    Thank you for these videos, you’re very straightforward and helpful. I will travel to Greece in July, and since I’m younger than 25 I can’t buy tickets in advance in order to be granted free admission. I will definitely go to the ticket office of the Acropolis at around 8am, but I won’t be able to reach other places that early, so I was wondering if you know how long the lines can get in ticket offices in other sites such as the Acropolis Museum, the National Archeological Museum or Mychenae in other times of the day. I wouldn’t want to waste too much time just waiting in line 😅 thank you in advance!

But, I would kind of like to use the main entrance and enter through the Propylaia - sort of like I was walking in Athens 2500 years ago. What do you think? Is one entrance better than the other? I went in April. The good: there was a fountain where it was possible to fill bottle of water. The bad: I was deceived there were very few things to see. I took my time and it took me only one hour to visit. (And unfortunately, this comment apply to pretty much every museum and archeological site in Greece). It is super small compared to the archeological sites in Mexico, or even some Greek archeological sites located in Turkey (for e.g. Ephesus). I had a good time in Greece, but archeological sites and museums were extremely deceiving.

    I just found your videos and I think they are great! You are so helpful. Do you know why I can’t buy tickets online for the acropolis on the 24th of September 2023? All of the sites seem to be grayed out for the 23rd and 24th.

      Sep 23 and 24 will be FREE for everyone in 2023.

    If you enter through the side south slope, do you still ascend up the hill the same way as the main entrance? Like up through the propylea or is there another path/trail up?

    • @GreeceExplained
      @GreeceExplained  Před 2 měsíci

      Both trails lead to the Propylea, but by entering (or exiting) through the side entrance, you also pass in front of the amphitheater of Dionysus and a few other monuments, which you dont see if you enter & exit through the main entrance.

Would I be able to go to another archeological site before the Acropolis? Today or tomorrow morning? Or for the combo ticket I would have to go to the Acropolis first and then the rest of the archeological sites?

      The date you chose is indeed the date & time for your visit of the Acropolis.

      Good question ! If you have children, then yes you need to line up to get a free ticket for them. You cannot get a free ticket online. Of course there s always the option to pay for a full price ticket for your kid, and that way you can skip the line...
