PLEASE NOTE: at this time due to the number of review copies I receive I am only accepting ARCs from publishers. I apologize and thank you for your understanding.
Some of the books shown/mentioned may have been sent to me for review but this in no way influences my ability to provide my true and honest opinion
I think the Six of Crows duology deserves all the hype it gets, especially as you said with Crooked Kingdom. It's the characters that do it for me. All of them are so complex and have really well thought out backstories and I could honestly have twelve more books about them
The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer! In fact, this series deserves even more hype than it already has. So good.
y e s
true ! so so good !
Yaaaaaaaas!
Yassssssssssss
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaas
six of crows is the greatest thing that's ever happened and i genuinely fell in love with all of the crows i actually don't have a favourite character (i guess maybe wylan because i relate to the way he thinks and speaks)
The Raven Boys
The Selection
Shatter Me
Anna and the French Kiss
The Book Thief
Miss Peregrine's House for Peculiar Children
The Fault in our Stars/Looking for Alaska/John Green
The Hunger Games
Fangirl
Throne of Glass/ A Court of Thornes and Roses/ Sarah J Maas
Caraval
Six of Crows
thanks :)
Thank you! You are a lifesaver! ❤
YESSS the selection. I totally feel the same way, I read the first books when I was younger, and what got me into reading YA. I LOVE IT.😂😂❤️❤️
You have so many books 😭 I'm so jealous 😂😂
Me too.
I loved the Selection series! Even after rereading it several times
Totally agree with ACOTAR. Read Caraval and thought it was interesting and different, and worth the read for sure. The Lunar Chronicles should also be on this list! I finished Cinder last week and am now halfway through Scarlet and am totally loving it!
I just finished the raven boys a few days ago and yasssss I loved it and I'm so excited to continue with the series. The selection is like my favorite thing ever omg I love america I see myself in her but yes selection is great & Maxon is bae❤
I love most of the books you mentioned, especially Looking for Alaska, Throne of Glass and Acotar. They all have a very special place in my heart, because they helped me in many ways.
The Book Thief is one of my favorite reads of 2017
Same hairstyle past 3 videos. The joy of prefilming. Hope ur enjoying ur trip
I've just read Six of Crows and Throne of Glass and I loved them
Ahh I totally agree with The Raven Boys!! Plus I recommend the audio books :)
Yes The Selection! So easy to read!
a list of cages is quite hyped up too and with reason because it's freaking amazing!
Drinking game: take a shot every time Hailey says hype 😂😂😂
Alisha J
I would be shitfaced.
I think it's awesome that we all have different opinions like at least four or five that you mentioned, I didn't like at all but some of them I completely agree with you! the world of readers is so awesome!
Totally agree about reading anna and the french kiss during exams... read it in one entire day, lost so much studying time, yet I love it 😍
I have watched so many of your videos and you always mention the book thief! I couldn't get into it a few years ago when I tried and watching your videos is making me want to try it again
I'm so glad that you defended the Selection Series! It's also one of my favorites. Also agree with The Fault in Our Stars, Fangirl, and The Hunger Games (the rest I still haven't read yet because I'm afraid of the hype mostly)
You pretty much mentioned all of my over-hype favs that deserve so much love:
Throne of Glass
A Court of Thorns and Roses
Shatter Me
Six of Crows + Crooked Kingdom
Fangirl, my absolute favorite
I would also love to include The Wrath and Dawn duology. That was sooooo good. I love it.
I never made it through The Mortal Instruments and I don't regret never finishing it.
I agree wholeheartedly with pretty much all of the books on this list (those I've read)
I still don't want to read The Selection series. Still on the fence about Shatter Me. I got The Raven Boys and will get around to it eventually and I started The Book Thief, but put it down again. But I shall finish it this year!!!
Great video.
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children is my favourite of all time. I loved everything about it. I LOVED Caraval.
I agree with you about the selection series and i love the fault in our stars.i love fangirl.i see alot of myself in Cath.and I love, love, love the hunger games and the divergent series.
I think we have similar tastes in books. I've been watching some of your overhyped videos and now this one and I agree with most all of them (the ones I've read anyway). I'm very glad to hear you say you loved Anna and French Kiss. I feel like that's one I see on a lot of "overhyped" lists, but I loved it!
Throne of glass series i agree is a little bit to extended but its worth the time and not forgetting to mention how the series started to take a boost from Queen of Shadows but Sarah.J.Maas is a mind blowing writer😍😘😘
That emotion when u spoke about the Selection. Girl same. Was it the best dystopia or YA, not even close. Was it the most enjoyable book i've ever read, yes. it's the only series i've reread
I agree with most of your opinions...and even the one about the mortal instruments! I remember when it was an HP fanfic and as a result, I can't get into that world. I'm just like "oh that's Draco. Oh that's Ginny." I'm kind of curious to read Lady Midnight BUT I don't want to re-read the mortal instruments or the infernal devices b/c I read them as they came out years ago. I might still give Lady Midnight a try because I kind of remember the mythology C. Clare put into it. We'll see.
Six of Crows is definitely my favorite series!! It was sooooooo good and had my emotions all over the place.
I agree with all of these!! Fangirl is AMAZING. I still need to read the Raven Boys, the Maas books and Six of Crows though!
This is such a good video idea! You always see "hyped books I hate" but nothing like this
I agree with so many of these! I adore all of Sarah J Maas books! Great video!
The Caraval book has arrived today and I can't wait to read it. I was waiting for that book for a month.
Paper towns is my fav John green book
Currently reading ACOWAR but as soon as I finish I'm starting Six of Crows 😊
I thoroughly enjoyed The Selection! I did a review on the first three books of the series. I'm reading Caraval right now.
MPHFPC IS LITERALLY ONE OF MY FAVORITE BOOK SERIES AND ID RECOMMEND IT ITS SUCH A PAGE TURNER OMGGGGGG
Attachments is by far my favorite Rainbow Rowell book!!!!
I need to read Book Theif!!
THG is amazing. I didn't think i would like it, but it will always be my all-time favorite. I honestly still think about it and the plot, even though i read it 1 year ago. also, does anyone have book suggestions?
I've read the hunger games seventeen times. it's one of my ALL TIME FAVOURITES!!!! I was so happy when I saw this on your list!!!! keep making awesome videos please!!!
About to start ACOTAR - I very rarely read YA, but the hype was just too much to resist~ glad you think it lives up!
I have all the throne of glass and acotar series, but I haven't touched them yet. I also have caraval but haven't read it yet either lol
I'm listening to "A Court of Wings and Ruin" right now on audio book and I'm definitely loving it! ACOMAF completely blew my mind and I'm very excited and a little scared to discover how Sarah J Maas concludes this incredible story!
Do you ever see a comment and wish that you were the one that wrote it? #mylifestory 😂
Although the only John Green I've read was Paper Towns and I couldn't stand it. So boring. Which makes me hesitant to try the other ones. But I probably should still try them. 🤔
I loved The Raven Boys, it was so beautiful! :D
I’ve had the Book Thief on my shelf for 3 years , I’ve read about 100 pgs but it was hard to get into. Good book, just ugh. Gonna try to finish it tho
The Wrath and the Dawn! Soooo good!
Hunger games will always hold a place in my heart! Love that series 😍 a lot of those I have but not read yet 😅throne of glass I have mixed feelings on some of the books, some I loved , some not so much. I'm on empire of storms currently. 😁
This is random, but I love that you come up with unique ideas for your videos. Keep up the great and creative work, Hailey! (And I hope you're enjoying Europe!)
Yay I have all the books that you've mentioned in this video!
THE 1D SONG OMG AAHHH!!!
I agree with the Hunger Games (the only books I've read frm your list so far), it's one of the best books I've read in my life. I have just ordered Paper Towns, so I'm curious wherever I'm going to like it, I loved the movies. The If I Stay by Gayle Forman is on my list of Hyped Books I've loved as well and many others of course
The music at the end 👌👌👌👌👌
I've read only two of the books and the rest are on my TBR
This is random, but I love that music at the end! Also, I'm only now getting into reading so I ordered six books last week, including Throne of Glass. I'm loving it so far! I love the depth in the characters and for as much of it I have read, I can agree to everything you said about it.
John David Barnett the song at the end is Girl Almighty by One Direction
Freaking makes my day everytime you upload 👌📖
I love your suggestions! I also am not a fan of the immortal instruments series but whatever right. Also what do you think about The Immortal Life of Nicholas Flamel series?
I LOVE WITH ALL MY SOUL "THE BOOKTHIEF" and "THE HUNGER GAMES", in fact I fell in love with books because the last book made me feel a lot of things. For me those book are MUST READ. Greetings from Venezuela.
I totally agree with the Mortal Instruments hype, I read all the books and I enjoyed them but meh. My best friend LOVED those books, in fact she told me the whole plot about two years before I read them. I read and loved most of the other books that u mentioned tho!!!!!
great list!
I firmly believe that sometimes books are hyped for a reason.
I love your hair ❤️, my favorite is Hunger Games!!! I love it
Whats the name of the song at the end of your video? from the outro?! It's soo cool
I love reading when I was younger I use to hate it but now I'm in love I love your channel 😊😊
From Anna and the French Kiss straight to Fangirl is like 7 books in a row I've read
Fangirl is hands down the most relatable book I've ever read. I like this video because it's focusing more on the positives than most book reviewers on CZcams.
I love the Red Queen
Carry On was so worth the hype! It was my favourite book!
girl almighty at the end just made my day
Yaaaaassssss for Six Of Crows!!!!! And the selection!
The Lunar Chronicles , The Fault in Our Stars ,
I definitely agree with your love for Six of Crows! I listened to the audiobook back in December after having the books gather dust on my shelves for ages and absolutely fell in love! I just think that I'm the only person in the world who doesn't care for Crooked Kingdom? I mean, I still loved the story and I thought it was incredibly inventive and interesting, but the direction the story went in wasn't my favourite, and neither was the conclusion. I just think that SoC could have benefited from another book to really nicely tie up all those loose ends, instead of Leigh rushing to cram everything-- backstories, different narratives, motives, happy (or sad) endings-- all into one book.
Dharma Beeharilal I liked Crooked Kingdom but I thought Six of Crows was a much better book.
I actually could not help but enjoy the selection series...I read all of them in a week.
I'm 40 years old and "Looking for Alaska" is still one of my favourite books (together with "Paper towns"). I think that John Green it's really for everyone.. :)
I totally respect your opinion on The Mortal Instruments series, but I strongly urge you to give it another try. The first two books are my least favorite in the Shadowhunter Chronicles, so please read on. Again, I totally respect your opinion.
I wanted to love The Raven Boys soooo badly, but I couldn't even finish the first book =/. I really want to pick up A Court of Thorns and Roses since it's been sitting on my shelf for months but I'm worried I'm not going to like it so I keep putting it off! I need a pep talk!
ACOTAR is so worth it go and read it , you'll love it
Let's have a real conversation about ACOTAR. It's really good BUT I see a lot of people that didn't like it (the first one) because they say it takes too long for something to happen (I disagree). So if this does happen to you, please push it forward and give a chance for the second, A Court of Mist and Fury. I did love both, but I can tell that ACOMAF is more dinamic and Feyre, the main character, she grows a LOT and it's really nice to see. She stops with the annoyance that happens in ACOTAR.
go for it! it's awesome and the second one it's even better, when I finished ACOMF I had this amazing satisfaction of how the good book should be (hope I'm making any sense ) :)
Allison P omg same I read the Raven boys ages ago and can't really remember it except I remember I didn't like it and I gave the book away straight after reading it
Well, ACOTAR is officially in my purse, ready to be read! And Giovanna, thank you! I would definitely be one to put it down if it took too long to get to the action! Fully prepared to (hopefully) love this book!
i really love the Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater, but I'd actually they, it's really under hyped, because where I live (Germany) NOBODY knows that book. I never even saw it in a bookstore, because its so unpopular and I'm trying to get my friends into reading it, because it is SO GOOD and I just really wish more people would know it and I had someone to talk about it with
Fynn byeah that's also what I was thinking, I love the series but I remember when it first came out I struggled to find it in any bookstore, at least not till the second book maybe third book was released. Nor could I find anyone who had the same love for the series as I did, it's getting more of a mention on booktube now but it still very under hyped in my opinion.
georgia kate yes thats exactly what I was talking about!
same for where I live in Australia! I've never seen any of the books in shops- even right after the release of The Raven King!
I'm planning on buying it through Amazon at some point (maybe i'll get them for christmas or something) but I can't wait to own them
I genuinely enjoyed them so much that they're now three-way-tied with my other two favourite series
Tamar Mack yes! I've lived in New Zealand last year and to find a book in a bookstore there isn't easy as well. They didnt have any of the Raven Cycle books and (in my opinion) books are extremely expensive over there (compared to Germany)
I dnf'ed both looking for alaska and the fault in our stars I thought they where boring tbh :-( and the mortal instruments is one of my favorites
The mortal instruments are so hyped up it's unreal 🙄
The hunger games and the selection TRILOGY definitely deserves the hype 😌😌
Hey, I was just wondering what the whole series in order is of the throne of glass books by Sarah j mass?
if you like these kind of books, you should definitly read: “the royals” it’s one of the most amazing books I’ve ever read! it’s truly remarkable
I really like this video, I'm gonna check some of this books :)
So glad you have The Book Thief up there! Have you read the Legend trilogy?
i'm going to take your word for all of these :)
i love looking for Alaska
I'm glad you mentioned the Hunger Games! Since the movies are over I feel like this series doesn't get much attention anymore, but every other dystopian is marketed as "the next Hunger Games", which they just are not.
abookunbroken yes :o but I feel like thg in general isn't that hyped anymore than when the books/movies had just come out, and that's sad...
Throne of glass
Celaena
Before reading: wow a story about a the strong and deadly female assassin ? I gonna love the book.
After reading: what ? She just a little princess who obsess with love.
When I read throne of glass I felt like I was reading a DISNEY tale and.
And yeah Don't trust the hype about this book, TRUST me.
Maxon is IKR
@Haileyinbookland
how many books do you read at a time?
Always and Forever, Lara Jean by Jenny Han deserves thr hype! Love it!
eh I mean kinda... sorry I disagree sorry
The moment you started to fangirl about Maxen I hit the subscribe button!!! 💕
OH MY GOD. Fine, i am sold. I will trust the hype with caraval and six of crows!! Because of youuu hahahaa ive been thinking if i hould get it or not but now i totallly willll hahahaha thank you! 😂
hi hailey can you do a review on hush hush
your an amazing booktuber and my favourite, love from the UK :D
I remember booktubers saying how blown away they were by An Ember in the Ashes series and they were so right. I thought those books were fantastic
I liked ACOTAR, Fangirl, The Selection (same thoughts,) The Hunger Games, Caraval. Didn't get Six of Crows. You're making me want to read your other choices.
I know you are gone on the backpacking trip...and I know that this idea will be too late by the time you are making videos again
But I think it would be interesting if you made a video about fluffy reads for finals week like "Anna and the French Kiss"
YES THE HUNGER GAMESSS
I'm not as hardcore of a fan of Mortal Instruments or any of Cassandra Clare's books. I still enjoy her world and I want to reread, but I'm not obsessed.
