    **DISCLAIMER**
    These lessons are based from the Minna No Nihongo Textbook (1st edition), which I chose because I’m familiar with it. But even if you don’t have the textbook, you can still follow along the lessons by just watching the video.
    I'm not a native Japanese speaker nor am I a Japanese language teacher. I'm currently living in Japan and I use Japanese at work and daily life. I’m sharing what I’ve learned from my language school and through self-study. I’ve passed the JLPT N3 exam and am planning to take the JLPT N2 test in the future. So if you find any mistakes, feel free to let know so that we can all learn together. Thank you!

    Easily the hardest lesson so far. My head grasps the concept, but being able to come up with the sentence on the fly is very difficult. Usually take a moment of thinking for me. Currently studying japanese in japan with the school using Minn no nihongo, so this series has been a savior when i come home not understanding what the lesson was about.

      That's completely natural. There are 10 students in my japanese class and many of them can't even make basic sentences they should have been able to by lesson 10. And these aren't stupid people either. They're hardworking guys too. Not trying to brag but im the top of this class by far and I'm in the same position as you and my teacher says it's normal. It will start getting easier as the things you've learned have had the time to really burn into your brain

      @dantebiondi7629 Před 3 lety +3

      i will try to answer you, but my english is not pretty good so, sorry if you cannot understand me. if you look carefully in the second sentences, the question is about the apartament where he/she lived, which is in past tense, but the main meaning of the question is 'where is that apartment' (right now, in this moment) so the sentences-modifier of the noun is in past tense, but the senteces itself is in present tense. In the last sentences it repeat the tense of the modifier but the quiestion says "how was" what means that he alredy see it.
      I hope i could help you, sorry if you didnt understand me.

    Question here.
    Kinoo no eiga WA dou deshita ka?
    Kinoo no eiga GA dou deshita ka?
    My understanding of the lesson is instead of WA, we use GA to modify. Kindly enlighten me sensei! Thank you so much.

    • @NihonGoal
      @NihonGoal  Před 6 lety +6

      The first sentence "Kinoo no eiga WA dou deshita ka?" is like saying How was the movie (you watched) yesterday? The second sentence may be used if the person you are talking to watched another movie maybe the day before yesterday, so to specify/emphasize which movie you are asking about, you may say "Kinoo no eiga GA dou deshita ka?".
      WA is a topic particle, when you want to start a new topic and say/ask information about it.
      While GA is an identifier particle, you identify something unknown and give/ask information about it.
      I hope this makes sense. 🤔

      Kyoshi is only used to describe oneself. If I'm a teacher, I can tell other people that my profession is kyoshi. I can't say that I'm a sensei. While others refer to me, they call me sensei so in this example, sensei is the right word
