I just love the description of the first time it travelled through parts of England. "As bystanders watched, it blew their hats off and singed their eyebrows".
This is touching and majestic. A piece of moving and roaring historical humans technology masterpiece, 1 century after his creation. Thank you England and Italy for this, 2 nations with some of the greatest passion for cars in history. Respect.

I wonder if the passenger had a sausage on a stick if it would be cooked by the end of the climb?
It'll smell and taste like oil but it'll probably be cooked.

Don't take much to cook a sausage so my vote is yes
I'm sure that ride was so scary, their sausages were well puckered by the end.
@@SpamMeGooglification those are meant to be driven with sliding in the back, the driver obviously knows what he is doing and has little reason to be sausage puckered.
Fascinating yet scary to watch. Slippery road, thin wheels and a brave driver.
Yes, it looked like it was on the edge of spinning out / rolling over a few times. Would not be a pretty sight!
Even braver passenger...
When it was new, they used to send a small boy with a brush into the cylinders to clean the soot from them. Allegedly.
RWBHere I’ll but that. Children were smaller and bore a heck of a lot more responsibility then than they ever will now.

There's a whole series of vids dedicated to the rebuilding process, check it out.
If memory serves me correctly, I'm sure this thing is somehow road legal, according to David Addison.
Imagine seeing this thing in your mirrors.
It is, the owner drives it regularly
that's quite right, even drives it on the motorway
It was road legal when it was built, and I believe the laws on road legality don't apply retrospectively, so it can still drive according to whatever regulations were in place in 1911
I'm not sure what would be a bigger shock. This gigantic red thing flying past you at speed, making all that noise, with 3 foot of flames coming out the side with a madman at the wheel and a passenger holding on for dear life while you're in your quiet, little, early 20th century village and may not even have a clue as to what a motor car is at that time and leaving either wonderment or utter fear and panic in it's wake.......or be rolling down a motorway or highway in your modern car or SUV when this gigantic, red, Steampunk looking bomb shaped thing tears past at speed, making all that noise, with 3 foot of flames coming out the side with a madman at the wheel and a passenger holding on for dear life, all while once again leaving wonderment or utter fear and panic in it's wake, much like it would have 108 years ago!

Older machines are easier to maintain due to simplicity lol
@@LoQOpa Not true at all, most the parts for vehicles this age simply dont exist and even finding any technical specs for parts is unlikely. Every replacement part has to be specifically engineered and manufactured for it and let's not forget these vehicles were conceived at a time when we didn't yet know what a standard typical car would be like and so the mechanics of such vehicles can seem incredibly illogical. Plus of course the car is ancient and not incredibly reliable to start with and so you'll be going through the above process a lot.

When Civic guys ask what your favorite four cylinder engine is.
Easy... it's the EA888
As a civic owner , I'd say this fiat is definitely my favorite of all time. My poor civic is crying outside in pure jealousy. What I would give to go strolling in that beauty for a night drive in the city with it.

What a beautiful snarling beast of an automobile! I love watching this thing charge up the hill!
I just love this car. I keep watching and sharing the videos of this beast. And love the way that it's driven, the pilot really enjoys the ride, every year.
Magnificent - I watched this while listening to 'Ode to Joy' - cars for when men were men and power was everything - it's a cruel world.
What a awesome thing it is to see and hear that old girl popping and snorting fire as she slides and twitches about is a glorious thing. To think 108 years young and still being pushed hard and driven even when the weather is not all fair sky’s and sunshine is simple a treat for gear-heads of all ages.
Words cannot describe the feelings a real car enthusiast should have when watching this clip. Cool on so many levels
Everything about this looks scary, but the uncovered chain on the outside right under the guys arms looks really scary!
Chainsnap and there goes the elbow... 😨
Badass guys with big balls driving/co driving this BEAST!!! 🤘🤘😂
I think the bigger problem would be the loss of drive to one side. It has been a while since I have had a broken chain on a bicycle, I don't think you get whipped by them when they break.
@@pdsnpsnldlqnop3330 Bicycle chains go slow enough they won't fly too far, but a motorcycle chain that breaks will punch a hole through the transmission casing.
