Watch the BBC first on iPlayer đ bbc.in/iPlayer-Home Former professional footballer Anton Ferdinand explores the issue of racial abuse in the game from a personal perspective. Following a sharp rise in reported incidents of racial abuse in football, Anton talks for the first time about his own highly publicised 2011 incident with the former England captain John Terry.
Anton wants to understand his own story and find out what needs to be done to address the problem of racism in the game today. He also confronts the online abuse he has experienced since, which has affected his mental health, his career and the lives of his loved ones.

Lets be honest, if JT hadn't been a footballer he would have been featured on CrimeWatch several times.
Yep!
Don't forget his family.
Good one đ.....at least he didnât let the BBC coerce him in to appearing....why on earth would he want to go through all this bs again.

Crimewatch. More like Jeremy Kyle.
Rio seemed very close to JT back in the day, as he was with Lamps. One wonders how Rio really feels about all this, deep down--whether he personally mourns the loss of that friendship and misses John, as well as feeling anger and hurt and bitterness on his brother's behalf.
How do garner a friendship based on a lie. It's clearly a fascade if he harbours racist views. Authentic Relationships are based on trust and honesty. Terry has proved the opposite. Distrustz and dishonety through and through. That guy ain't your friend, but was masquerading as such. No ones self esteem should be so low to accept that level of friendship, walk away from that
@@___Saint At no point did I say or suggest that Rio should forgive JT or accept his apologies and friendship after the incidents. That doesn't mean that Rio might not miss the version of John he thought he knew, and who he befriended as a youngster. Nuance, look into it.

Hugely blown out of proportion. What was said after all this about Ashley Cole was far worse
Rio did speak out in a racist way and got fined! He called and supported a comment on twitter attacking Ashley Cole that was racist but gives a moral high ground playing victim. I get that what JT was wrong. He paid for it. Anton didnât make it as an elite footballer because he wasnât that good and not because of emotional damage suffered from playground insults. I struggle to understand how heâs making it a bigger thing than it is by bringing his family into it and creating this emotional drama. On the pitch that day he retaliated abusively on the pitch too. Because Terry said something racist heâs the bad guy and Antonâs behaviour is unchallengeable and perfectly acceptable??
John terry really respected Rio Ferdinand
Cleared in court of law, storm in a teacup incident. These two jokers made idiots of themselves in the aftermath, especially Rio and his endorsement of a tweet calling Cole a choc-ice.

Tbh Terry was a good Skipper, who bled for the badge in an era where many of the lads called up couldn't be bothered. It's a pity the national team lost years of his leadership over this. Still, the nation deserves a better person at the helm, so it was sadly necessary to strip him of the armband. The current Captains for both Lions & Lionesses are respectable, decent people.
I used to go China whites and say hey bro gis some money

When this story broke out, John Terry tried ringing Rio Ferdinand and Anton Ferdinand to apologise. They both declined his phone calls and refused to speak with him. Now it goes double because you have exposed yourself for what you are. If you still can't see what you are then jaysus how many levels of clownhood do you want to sink to before you cop on. Ha ha and thanks for the laugh.
@@melllv I agree with pete 100%, I've followed England home and away for 30 years and yes rio was average at best in my opinion, its obviously plain to see that you know nothing and probably have never been a football match in your life, and you have made yourself look a complete pratt. IN MY VIEW.
@@melllv look at the thumbs up Andrew, 5 people agree with me, 1 more and I'll have as many people who subscribe to your channelđ€Łđ€Łđ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł funny not 1 person yet agrees with you Andrew.

The over 75's are now being hunted down by a new 800 strong BBC team of license enforcers and bailiffs who cost ÂŁ38M to setup. (They have now said they won't go after the over 75's for 6 months, oh how kind they are)
It was facilitated by the government
The over 75s make up the highest percentage of "rich" people in Britain
Over 75s should pay up!
Watched the Doc on TV the Saturday was it? Man it hit me like George Floyd's death actually. I was slowly sleep walking into a state of thinking the BLM was a little bit unnecessary, after seeing his doc, I was WOKE again. May his mother rest in peace, she really suffered because of it all. It was not the heat of the moment comments John Terry made, it was the calculated way on how his case was dealt with by officials and fans, the booing, racism, death threat Anton and his mother received that blew me away. Also, how Terry was treated like a victim, and Anton was treated like the criminal.
