Everyone has the right to have health care, Obamacare forced people to buy insurance or they would be penalized on their tax return.

In Norway, we all pay taxes. The government use it to provide good , free health care for all 30% cheaper than in the US, with higher life expectancies. How? The goverment act as one very big customer and can presssure down prices on medication.
With universal coverage, you need no one to check coversge, much less laywers etc. that saves money.
If you start a business in Norway. You dont use your time find an insurance program for your work force. You just pay 14% tax on their salary.
If you loose your job or chabge job: full coverage, poor or rich.
In Norway we call this freedom: freedom from economic and mental stress, freedom to use your time and menthal capacity on taking care of your self and family.
Freedom to live 6-7 years longer than in the US (male).
Freedom for doctors to choose the best treatment, not trestment covered by insurance.
If needed , they will pick you up by ambulance helicopter, for free. Ambulance is also free.
Do you prefer government housing over your own home? Do you prefer government cheese over real cheese? Government education over private schools? Think about that next time you ask for government healthcare.

How long has democrats been trying to lower the cost of prescription drugs? Every few years I'm in DeJa'Vu.
It's actually happening this time though. Insulin was just the beginning. Our FDA can now negotiate prescription drug prices with Medicare, because of a provision in the 2021 Inflation Reduction Act. Thank you, President Biden!
This is for Medicare recipients! Medicare recipients are the senior citizens and the disabled! This is just the first 20 drugs that the prices will be being lowered. There will be more to follow. That's things take time especially when one house of Congress holds them up, or doesn't like something and it goes back to the original person who wrote it for different wording or something to be taken out, or it never gets out of the House to go to the Senate..... it takes time. Seniors Citizens need not be be financially burdened or have to choose between paying a bill, or buying food, or getting a prescription drug.
The GOP will never acknowledge this, but the handling of transitioning from Biden to Harris as the nominee was handled with as much class and professionalism as this very difficult situation could have been dealt with. But those are two traits they clearly have no concept of. Thank god there are still some adults left in the public sector.

I appreciate everything that's been done to make medication affordable I personally spend about $4,000 a month on medication and at first I had to pay at least half of that before I got medical coverage that would take over and pay for my prescription I live on disability I really cannot afford $2,000 and then have Medicare pick it up yes I am very grateful to the president and to you our vice president for making my cost way lower than $2,000 as a matter of fact right now Medicare covers all of my medications and I don't have to spend a cent thank you so much and God bless you

Medicare usually has a copay for all drugs. Even if it's a couple of dollars. Not all medications are so cheap on Medicare.

I'm sure American Health experts know how our system runs. But if you guys adopted a universal health care system like Canada or here in Australia, you won't know yourselves. Most of the modern world can't fathom how a country like yours doesn't have it by now. Australia has a two tiered system where you can pay nothing and use the public hospital system. Or pay for private health cover and use the private health system. A lot of our medication from the pharmacies are also either free or very well subsidized.

So, wouldn't the cap of 2000. as opposed to the current cap around 7000. still help? They need to lower premiums for Medicare, instead of raising them, when the COLA is under a certain amount, too.
