Incredibly sad. When I'd go by the store in Murfreesboro in the 90s, even though I was just a teenager starting out on guitar, Joe would answer any questions and offer tips and recommendations that really helped. I knew he was the store owner, but I did not find out what a legend he was in the industry as a whole until I discovered this CZcams channel during the pandemic. At this point I just feel really lucky to have had the privilege to talk to him several times and buy my first few guitars from him. Huge loss for the music industry, and I hope Joe's legacy carries on forever in the MHOF.

@@MusiciansHallofFameMuseum thank you for the kind reply. Your Dad was truly a class act and I see the traits in you and Alex. For folks like Joe who knew and was friends with the biggest names in show business like Chet and Garth and so many other....still stayed well grounded and treated people like myself so kindly. I admire that so much. I would be a kinda a big head. Lol but y'all aren't and that absolutely melts my heart. Your Dad knew I was coming to see him but when I arrived he wasn't there yet. So I toured the museum ...which really was amazing. Words can't describe my appreciation for it. But when I was done I stopped and asked if he showed up yet and he didn't. So I left my phone number and walked to where I was parked and my phone rang . It was a lady in the office asking if I was still there because Joe showed up. I basically ran back and there he was sitting waiting for me in his golf cart. He didn't have to do that . We talked for about 20 minutes and had a nice visit. He was in the middle of editing a video so I didn't want to keep him. It was such an honor. He was wonderful and so are you. Sorry for the long winded reply. I look forward to more videos and interviews with Alex. I wish so bad I could come for the show but we are rebuilding after we were hit by and huge devastating hurricane here in Fort Myers. I hope to see clips of it. Please post some. Sending much love Bless you and you family 👍🏼😎🙏

I just want to send my sympathy to the family. I had enjoyed the channel and Joe's interviews for some time, so when my daughter started graduate school at Vanderbilt I had an excuse to visit the museum. As I returned from the restroom, there was Joe talking to my daughter. Her Georgia t shirt gave him an excuse to talk about his childhood in Columbus and other topics. We spoke again after touring the museum. He was very gracious and kind, and I looked forward to talking to him again on my next trip to Nashville. I'm headed there Friday, but saddened that I won't get to spend any time chatting with Joe. RIP

I had watched Joe's video's for a while, and then, while vacationing in Nashville, visited the Musicians Hall of Fame. There he was.....sitting by the door, a musical icon of knowledge and musicianship. He greeted me warmly and we chatted about the museum...Him relating to me what a challenge it was to have relocated the museum...He was as hospitable as could be to a stranger. I later wrote to him, offering him, to display my Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Concert, (Cleveland,Ohio,1995) script sheets of all the acts, including songs and pairings with other artists.
He declined at the time, but said he would consider it in the near future. Nashville......and music, lost a wonderful representative of integrity.......Thank You, Joe.

@@MusiciansHallofFameMuseum You know Britt, you could tell he was the same person in real life. It came through in spades in his interviews - and he was a GREAT interviewer. He always gave the guests the time to tell their stories without getting in the way or making the interview about himself. And reading some of his obituaries, I had no idea how hard he had to fight for the museum and fight to keep it open. Your Dad was a treasure to music fans everywhere. You're all in our thoughts.

That was always Dads goal…Your words would have meant so much to him.
Yes, the story of the museum and all that happened along the way could be a book.
He was the most positive person you could ever meet…. Everything had a purpose and a reason.

Thank you. I love that you can keep coming back for more.
