  • First part is me trying to crawl as slowly as possible on the concreted training track. The rest are the 3rd and 4th gen JImny's doing the same obstacles. In the 3rd sequence this was the 3rd gen's last attempt, he had tried multiple times before.

      He is not a very experienced driver. To show how well the Traction control works, I attempted to take the same lines as he did, going as slow as possible

    • @danielecigo3987
      @danielecigo3987 Před 5 lety +2

      In fact you have to do so ... keep moderately accelerated to give way to traction control to work ...
      The white Jimny, what year is it? Because if it is from 2015 onwards it should have the same type of traction control (ALLGRIP PRO)

  • @monkey_with_a_skateboard6823

    Only difference here is driver experience and lack of tyre tread!
    Get some insa turbos on that white one and it would have eaten every obstacle!

  • @danielecigo3987
    @danielecigo3987 Před 5 lety +6

    From 2015 also the old Jimny is equipped with the same type of traction control (ALLGRIP PRO).
    I have thoroughly tested both models, and there are no substantial differences in off-road performance. The ground clearance is only due to the higher tires ... with 195/80 the old Jimny has the same ground clearance. The little extra power of the new is compensated by gears a bit shorter in the old. In conclusion ... where one goes goes the other.

    • @vicrundle4661
      @vicrundle4661  Před 5 lety +1

      The extra power does make quite a difference. The places where the old Jimny stalls is because the aircon was on. With the new Jimny, there is no noticeable difference in performance worth the aircon on. The old Jimny is still exceptionally capable, with or without TC. The TC makes it very easy for novice drivers.

    • @danielecigo3987
      @danielecigo3987 Před 5 lety +2

      Ok ... I also had a Jimny 3rd generation without ALLGRIP PRO ... and did not go into some twist situations where the Jimny I have now (2015 with TC) passes. It's one of the most performing systems around, but not as an ARB rear locker (which I have ... and it's really another story) 😁👍

    A mí me parece que es un vídeo para desprestigiar a las primeras versiones del suzuki jimny, cuando con un bloqueo de diferencial trasero sales con menos trompicones que con el nuevo de fábrica. Lo de la potencia no voy a negar que es mejor cuanta mas fuerza disponible tengas, pero los desarrollos tanto en los diferenciales, como en la trasfer y en el propio cambio de marchas también cuentan mucho. Mi suzuki jimny de primera generación ha salido de muchos berenjenales el solito, y cuando pueda le pondré un bloqueo y un winch, y con eso se convertirá en imparable.

    I would love to buy a Jimny but can only afford a second hand old model, from the video it appears the old model does substantially poorer than the new one, is that so? Or is it the (what appears to be) bigger wheels on the new model in the video that makes it perform better with better ground clearance?

    • @vicrundle4661
      @vicrundle4661  Před 4 lety

      The new one has traction control, which makes quite a difference. I have however extensive off road driving experience. The driver of the old Jimny is fairly new to off-road driving.

      It has a slightly wider track, and a bit better ground clearance. The more powerful motor makes a big difference, and you can see from the video the difference the Traction Control makes.
