I just love the realness of this anime. Rudy doesn't ever blindly jump into combat like every other isekai. The tension and nervousness rudy felt when facing down the head smuggler felt so genuine it was refreshing.
Exactly. Rudeus is just a normal guy, he doesn't feel excited or thrilled to risk his life in battle, he is scared. Just like any of us would be in his situation. It is just so much more down to earth compared to other anime.
I love how things actually feel like threats, Rudy might be crazy stong but there are still things that are a danger to him. I like how the side characters and antagonists can be actually competent to, they're allowed to get some wins unlike so many other shows where they exist solely to be inferior to the mc.
I like to use the Elder Scrolls term for Rudy - he's an essential, high-level NPC with FUCHUEG lore and conversations written for him - because if we put the entirety MT's story (side story and epilogues), his actual role is not the MC, not even a party member of the MC.
Rudy, while having knowledge from earth, just has a very large mana pool. By large I mean he probably has the largest mana pool on the entire planet. His fighting skill is actually lower than Eris.

While Rudy was being trained by paul he had great aptitude for North God style swordsmanship than the other 2 and he wanted to learn more. Paul denied him cause he himself is not proud that he is advance level at it.

Gallus was a North Saint, the next rank after advance and when sword god users learn the school's signature technique. rudy is at a level at which he can fight saint ranked swordsmen. he was surprised by how "weak" aqua road looked individually because everyone rudy trains or teams up with is a monster/prodigy

I appreciate just how the series shows us how powerfully weak a main character can be. Sure rudeous is already a saint rank mage but his combat IQ gives us a place grow. Even with all the power he is still learning

@@bibbobella I'm not sure what series you read but Big spoiler, talking post turning point 5 spoiler . Rudy absolutely does get stronger. He's strong now, but he does improve massively. Disturb Magic is one way, but he also gets stone bullet up to Imperial level, he gains king class water magic and specifically uses that to improve his arsenal in a meaningful way, and you forgot the God tier spell he comes up with to Nuke boss man on the spot. On top of that you have MK 0, MK. 1, and MK. 2, a Gatling gun, an extra hand that can negate spells, and one of his biggest advantages a rabid Sword King he can sick on his enemies. Plus a benefactor willing to sacrifice this loop for him.
@@arts1628 tecnically not... the spards and most trival warriors have completly different stiles than the north... they both have ideas in common, but think that the north stile is focused in swords and swing weapos, pole arms are a kind of taboo in humans so north stile don't include ruijerd's spear techniques.

better get used to this, between every major fight there is usually 2 or 3 episode of slow pace moments. And yes, like Jordanne mentioned the entire cage thing was a set for a VERY IMPORTANT thing for the future. And also, it was also used as a world building moment to show the everyday application of magic (which was cut out, but mentioned in this video).

watching ep15 i realized the timing of the raid because of the rainy season on my own , was clever . No wonder north style is the lowest rank, it is almost street fighting , anything goes as long you live . Solo skill will enable you to go to the sky, team play makes you reach godly realms .
Okay so everybody is spoiling so I will just say it in the least spoilery way that North God Style comprises of any under handed tactics that could be used. It could be from Hostage, Dust throwing to Actual Ninja Techniques, Yes there are ninja techniques taught too and they are encouraged to build their own weapon
I like when he said S-rank party at 0:09 He shows the picture of Goblin slayer and his party Even though they don't have S-rank class power (Although they are very good at making Tactics , combat experience and being cautious/plan ahead) making them work like a good team Just as he said in the video Sure individually they may not be strong and powerful but together as a team they are definitely S-rank
I really wonder if Rudy could have won the battle somewhat easily had he had his wand. He ofcourse didn't really use much water magic in the fight but I could have seen him probably using some slightly stronger spells if he had the wand. Also, I am certain he would have honestly won easily if he wasn't reluctant to kill. Had he gone into the fight with the mindset of killing he would have won without any doubt in my mind.
By the nature of how combat works in mushoku tensei, the strongest spell is not always the better, "weak spells" are prefered in combat because they require less time to cast. For the other hand, what the wand actually does is making the casting more mana eficient... ofcourse, by this also meant that you can do more powerfull spells whit less mana, but taking in account the previous statement, the real advantage of the wand is letting the wizard fight for longer periods of time. In rudeus's case, for reasosn that will be later reveal, with or with out the wand he can cast almost all the spells he want, with out concerning about the mana expend... yes, having the wand would help, but it would not be a dicisive factor. and for the other thing, yes... thats one of the main conflicts of mushoku tensei, it i'll be simpler if he just kill the enemies like literally everyone else does, but the sole idea of ending someone's live makes him sick

Although at the time I thought it was just his normal insecurity and lack of confidence, I wish they Would have had kept aqua heart out of it, because, one, it would have shown his power more when making the rainstorm, and two, it would have made even more sense why he was worried about fighting gallus.
The growth, the realisation and development is one of best I seen in this series. That just going full force and relying on teammate is not enough they need to their part as well

Darkness would probably take one look at all the tentacles and jumped after Aqua with everyone present praising her heroic sacrifice. Then Megumin would blow up the octopus and Kazuma would cut out his teammates from the remains with his smol sword. Mission accomplished.
Are there other anime you'd be interested in covering? I'm currently watching Ranking of Kings and i'm really liking it. As far as isekai goes i'm hoping that The World's Finest Assassin will pay off long term but i'm into it so far, and Faraway Paladin has potential for being pretty amazing.
I found it very sad that they left out much of the monster hunting on the daemon continent, it showed both how strong his magic could be, how strong the higher end monsters are and how inexperienced as a fighter he is. Again with the great forest episode, in the web novel (haven't read the light novel) he goes to try out som magic shit cause he is stuck there for 3 months and bored out of his mind. He messes up and gets lost after witch he basically freezes half the forest just to try and get back.
So... the way Rudeus first met Galleus was due to a misunderstanding (shockwaved him out of the way of a falling vase), and the reason they fought was also because of a misunderstanding (shockwave again). The man never learns does he.
There's one significant issue in the anime execution scene that's a problem much later in the series: the anime shows that Ariel, Luke, and Fitz are at the execution, but, in volumes 16 and 17, it's clear they do not know who was behind the trial and execution of Soros.

I feel like in a way the sacrid beast is shown in the anime to understand rudeus considering they like to look at each other and he talks to it quite often, it even in the latest episode being shown to understand him when he says that they should "go for a walk" so Eris can have time to talk to the two children she was hanging out with there.

So for those interested: Rudeus still has this problem of not wanting to personally m.urde.r anyone since he still has the naive Japanese mentality of not wanting to kill and living in a peaceful society. His words not mine. He also is fully aware of how naive this is but couldn't bring himself to do it anyway. So for the actual spoiler even up until Volume 20 of the web novel when he has to fight in a war (too many details to properly explain) he can't bring himself do so even at that point, which is to say only four more volumes left after that. I believe it's not until the second to last volume that he finally buckles down and decides to kill a bitter enemy. Mainly because his precious wife(s) children and other immediate relatives lives are in danger.
+@@AniNews+ MW2 was the Apex of the Call of Duty Franchise and it was almost perfect; the campaign, the multiplayer, the weapons. With the lack of a Zombies mode being the only blemish in my book. Oh and the Soundtrack; Hans Zimmer is a God in that arena and his work elevated the entire experience, with Extraction Point and particularly the credits version still being one of my absolute favorites to this day. However Black Ops 1 still probably has the best Campaign and Story of the Franchise, helped by fact that Mason is a fully voiced character expertly vioced by Sam Worthington (despite letting his accent slip out once or twice) and the best version Agent Hudson "Ice Cube". With so many memorable moments like "What Are the Numbers MASON!?" And "My name is Victor Reznov and I will have my Revenge!". It's a Shame the Franchise has degenerated so badly into the mess that is Vanguard.
Spoiled and Rotten (aka Silver Plan) is a pretty good time rewind manga (and, yes, manga, was colorized) with a good lesson of appreciating youth, thinking to the future, and a lot of other good messages imo. Lady to Queen is... honestly kinda trash in someways, good in others. Tbh, for the otome isekai stuff, Tapas prolly has the best selection, but Pocket Comics is pretty good.
yeah honestly I would love to know more about the Mushoku Tensei Lore and world and this helps a lot. Especially regarding the comments lelz. Too bad tho I only get access to the manga and Anime because I don't know where to find the WN and as for the LN don't have money nor where to find. Although honestly this is good enough.
A beast that's prophesized to accompany the Hero who will save the the worldfrom a great Calamity. He's still a puppy that's why the Beast race are trying to protect him.
One of the biggest things skipped during this arc in the anime is Rudy's interactions with the Dog Spirit thing. I won't spoil a single thing. I'm a LN reader and I'm caught up to the English release. I saw this episode in the anime after reading the LN. I was like.... a lot skipped or missing but some of the most important stuff is likely the Dog stuff. That is all I will say others can mention what was missed or you can go read the LN for yourself or maybe it's in this video.
him not attacking as often and collapsing at the end would make more sense if he didn't have the staff's ~80% discount on drowning the flames, and if he got in more fights the latter is obviously forgivable because time constraints, but not having to draw the staff and maybe his trench coat would be better for the studio's time and money, as well as the narrative and communicating his lack of equipment without having to deal with rudeus not being very clothed i don't get it
I am guessing they just didn't want to explain where his stuff went after even though they could just have it be delivered to him as he was in the bed. That being said, him passing out even without the staff wouldn't make much sense. The dude literally have the most mana in the entire world. Literally no one alive have as much as he does thanks to him cultivating it so early.
Next episode answers it, but basically the sacred beast appears when a big calamity is going to happen and will help a hero stop it. It's still far in the future so they have to take care of it until it grows, that is their duty.

We learn later there are two factions in the North god style. The Heros vs the Ninjas why Paul would learn the Ninjas really makes no sense to me.

North God Style, the sword technique style that is so flexible that one of their strongest uses a spear and another uses an Axe.
If you're referring to kalman2, I think he is using a staff or just a metal rod not a spear.

Rudy's staff is a magic staff, it's a more powerful "wand" than the beginner wand he received from Roxy.
I'm disappointed that they skipped the scene where Rudy frozen the whole flood with ice magic, was really looking forward to that getting animated!

Are there other anime you'd be interested in covering? I'm currently watching Ranking of Kings and i'm really liking it. As far as isekai goes i'm hoping that The World's Finest Assassin will pay off long term but i'm into it so far, and Faraway Paladin has potential for being pretty amazing.

I found it very sad that they left out much of the monster hunting on the daemon continent, it showed both how strong his magic could be, how strong the higher end monsters are and how inexperienced as a fighter he is. Again with the great forest episode, in the web novel (haven't read the light novel) he goes to try out som magic shit cause he is stuck there for 3 months and bored out of his mind. He messes up and gets lost after witch he basically freezes half the forest just to try and get back.
So... the way Rudeus first met Galleus was due to a misunderstanding (shockwaved him out of the way of a falling vase), and the reason they fought was also because of a misunderstanding (shockwave again). The man never learns does he.

There's one significant issue in the anime execution scene that's a problem much later in the series: the anime shows that Ariel, Luke, and Fitz are at the execution, but, in volumes 16 and 17, it's clear they do not know who was behind the trial and execution of Soros.

I feel like in a way the sacrid beast is shown in the anime to understand rudeus considering they like to look at each other and he talks to it quite often, it even in the latest episode being shown to understand him when he says that they should "go for a walk" so Eris can have time to talk to the two children she was hanging out with there.

So for those interested: Rudeus still has this problem of not wanting to personally m.urde.r anyone since he still has the naive Japanese mentality of not wanting to kill and living in a peaceful society. His words not mine. He also is fully aware of how naive this is but couldn't bring himself to do it anyway.
So for the actual spoiler even up until Volume 20 of the web novel when he has to fight in a war (too many details to properly explain) he can't bring himself do so even at that point, which is to say only four more volumes left after that. I believe it's not until the second to last volume that he finally buckles down and decides to kill a bitter enemy. Mainly because his precious wife(s) children and other immediate relatives lives are in danger.

+@@AniNews+ MW2 was the Apex of the Call of Duty Franchise and it was almost perfect; the campaign, the multiplayer, the weapons. With the lack of a Zombies mode being the only blemish in my book. Oh and the Soundtrack; Hans Zimmer is a God in that arena and his work elevated the entire experience, with Extraction Point and particularly the credits version still being one of my absolute favorites to this day.
However Black Ops 1 still probably has the best Campaign and Story of the Franchise, helped by fact that Mason is a fully voiced character expertly vioced by Sam Worthington (despite letting his accent slip out once or twice) and the best version Agent Hudson "Ice Cube". With so many memorable moments like "What Are the Numbers MASON!?" And "My name is Victor Reznov and I will have my Revenge!". It's a Shame the Franchise has degenerated so badly into the mess that is Vanguard.

Spoiled and Rotten (aka Silver Plan) is a pretty good time rewind manga (and, yes, manga, was colorized) with a good lesson of appreciating youth, thinking to the future, and a lot of other good messages imo.
Lady to Queen is... honestly kinda trash in someways, good in others. Tbh, for the otome isekai stuff, Tapas prolly has the best selection, but Pocket Comics is pretty good.

One of the biggest things skipped during this arc in the anime is Rudy's interactions with the Dog Spirit thing. I won't spoil a single thing. I'm a LN reader and I'm caught up to the English release. I saw this episode in the anime after reading the LN. I was like.... a lot skipped or missing but some of the most important stuff is likely the Dog stuff. That is all I will say others can mention what was missed or you can go read the LN for yourself or maybe it's in this video.

The end of the episode is a shocker bruh
him not attacking as often and collapsing at the end would make more sense if he didn't have the staff's ~80% discount on drowning the flames, and if he got in more fights
the latter is obviously forgivable because time constraints, but not having to draw the staff and maybe his trench coat would be better for the studio's time and money, as well as the narrative and communicating his lack of equipment without having to deal with rudeus not being very clothed

I am guessing they just didn't want to explain where his stuff went after even though they could just have it be delivered to him as he was in the bed.
That being said, him passing out even without the staff wouldn't make much sense. The dude literally have the most mana in the entire world. Literally no one alive have as much as he does thanks to him cultivating it so early.
Why does Gallus look like a different character in the anime?
Because the manga isn't really an accurate description of their appearance aside from those who have an LN illustrations.
The question is, what is the function of the sacred beast? It seemed weak, is it just a monster deterrent?
Next episode answers it, but basically the sacred beast appears when a big calamity is going to happen and will help a hero stop it. It's still far in the future so they have to take care of it until it grows, that is their duty.
