have the teacher say “go ahead and read the next paragraph too since it’s short” to someone ahead of you. Then BOOM you panic as you frantically try to pre-read your NEW paragraph before it gets to you… god, the anxiety
Omg the accuracy in your description. Unlocked a memory that was deeply stored lol
It's wonderful to see you so happy and excited. Please make this a monthly video!
Hello Alexandria and everyone watching I pray that you all have a wonderful and blessed weekend 😊❤Is your pile of boxes getting bigger 😂I love it😅❤
I don't rate the first box, especially the dirty tray. You would've been better off going to goodwill - possibly where most of it came from. There's loads of videos on thrifting from goodwill for the decor you like.
I absolutely LOVED watching how happy this box made you. I really think you SHOULD do stuff like this. it encompasses so many of your favorite things.
I envision you doing little bespoke boxes like this, adding in little stacks of your handmade paper, and hand poured candles.... I know you'd come up with equally adorable packaging and, with seeing how happy it made you to open this.... I can tell how happy you'd be while making these boxes. I mean its the biggest win win!!!!
its boxes and crafting.... creating and vintage awesomeness all rolled into one cool project that woukd help your store, the channel and bring you so much joy.
you can do videos when you put some together and explain cool things or your thoughts on the items. etc.
go for it!!
I would LOVE to see if Whimsy Barn could do vintage/handmade holiday boxes!! Can you imagine a vintage Fall, Halloween, Christmas box?! PLEASE keep that box!
The statue is clothing from the 1700’s
im pretty sure its Victorian era fashion ciirca 1890's-ish
The statue is a £1.99 special from cheap shops and probably available for 10p in most junk shops in the UK, that's if they haven't just immediately binned them. At the oldest it's from the 80s but you could still buy them not long ago. Mass produced.
No. Its actually from mid to late 1700's@aaroniahevans3265
@@GothBoyUK okay.....thats totally off subject of the thread. We're discussing the fashion era of the clothes the figurine is wearing.....
@@SarahK86 no its not, that's the Georgian Era. To be exact Victorian Era is approximately 1820-1915. Queen Victoria's actual reign was 1837-1901. The attire on the figurine couple is almost certainly Victorian!
This could become a craft channel and I would be THRILLED. All the things you want to do, I have done and I'm still excited. I live to create. Pure joy.
I love the way that you are so giddy with excitement during this unopening.
Alexandria, you should continue to unbox whatever brings you joy! It’s contagious! Loved this unboxing.
Please do more of these. They are so much better than the subscription boxes. Yay, I loved that old book too!!!
Would love to see vintage boxes more often, what a fantastic idea! X
It was so fun to see you so excited! please do more boxes like these! Shoot, you could change your whole channel over to this and I'd be pleased as heck!
Girl if you have not ordered another box form them yet I would be disappointed. Definitely need more of these boxes. So darn fun to watch.
Going to provide another request for you to continue doing Whimsy Barn unboxing videos, they're so fun!!! Also would love to see you do your own vintage mystery box 😊
Suggestion for your little silver teapot: you could use it as a recipe card holder!!!! I don't know if you've got a box of your own little recipe note cards, or some you've collected from your vintage/thrift adventures, but I think the teapot would be the perfect size for holding a recipe up off the countertops if you're baking or cooking! Even if you're not big on that, just holding a really special little recipe card or something similar that you own would be such a perfect little stylized addition to any kitchen decor. 🖤
My favourite part about this subscription box is just how much you are lighting up, and how excited you're getting. I watch your videos because I enjoy who you are, If this box makes you this happy, please continue in this direction!! Love you lovey lady
From the items in the boxes, to your giddy excitement, this video is perfection, Alex! 🥰😃
Yes yes yes!! Please do more of the whimsy barn boxes! They nailed it and the joy you expressed made it even better!!
Loved this one! I actually have that same gravy boat. Mom bought it in the 1960s. The little green holder is from the same era and IS a toothpic holder. Most of them were gold glass and the glass started out clear but was submerged in mineral rich hot springs which colored the glass.
If you take the music box to a wood refinishing and repair shop, it shouldn't cost much to have them duplicate the leg. They will take one of the existing ones off and use it to create a template for the new leg. That is a beautiful box and well worth repairing.
Also yes please keep these types of boxes because the giddy attitude you had the whole video was just amazing and I love it so very much.
Please keep doing boxes like this! I love it and it’s nice to live vicariously through you opening them. Also you should definitely do it for your store! Put a little theme tag on each one so people have an idea of what they’re getting and they’ll fly off the shelves!
I would watch you unbox LITERALLY ANYTHING. I just love seeing your genuine reactions and how excited you get for something you really like ❤.
I absolutely Love vintage boxes like this and searching thrift shops for Vintage treasures! I was born in the 70s so I think for me it's a cross of Vintage/Nostalgia🩷 This might be my favorite video you've done yet! And.... If you did boxes like this from your store, I would 100% buy at least one!! My hubby and I have land in Sevier County TN that we are going to build on and retire to. I keep hoping that one of our trips Down South we could take a slight detour on the way and see your shop💕
I would love to see more of these. The happiness and genuine love you have for this type of stuff is so refreshing to watch.
Please keep doing these boxes… I love love love everything vintage
Please keep the antique unboxings!! You lit up while unboxing them and your joy radiated through the screen. It made my day 😊 This might be my favorite video of yours that you've uploaded yet, and I watch everything you post ❤
That second box was SOOOO SWEET! It was so fun watching you be so blown away by each item! They knocked it out of the park!
I would love to watch a monthly subscription from them on your channel.
Also, I would absolutely love to see you start your own vintage/handcrafted sub box!
YES......KEEP DOING THE VINTAGE BOXES, WATCHING YOU LIGHT UP IS BEST PART. AND YES I LIKED SECOND BOX BETTER. 😁
Would ABSOLUTELY love a curated mystery box of vintage & handmade items from your shops!
