- The G-200 EC is equipped with a Gibson Player Port™. The Player Port is an original Gibson concept from the early 1960s that has been refined by our acoustic luthier team to deliver a truly revolutionary sonic improvement that adds a new dimension to the sound. The Gibson Player Port allows you to hear the guitar as you're playing it like you've never heard it before-the same way your audience hears it-maximizing the sonic impact for an immersive playing and listening experience. The G-200 EC is part of the Generation™ Collection. Like all models in this collection, it is made in Bozeman, MT, by the same highly skilled craftspeople who make all Gibson acoustics. It features a beautiful solid Sitka spruce top and solid walnut back and sides for tone that sounds crisp and resonant. You'll feel that the slightly thinner cutaway jumbo body is more comfortable to play, and provides excellent access to the upper frets. The TUSQ® nut and saddle, along with the Grover® Mini Rotomatic® tuners deliver solid tuning stability so you can spend more time playing instead of tuning, and the utile neck with its easy-playing Advanced Response neck profile is so comfortable you won't want to put it down. It also comes equipped with an LR Baggs™ Element Bronze pickup system, so your G-200 EC will sound as good to your audience as it does to you. A gig bag is also included.

Love the cutaway! This is exactly what I need!
I picked this baby up today in a store and tried it out. It plays really easy and sounds great the resonance was fantastic, I’m sure when it was hung back up I could still hear it when I left the store. I’m just looking at the moment but this one is up there on all counts. The only down side for me was the fret markers, I an visually impaired and it was difficult to differentiate between the frets.
Its a shame they didnt include a HSC for the price
Played one finally. Easily stood with $2500 Taylors and a D-35. Let your ears (not su ojos or your preconceived thoughts) truly guide you when you play one.
The satin finish on the neck will make a positive difference in these less expensive models. In my experience less expensive Gibsons tend to have have glossy finish on necks - not comfortable to play IMO.
the opposite of true about Gibson guitars..but close I guess if close means completely backward.
$9.99 Gibson sells a players port sound hole cover for the G-Series. Worth trying one out. I have one and use it sometimes. It ends up sounding more like a regular J45.
please make g-200 vs sj-200 comparison
Will I be able to fingerpick on this guitar ? And will it sound good like that ?
I like this a lot. Nice one Gibson.
I like this instrument of the four most. The slightly thinner body along with the Walnut back and sides seems to reduce internal reverb, seemingly cleaning up the articulation. This G-200 EC has a very responsive and resonant soundboard. It sounds very present, articulate, and balanced across the sound spectrum. If I was in the market for an instrument, I would have snapped this one up quickly. Priced competitively and sounds good? Yes!
I do like a deeper body and the more cavernous sounds that a slightly deeper body can sometimes contribute to. This specific instrument has a sound that would serve a player and/or a collection well.

The first project of this guitar is from the '50s by Gibson, but also in Italy, almost 30 years ago there were a brand from Torino who did something similar. It's so a simple idea indeed, and sounds great
I'm still waiting to see what Eastman & Dana Bourgeois cook up...guys, do you have a status report on that?
Well, at least if you drop a pick in the sound hole you can retrieve it easier.
Does it lose volume
It’s not a J200, but it sounds like it has a little of Gibson’s secret sauce in it. I like it. Think I’d go for an inspired by Gibson J200 before this though.
It's (player port) been there for Maestro guitars in ages.
I wish there was a g-200 c without the e so the price could come down.
Jose Felicia didn't! LOL-there's probably a lot of viewers who have no idea who he is!!!
Really interesting guitars, Gibson knows walnut! Just a little perplexed that Gibson appears to be claiming to have the sound port...
isn't he the guy that did the terrible light my fire cover, and the one Christmas song..see I know who he is
I love simple
I'm not too much convinced sonically. If it was a wine, I'd say it lacks some "body".
Think it might get break more easy with two holes on the guitar .
Alright, walnut and black binding should never go together lol. It’s so ugly to me, but I’m glad that some people like it.
Made in America so It's already better than others that arn't. I've been to Music Villa and those guys are very cool, friendly and seem to truly care about their customers. This guitar from this location. It will be set up and ready to play. I recommend visiting if at all possible.
Neck width please?
1.725”
The price tag got to be wrong. 😊
Putting the strap button in the heel cap area though? C'mon Gibson...
"Jose Feliciano didn't" 🤣🤣🤣
I presume the "Tin" sound I am hearing is because it's a 2000 dollar guitar with no acoustic pickup? And needs a mic thru a PA? 5 videos on this series of guitar-and no one talks about the elephant in the room!
I don't know about what you are saying about the sound.. but if you watched the video at all you would know this is one of two out of the four that has a pickup.... ADHD?
@@joshwallace2183 I stand corrected. No-not ADHD-I went back just now to view the video. The intro part of the vid is the part I did not see. Perhaps due to my computer.
As to ADHD-No. I do not have ADHD. But I do recognize an asshole post! No Mommy and Daddy to raise you?
Good review, but IMHO the Guitar sounds terrible no bass which Gibson is famous for, maybe the thin body responsible for this effect, I wouldn't want one if they were giving them away!!
Gibson still doesn't know how to make guitar!!!!!!!
@@jesseveil9398ignoramus you think but have absolutely no knowledge yourself angle neck mahogany has 0 tone once so ever you be so embarrassed paying $3000 for firewood!!!!!!!
