A linguistic lesson for you. Here in London we have a form of English known as cockney rhyming slang. A cockney is someone born within one mile of St. Paul's cathedral. Instead of saying the word, a word is said that rhymes with the word. For example, the "stairs" become the "apples and pears" . The wife, the trouble and the strife. But to make it more complicated, only the first word is said, for example "apples" presuming the other person understand the rhyming slang. There's thousands of them. There's even a dictionary available. The reason I'm telling you this, there's a flute involved. Someone will say, that's a nice" whistle and flute ". An article of men's clothing. What do you think that is? Of course, A suit. But the person will say only the first word," that's a nice whistle. So there you have it. Bet you're glad you know that, now. Noel

Thank you for this video. I really like the practice “smart” tips. I was wondering, would you ever make a video of recommendations on pieces to learn for different levels? (Especially for those of us who are self-taught ) or lesser known composers you would like people to know about? Thank you and have a great day.

I'm very happy keeping up with your videos and suggestions, and it's amazing to see how your production quality has come along. I'd like to say though that the muzak you have playing in the background is super distracting --- I know you're trying to make your videos more exciting, but trust me, they already are ;) ---you don't need to sound like an infomercial! ....You've helped me tons on the journey. Happy music making!

So when I play the flute, I start out good. But, when I switch notes, it’s like the sound vanished. Any tips or a video you made about that?

Now you are overdoing it. The effects are pretty distracting, and the background music is, er.... I can't imagine many people who watch your videos like this kind of backdrop, being active musicians....
